As Night Falls Winter's chill sought the unworthy Through an endless night. They wither and tarry, Forsaken frosts as cold as death, Of Beyra's misery. The pack won’t forget. The air grows colder. Agnar, the runed or ruined- Agnar, the Impaler, As swift as death and imbued by the moon. Cursed or gifted, Branded and afflicted, Your veins soon chilled. Agnar shall slay again. Your pulse quickens-the eternal impure. With bloodlust empowered, our Esamir endured. But soon all were devoured in unending war. Death waited at the door. Hour by hour, men fell as summer soured. You are hunted-fang, tooth, and claw. Tortured under the moon. The pack suffered but endured, And howled now in tune. No tales were told, None new, none old, And their endless hunger grew ever stronger.
@@darklight0_1 I figured someone would have it clipped out nice on RUclips but no one does. I thought maybe someone would have it all written down on a wiki but no there too. So I decided to just start leaving it in comments. It's pretty good, and I like the character. It's pretty good poem as well.
The part "With bloodlust empowered, our *Ezomyr* endured." He's refering to his bloodline "the Ezomytes", Ezomytes in PoE 1 are a race that lives west to Sarn on an island, this particular type worship Gods named "The First Ones" which are animal deities. The First Ones are Craiceann, The Deep One; Fenumus, The First Night; Farrul, The First Plains; Saqawal, The First Skies; The Greatwolf and Mother Gull. All of these are uniques in PoE 1 that grants powerful unique items. As on the lore, Geonor must be relative or related to Rigwald, which is King of the Ezomytes. EDIT: Also the poem may refer to the war Eternals have with Ezomytes, which is not a true war at all due to Eternals being simply an Empire too powerful to be defeated.
@@TheRealZaszGaming If I remember correctly, there's a certain npc who mentioned that Geonor wasn't appointed as a count by his people, but he was born with it. He even possessed that greatsword too, an heirloom of the highest hierachy of Ezomytes' nobility.
When the wolf guy starts reciting poetry while his minions attack you and he ambushes you on tempo, that is peak boss design and mechanics. I beat this guy finally and all I can think about is wanting to run it again. Bravo to the devs.
@CodyEstes-s3p yeah. Absolutely. My favorite part of the fight. He actually has 6 different poems or so. It's awesome because if you fight him more than once, you can learn more lore. My favorite boss by a mile. Thanks for the comment. Have a great day!
@NuclearCha0s I agree! If you go back and fight him multiple times you can see he has 6 or so different poems he will say during the fog phase, and all of the poems give you lore drop. Really reminds me of the amazing bosses within Bloodbourne. Love the art and atmosphere of all the bosses. Thanks for commenting :)
@SmallestComponent one time he froze me during my jump attack and I feel to the ground and shattered. My jaw hit the floor, and then he did it again. Great boss with an awesome moveset!
@blacklight1104 Yeah, it's super personal. Up close, it's your hammer and this evil demonic dude. It was such a great fight! Thanks for commenting, my fellow warrior!
@@darklight0_1 Fellow warrior! imagine the dopamine hits the heavy stuns your slams cause and especially when you finish him off with a perfect strike. Hits justttt righttt. *chef's kiss
Geonor is extra special because you fight him when your character is not yet fully geared and fully specced with the key Passives and Support Gems. When fighting him you have to memorize his moveset and stay focused.
Beginner here.Best tutorial out there even tho if its not a tutorial . All other tutorials just say do this do that .Fu I've tried everything but my dude was not prepared for this . Yea i got a saphire charm but that is the only cold i got because ive spent it all on unnecessary shit i thought i needed. Tryed to kill this boss 4 days in a row now. Atleast 40 tryes now and i am close to punch my monitor but i can't its to expensive . Fuck this game i love it ;)
@Wazziish thank you for your compliment! It's a challenging boss, and honestly, people can over complicated things a bit. Best I can say is learn what he's saying and the attack that comes after, and DON'T ROLL when he does lighting from on high. Just walk around it, lol if you need any help in the future I'm always down to help if I'm available. Have a great day and enjoy the game!
Was that your first attempt at the boss? I just beat him today myself on a ranger, but couldn't do it solo, i got close several times, but ended up getting frustrated, and got a friend to assist me with the fight :)
@Syrillion2 it wasn't my first attempt. I beat him the first time with 2 others, and honestly, it was more difficult because of the massive health and damage increase. This is at level 22, and my first solo attempt. Thanks for the comment :)
@darklight0_1 i feel like this boss was the first real power spike in difficulty personally, i wasn't really struggling against any of the other bosses throughout act 1. And no worries, it was a great watch seeing your work against the count :)
@Syrillion2 thanks! I appreciate it. I'm thinking of doing every boss when I reach endgame and compiling them together. The bosses just have amazing esthetic and art styles. I love the game so far!Nice job on the clear. He's tough. If you enjoyed fighting him, you'll love the rest of the game.
The amount of guys that come at you in the mist is dumb. They only put that many in so you get stuck on them and the boss gets cheep hits with nothing you can do about it. This game need A LOT of tweeking
As Night Falls
Winter's chill sought the unworthy
Through an endless night.
They wither and tarry,
Forsaken frosts as cold as death,
Of Beyra's misery.

@lodunost the "Your pulse quickens" poem is my favorite!

Gaming for nearly 3 decades. There are may be 4 or 5 moments that hit me as heavy as this encounter. Simply amazing.
@@dammerunq an absolute gen of a boss for sure. It was incredible!

This boss is so cool that you can lose to him 10 times in a row and still want to keep trying just to see how awesomely he kills you next time.

True!
I love how personal this fight is for the warrior. Makes me glad I fought with him as the warrior first.

you can literally roll through them and the roll can be endlessly spammed, skill issue
Yeah this is a non-issue for any character if you play decently and don't have the worst gear.
Hate to be the one saying this but....git gud. Or like the other guy said get better gear.
I'll tell you a secret, it's called difficulty and the intended design to make the fight challenging. All characters have roll dodge, just use it.
