Hey guys, so if you’ve seen the latest video/live stream on the channel, or follow my insta, you probably know that Ive already gotten my dream daily driver, the Subaru Forester STi, and I absolutely love the car.
However I had a bunch of half edited videos lined up that I didn’t have the chance to finish, so over the next several videos, let’s check out some of the events leading up to the purchase of my Forester STi!
In this episode, after checking out the Forester STi in the previous episode, we visit a random, tiny car lot where a pristine, and super rare silver EK9 Honda Civic Type R was for sale. Captain Bradford instantly fell in love. Is this his next car?

@@SirChickon it is what it is 😅 cant get jdm and a bunch of our local racetracks are being closed because of grumpy baby boomers that can't handle the noise. The track was oftenly there years before their move.

The engine bay on that Toyota is called wired tuck, all the wires are run through the fenders in the fuse box are inside under the glove box

Man that ek9 type r is immaculate. I think Captain should get his hands on it straight away! The dude knows his stuff about the Civic and look at his facial impression when he closes that boot lit xD.
Its so sad where I'm from cause Australia never sold any ek9 type r and it would cost an arm and leg just to import it over. :(

Milage can tell so much and so little at the same time. More milage means the car have been used, and if serviced regularly a better buy then a low milage never driven. Its just for the simple fact that cars dont react well to not being used. My SpecR is just like that Type-R, higmilage well serviced driving dream machine. Buy it is my recomendation!

I would like to think that if more people experienced the type of excitement that the EK9 Type R elicited from the Captain , car culture around the globe would be all the richer for it. Irrespective of cost, performance, exclusiveness, or how others might feel, some vehicles just do it for some people. It's not about the specific car involved, but rather that specific feeling.
In a "perfect gearhead world", that is the one thing we would all have in common.

Been a long time since your original reddit posts. I actually picked up an EK4 with a B16B swap here in the states. Only has a GSR transmission though. Will be tons of fun once I'm done with grad school and can put some money into it. Awesome to see the real thing in such good condition. All the best man

Where I live I have to wait till 11:45 PM to watch the video, which I can‘t because I have University at 8 AM tomorrow. Watching capitan geek out over small things like the sound of the door closing, makes me miss my 1985 RA64 Celica. Some sounds and quirks of your favorite car of your youth just become ingrained in your DNA. Though I think if I moved to japan I would probably buy an 88 AW11 MR2 (in white) for the nimble handling and the look.

I have ek4 sedan civic sedan powered by ek9 civic engine which is the b16b bought directly from japan last three yrs ago.its really awesome and powerful NA. I put jasma headers and replace with 2.5 inch piping and hks open pipe muffler. the engine sound realy good and amazing made by this engine. I think u guys must buy that civic ek9. u found another legend of japan motors. I am from philippines.
Talk about a dream Honda right there. Totally ordinary to see over there of course but an example like that in the states would fetch such a ridiculous premium, even with those miles. An EK9 type-r, one owner, all original never modified, thousands of Americans would be stampeding over each other trying to place bids on it. Beautiful car, and I'm not even a big EK hatch fan. My favorite Honda hatch is the EG. In the EG generation, I prefered the hatches. In this body style generation, I preferred the coupes. I always thought the EK was too boxy. The front end looks great, the rear was too square looking for my tastes but I still appreciate the hell out of the Type R. What Honda fan doesn't.
The engine bay on that red car is what we call a tucked & shaved engine bay in the U.S. Extremely popular thing to do in US car culture, especially import cars. Tucking is you're basically just cleaning up the bay and hiding the wiring harness as much as possible. Shaving the engine bay is much more involved and requires a lot of work. You're basically pulling everything out of the engine bay, then grinding/sanding the whole thing down until all the surfaces are smooth and there's no more welds or hard angles showing anymore. Then it gets repainted, usually color matched again to the car. Then when you put the motor back in, you do the usual wire tuck so everything looks clean. I don't know the exact process of doing an engine bay shave, I've never had one done. I have done my own wire tuck though, that's not too hard.

Buy that Civic Type R, as he said before. This car is COMPLETELY STOCK, it's in really cool condition and it's not ex-hashirya car. And it's less that 2mln ¥. In my opinion that Civic is worth its price.
That red wagon was amazing. He did a great job doing a US-Spec drag build. A lot of people have equal length header(s) or turbo exiting through the fender here.
And if Captain likes satisfying doors, he needs to check out an '80's Porsche 911 or 944. That's the most satisfying I've found so far.

OEM Colours were actually Zenki: Championship White, Vogue Silver, Starlight Black。Kouki: plus Sunlight Yellow. Milano Red was not offered on EK9, but on DC2
