I bought rolls of ribbon at JoAnns to match my shirts. I bought a sunhat. Then I cut a length or ribbon to wrap around the hat with enough to make a bow. So I only needed one hat and with the different ribbons to match all of my outfits.
All great tips! Things I would add: •Small dry erase board to leave your notes to each other and cabin steward •Travel-sized Lysol for those after bathroom moments •Skin-safe sanitizing wipes (you can get travel packs for $1 at most retailers ) so you can wipe down surfaces or your hands in a pinch •Small bedside pop-up bin to collect all your things when you head to bed, like jewelry, lip balm, cruise cards, etc. •Reusable water bottle/travel mug so you don’t have to go to a bar or back to the buffet a hundred times (I apologize if I missed it in your video) •Choose solids when packing toiletries because they don’t count towards your liquids limit and won’t leak in your luggage: shampoo, conditioner, body and hand salves, sunscreens, bug balms, etc. Happy travels!
My only suggestion that was not mentioned (perhaps mentioned in a packing video) is a second bathing suit. It takes up basically no space, but you will never want to put on a wet (or even worst, damp) suit for an afternoon/evening swim after a morning swim. I am constantly in and out of the pool, but also wanting to participate in all the activities too and you can’t be in a wet suit for trivia or high tea in the dinning room.

Binoculars, hook magnets, packing cubes, luggage tag holders, lanyards for our cards, toiletry hanging bag, jewelry bag - great suggestions and worked like a charm.
I always bring a small ( 3 oz) travel sized spray bottle filled with hair detangler for when I'm on snorkeling excursions.Makes it a lot easier to brush out my hair when I get back on the catamaran.Make sure to cover the opening with a small piece of plastic wrap before putting the lid on so it doesn't leak in your toiletry bag.
I just booked my first cruise for me and 10 yr old daughter. The packing list so helpful a lot of these things I didn't even think of I would have been lost.
I always take dryer sheets and a few laundry detergent pods. I use the dryer sheets between clothes, it keeps them smelling nice and should I have to do laundry for any reason, I use them for that. The laundry detergent pods I put in a ziplock bag for any laundry needs. Works really great!
I ordered a pack of 4 clear luggage tags for my Princess Cruises a few years ago.The long narrow ones fit their paper tags. They work great but I always put an extra copy of the cruise'' luggage info inside each suitcase just in case the tag comes off!
I always use a very large clear trash bag or two essentially creating a lining for soft-sided or hard-sided luggage. Two reasons: leakage from other people's bags inflight (happened to friends who packed the allowed two bottles of wine in their checked bags) and rainy/snowy weather while being transported. I did this on a trip to Mexico, my husband thought it was overkill. I watched as a sudden rainstorm soaked everyone's bags on the loading ramp. A life hack to keep your necklaces from getting tangled up: string them through bendy straws that you can get from the grocery store. It’s never let me down before!
I pack a round 7 day medicine holder from dollar tree. I put Tylenol, Advil, heart burn med. ECT. To take on shore excursions. I put it in a baggie to keep dry. Works great.
My sister told me about your tips here on RUclips and you gave me quite a few good suggestions. I only did a cruise once many moons ago (before cellphones were a necessity) and it was just for four days, but now I'm taking a 9 day cruise so this gives me a lot of ideas. Thanks.
Thank you I have learned so much from your video. My husband and I are retired and travel a bit. The best thing has been the packing cubes. Love them !!!

Going on my very 1st cruise August. This is SO helpful! Thank you. Packing early so I don't forget anything.Starting to get excited, but nervous too. ☆☆
I love all your videos! This time I need to make a correction. Flushable wipes are not encouraged on a cruise ship since it is similar to a septic tank. So leave the wipes at home or throw them into a waste basket or you might experience a backed-up toilet! Yikes!
I use sea bands and wear them on the day we leave the port. I usually don't need them by the next day. If we hit a storm while at sea I definitely put them back on. I like your suggestion about bringing baggies. I like to collect sea shells and never thought to bring them.
I absolutely love your channel. I’m going on my FIRST! (of hopefully many more in the future) cruise in August and I’m so excited! I’ve learned so much helpful information from you and feel like I’ll be better prepared!
Hi! I love your videos and cruising advice. We just returned from our 12th cruise which was a 15 day cruise through the Panama Canal. I made multiple purchases on amazon based on your suggestions but ended up never needing the items and returning them to amazon. For example, I purchased the magnetic hooks and clips. There wasn’t one single wall of our cabin that was metal so the hooks/clamps wouldn’t work. I never used the over the door organizer nor the mesh laundry bag nor the first aid kit (although bandaids are essential for days of lots of walking in new sandals). Your packing list suggestions are wonderful; I’d just advise cruisers to really think about what they really need in order to avoid overspending and overpacking. Having said all of that, maybe we didn’t need all of those extra things because we were traveling with no children and we stayed in a Haven Suite which includes extra amenities such as extra storage space, laundry services, a butler (we didn’t know what to do with a butler lol) etc. Anyway, thank you for the time you put into trying to make our vacation the best. Our next cruise is this summer and I will definitely be reviewing your videos!
Thank you so much for these videos!!! I know we are going on our first cruise in 2023, yes I know long ways away lol but I like to look at what I need now rather then waiting tell the last minute and see what we can use on more cruises. I use a battery operated tea light "candle" as a bathroom night light. It provides just enough light and prevents that groping for the light and accidentally turning on the cabin lights! 😳
I got a lovely dress I was going to wear on my cruise for a cruise this year and another outfit too for a formal night so I will definitely use those next time I cruise
We go on our first cruise March 2022. I’ve learned so much from you and other vloggers. I’ve started buying things we needed and don’t have much more to buy. Thank you so much for all your help.
How exciting!! Cruising is definitely a bit different than other forms of travel so good to get as many tips as you can. Don’t stress though - just get what you think you need (everyone is different)
@@LifeWellCruised I will be fine I think. I’ve gotten so many great tips. I have even purchased new luggage. I can’t wear heals any more. I bought me some lovely sandals and the match more than one outfit for my cruise. I even bought some formal clothing for us both. It will be funny watching my country husband dressing up. He’s a retired electrician and loves his t-shirts and jeans. Our 34th wedding anniversary is the first day of the cruise. We aren’t much for drinking alcohol but may splurge for a glass of champagne that night.
I just ordered a pack of heavy duty magnetic hooks from Amazon. The ones I used on the last cruise werent strong enough for any type of beach bag or backpack.Of course when I pack it up the night before a port day, I leave or on a chair or the floor because it will be heavier. Those magnets are great for hanging hats, glasses, bathing suits or a light jacket to be handy by the door. Also for hanging a cute nautical sign.
some good tips. like the nite lite. We now use a small back pack when wandering about or shopping. easy to slip on and , leaves both hands empty. in cabin we (n0 kids) use clip hooks on wall. also use small tea lites, batery, get them at dollar tree 2 for $1.00(US). just about everything else on your list is the same as ours. Going to tell her about the small hair dryer. bet it packs good. Be Safe

Nice video- One topic that might be nice to include as part of one of your future videos is what you can / cannot bring and should pack when cruising during the time of Covid and what documentation you should bring. Examples- Is it allowed or should you bring a spray can of Lysol or a large bottle of sanitizer. Is liquid sanitizer allowed or only the gel type? Also if bringing them how do you pack them so they do not leak. Should you bring paper or cloth masks and how many? etc.
Great suggestion! Bring honest I’d like to make a video about what’s required ect but things are changing all the time. I’m hoping for more stability so the info is correct
Love all your tips and I especially appreciate that you aren't a skimpy packer as I not either. LOL We are going on an Alaskan Cruisetour (1st time) that will have us traveling for 2 weeks so I want to be prepared instead of spending our dream vacation wishing I would have brought this or that to make our trip most enjoyable. Thanks for all the awesome ideas.
A few years back I got a zipper cosmetic bag. And as I found chargers on-sale we got them and I keep the chargers battery packs etc in cosmetic bags and that stays at the bottom of my carry on bag and never have to worry about remembering chargers on any trip. It has the euro ugs so I am ready to go any where

We just want to survive for 5 nights on a cruise, the lists you are giving us is costing a lot of place in the bag, on the pocket as well. It feels as though I am carrying half of my home with me. Please give us a survival guide not a stay in cruise guide.
I’ve taken two transatlantic cruises and always take at least two changes of clothes per day. One casual, for daytime and another, more formal for dinner and dancing. I happen to like dresses so I pack quite a few for both day and night. I also have dress pants that I pair up with ‘fancy’ tops. I think what matters is that your comfortable with what you are wearing be it casual or formal. If being casual makes you the happiest feel free to rock that look.
@@gailcreighton5484 love your attitude Gail. Someone told me recently that we may all be on the same cruise, but we are all having a different vacation:)
Only thing I don't bring anymore is the oversized towel clips. We just got some small metal clothes pins (they're plastic covered) from the dollar store. They work just as well :) I have taken the big ones like you had, but ours didn't make it in our luggage. They were smashed on our flight. Don't ever flush flushable wipes!! Especially on the ship. They don't break down and clog up sewer systems. We had our local company send out a desperate plea not to after they had to clear a massive blockage and it was all wipes.
Hi Ilana, can’t thank you enough for all your tips. My husband and I are going on a Mexican Riviera cruise in January with Princess. It’s been a few years since our last one and your videos really help..do you have any recommendations which travel insurance to use? There are so many online but not sure how to tell which ones are good. Thank you 🙏
Hello Do you have a video or perhaps can create one with this content “Methods step by step on how to pack your clothes wrinkle free for a cruise trip especially that you cannot bring an iron. Thank you☺️
Hi Ilana we just went out for a coffee and my wife said to me "do you think this blazer would be suitable for our cruise" and as usual I said "yes dear". The only reason I mention it is that we're not going till December so apparently we are packing already lol. By the way my wife never travels anywhere without a pashmina and she always puts those little packets of creamer powder in her handbag or purse as you call it over there lol
Love that!! Feels like cruising is closer when we can think about cruise outfits again! The pashmina is a great item to bring. So glad you mentioned it :)
i wish i could be a light packer , ive eliminated down to 4 changes 1 winter pants socks 1 cardigan runners sandles and things 1 dress for formal night but it still weighs a tonn
I like trying to do a capsule wardrobe to mix and match but I do bring at least two pairs of heels. I'm struggling with how to pack for a transatlantic cruise. The most I've done is a 7 day. Do I bring for 7 day and wash it, pack for 10 days and wash, options options. Do I want to drag big bags... Not all magnets are created equal so choose wisely.
I like that idea. If you add an extra dress or pair of pants and a couple tops it would work. I’ve heard people say that on a TA there’s more time so a wash isn’t a bad idea either I agree on magnet hooks!!! Strong ones 💪
@@LifeWellCruised very true, I'm not packing 16 days but plan on flying into Rome 4 days before so I need street clothes for sure which will probably do for the ports. But I can't live without my dresses. 😇👗So I might try to separate my fabrics for lighter weight ones. And I might find something amazing in Rome. So I should leave room.
Glad you enjoyed the video Debra. Hmmm should I make a men’s packing video? I have a men’s clothing packing list in a few of my blog posts, but not sure what other info could be helpful. Im open to suggestions:)

I would love to see your “after” you’re packed. I can’t fit all of this in my suitcase 😢
Great cruise day 😀
Love all your tips and I especially appreciate that you aren't a skimpy packer as I not either. LOL We are going on an Alaskan Cruisetour (1st time) that will have us traveling for 2 weeks so I want to be prepared instead of spending our dream vacation wishing I would have brought this or that to make our trip most enjoyable. Thanks for all the awesome ideas.
Thank you for the help ! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
A few years back I got a zipper cosmetic bag. And as I found chargers on-sale we got them and I keep the chargers battery packs etc in cosmetic bags and that stays at the bottom of my carry on bag and never have to worry about remembering chargers on any trip. It has the euro ugs so I am ready to go any where
Smart tip!! I like the idea of leaving things already “packed” & ready
Anything you show is great and helpful and appreciated
Thanks so much!
@@LifeWellCruised I appreciate that you responded to me have you been to Bahamas I am going to two ports there can you recommend anything thanks cheap on budget I am going carnival conquest July27 July1
@@MFARAJR1018 I’m going to Nassau in a few weeks and we decided on Margaritaville resort for the day. I’ll create a video about it. Otherwise there is a free beach, but I haven’t been there
I should remember stuff I did Canada cruise from NYC on Carnival where I live but that was 2013 so forgot everything all I remember is food
Don’t forget extra undergarments for those ashore Excursions and boarding if you start out with your bathing suit
Just got recommended to your channel & love the info & your presentation style. 💜
Awe thanks so much!! So glad you’re here
Thanks for the ideas!
Glad they could be helpful! Thanks for taking the time to comment & watch :)
Great 👍🏻 Content !
We just want to survive for 5 nights on a cruise, the lists you are giving us is costing a lot of place in the bag, on the pocket as well. It feels as though I am carrying half of my home with me. Please give us a survival guide not a stay in cruise guide.
I don‘t remember my wife even taking a dress on our transatlantic repositioning cruise !
That’s totally fine. People don’t need to wear dresses. I like to, but I know others who prefer pants or jeans
Great tips!!!
So glad you found the video helpful 👍
Only thing I don't bring anymore is the oversized towel clips. We just got some small metal clothes pins (they're plastic covered) from the dollar store. They work just as well :) I have taken the big ones like you had, but ours didn't make it in our luggage. They were smashed on our flight.
Don't ever flush flushable wipes!! Especially on the ship. They don't break down and clog up sewer systems. We had our local company send out a desperate plea not to after they had to clear a massive blockage and it was all wipes.
Good point - even if they aren’t flushed, on shore excursions I find they can be handy to have, or baby wipes :)
@@LifeWellCruised oh definitely! We bring baby wipes everywhere. Our son is 7 and we still use them lol
❤ love your video
I love all of videos you are very helpful thanks Chelsea NYC
don't forget clothes pins, cruise ships have clothes lines inside the shower stall
Thank you 🙏
I have a bad time with the formal dress or dresses…i only have a carryon and will travel to Europe for a 15 day cruise…still deciding😩
Hello, I am going to Iceland and Norway cruise. Can you also provide packing list for those cold countries? I am going in August 2023
Hello Do you have a video or perhaps can create one with this content “Methods step by step on how to pack your clothes wrinkle free for a cruise trip especially that you cannot bring an iron. Thank you☺️
Great question. I have a blog post, but a future video is an awesome idea! lifewellcruised.com/how-to-pack-wrinkle-free-for-a-cruise/
Mine is not until March but I'm already going through my cruise stash to see what I have so I know what to buy before the seasonal items disappear.😊
Thank you 🤗💕
Thanks for the info. Our next cruise isn’t until February and it’s been so long I’m afraid I’ll forget something!! 😬
I know the feeling! Mine is in Jan and I will definitely be making a list to make sure (were out of practice 😂)
i wish i could be a light packer , ive eliminated down to 4 changes 1 winter pants socks 1 cardigan runners sandles and things 1 dress for formal night but it still weighs a tonn
I always bring the revlon brush but last cruise i decided to take my Dyson instead and it didn’t work 😩 so ladies, the revlon def works well
Thank you .!!
wow, thank you .
What about a blood pressure cuff to bring on carry on bag
I like trying to do a capsule wardrobe to mix and match but I do bring at least two pairs of heels. I'm struggling with how to pack for a transatlantic cruise. The most I've done is a 7 day. Do I bring for 7 day and wash it, pack for 10 days and wash, options options. Do I want to drag big bags...
Not all magnets are created equal so choose wisely.
I like that idea. If you add an extra dress or pair of pants and a couple tops it would work. I’ve heard people say that on a TA there’s more time so a wash isn’t a bad idea either
I agree on magnet hooks!!!
@@Star-Boarder great points! Beautiful trip btw!!
I’m going on my first cruise at the end of April. I’m super excited but super clueless about what to pack.
Hope this was helpful. Please let me know if you have questions
@@LifeWellCruised it was helpful. So much so that I think I’ll need a bigger suitcase lol 😂
For Awhile I thought you were saying Light Bulb Cruise 😂. I guess its my Philadelphia ear.
Thanks so much for this info. I do pack just about everything that you mentioned. What about items that are men specific??
Glad you enjoyed the video Debra. Hmmm should I make a men’s packing video? I have a men’s clothing packing list in a few of my blog posts, but not sure what other info could be helpful. Im open to suggestions:)
Thanks
My pleasure! Thanks for watching:)
No to flushable wipes…..they don’t degrade properly and can potentially clog plumbing. Do not use them anywhere!!
Can you bring wine onto the cruise HAL
I found it helpful and enjoyable
Like to see Amazon parking items
Due you have to have a suit for formal night?
