I love the story of your 'favourite quilt'. I'm so pleased to know something great came out of that horrible experience for you. I was at the Sydney Expo the day your bag was taken, doing the Bernina Love patch workshop and we were really embarrassed about that whole situation. As I'm watching this video, I'm actually quilting the pieces of Slow and Steady, making up my own version of the A Place for Everything bag that you had, that was gorgeous and my entire motivation for buying that whole collection! I'm not a fast quilter at all, with machine or EPP. Wow 7 days for the Tula Nova, I'm already at a year with half done. I'm not a monogamous quilter, knitter or painter!
My favorite part of today’s video is Tula and Kimberly interacting together, how they are each unique in how they view themselves. I enjoyed watching them today.
I made a simple fence rail quilt from a Tula pink jelly roll I got in a Sew Sampler box. I just wanted to do something with it. I had it laid out on the floor and my three-year-old granddaughter walked in and said, “Mama Beth, is this for Skye?” She fell in love with it and I had to give it to her.
Tula Pink is a designer genius! Whether she fits your style or not has no relevance. What Kobe Bryant is to basketball, what Steve Jobs was to technology, Tula Pink is to the quilting design world. She has and is changing the platform of quilting. I’m in awe of her genius. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
I luv her story about the bag that came up “missing” and the generosity of the quilting community so she could make the beautiful quilt that she quilted herself. Beautiful quilt and story💕
I loved the story about Tula's favorite quilt that came to be after her bag "disappeared." My heart sunk all her hard work was gone, but was inspired by the generosity of the quilt community. The final outcome was GORGEOUS!
Loved Everything in this video... Favorite story was the taken bag and the love of the quilting community at the show who made it possible for Tula to make the stunning quilt
This was totally Tula Pink pure awesomeness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got into quilting in the late 90's because of Kaffe. All your design influences are my go to too. William Morris was the original king of design. thank you for this awesome 2 hours of greatness xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I laughed so hard when Tula talked about her first meeting with Angela Walters! I've met Angela, and she is so sweet. That was definitely my favorite part! I could totally see Tula going, "you're not Angela" and Angela being so confused! LOL!
Off and on I had only heard of Tula Pink products but had nooooo idea Tula was a person let alone a designer. I am so ecstatic that I watched this episode and now I am mega inspired. I absolutely love the new collections and can’t wait to get my hands on them. I am still relatively new to sewing and primarily focused on apparel. However I noticed lately quilting is starting to take hold, so a quilt is in my near future 💕 Great episode gals!
Love everything about her - she’s so real and down to earth, yet wonderfully humble. I enjoyed her family stories and how they handle working together and never said anything negative about them. She’s such an inspiration.,❤️💯
I am a very traditional quilter.. all of Tula's fabric is way out of my box. Having said that, I love all the color and movement in her fabrics and absolutely loved listening to her and her stories. Some day I will at least make a table runner or small quilt and remember all the joy I found watching this video (had to watch replay). I love how genuine she is, not at all stuck up and impressed with herself which is something a lot of designers are not able to claim. Thank you Kimberly and Fat Quarter Shop for having this amazing woman as a guest. Looking forward to the videos you make with her. Must add the Fat Quarter Shop is my absolutely favorite....from videos, to product, to customer service and everything in between.. you all do an amazing job. Thank you.
I loved hearing all Tula's thoughts about her quilting processes, sleeping under her best quilt and the best fabric goes on the back because that's what touches the people you love! Such interesting insights she has!
My favorite part is the first quilt Tula shows about her experience in Australia. The generosity of her spirit in forgiveness when we can be seething about it. What a lovely ❤️ you have, Tula, and glad things came back tenfold for you!! Your fabrics and colors are glorious!
Ok I so was fan girling the whole time watching--if that is even possible! I think I had every alarm and notifier set so I wouldn't miss this live! lol I so enjoyed this livestream. Getting to know her better was awesome! Kudos FQS! She is so very talented. Love her down to earth approach to designing quilts and fabrics. Her stories were great. Except the part where her bag was stolen-what is wrong with people? 😖Everything means something to her and it shows in her designs. So awesome! K off to FQS to buy more Tula fabricsLol. Thanks y'all!!
My favorite thing of todays live stream was Tulas stories, her fabric lines are so amazing-but she is super interesting and cool! I hope to meet her soon one day! OMG, to have something from her signed may just make my year :). Thanks so much today, it was great getting to know this lady I consider a friend :). Truely an inspiration!
I have made many Tula quilts she is amazing. I am a 62 year old grandma and my family loves Tula. A few years ago I left work early to go to my local quilt shop in Brainerd Minnesota and meet Tula . Tula is very a very interesting young woman. Thanks for the video
I am so impressed with 50 quilts a year! That is crazy. Your quilts are beautiful Tula! Thank you so much for all the trunk show. Love checking out all those quilts. I hope one day you make a book with pictures of all the quilts you have made over the years like a coffee table book.
I remember when Tula's EPP bag was taken. Even though it wasn't returned, I was happy to hear that such a great story came out of it. Good always wins.
This was so awesome! Tula is such a sweet person and it was nice listening to how she got started and her process about learning. Sometimes I think we feel like well known designers have just been born quilting. Lol. She made us realize that we all have had to start somewhere and how possible it is to learn and be successful at quilting or whatever we set our mind to. My favorite idea that she gave.... was how to use the fabric that we hoard because we don’t want to cut it up.... is to make something beautiful to enjoy and see that fabric every day. 😊 Thank you FQS for all you do 😍
1 thing I like about Tula.....there is NO way I can answer this. I really enjoyed this entire episode with the stories that lends itself to the personal journey of one of the most amazing designers. Can't wait for Homemade to come out.
Tula is beautiful inside and Out. I absolutely loved seeing quilts she made and the story of how she met Angela Waters! Priceless! Her history on how she got started and designing of her fabric is so interesting and she has a great sense of humor. Thank you Fat Quarter Shop for having her there. You're the best!
Thanks FQS for having this LS with Tula. I have loved her fabric since she started designing. I am a lover of fussy cutting and sewing hexies is so relaxing. Her fabric is just so beautiful. I love hearing the story of her tattoos. I got my first tattoo when I was 50 and now have many and they all are sewing/quilting related. I especially loved the story of the smitten quilt and how it is a memory of the wonderful quilting community down under.
Thank you so much FQS to get to meet Tula Pink! I never even looked at Tula Pink fabric because I’m not a modern quilter. But after listening to her for two hours, I absolutely love her and my head is spinning with all these new ideas that have taken my sewing to a new level. Her quilts are beautiful and I had no idea how to visualize the beauty of her fabric in a quilt till she showed them. I don’t want this video to be over. I love your bags by Anne and will be making bags now. I just loved your story how you got started and will now be checking out your Tula Pink fabric line. Thank you so much! Hope we get to see you more.
I love Tula's fabric but I am now a huge fan after watching the show. Not only did I learn a lot but her own stories are awesome and we can see what great person she is!
Oh em gee. That was the BEST! I love her even more now. She's so real and funny and creative. My favorite part was the quilt she made with all of the fabric given to her when her bag was stolen and this is a biggie, CUT UP the fabric and use it so you can see it everyday, not in a drawer. SO TRUE. I have my "favorites" that are just sitting there because I don't want to cut them up. Get that thought right out of my head. Also, that she cross stitches! YES! I really hope she can find the time to create some cross stitch patterns -- that would be AMAZING!!!
Tula Pink is the most amazing story teller. I enjoyed this livestream very very much. She is such a wonderful artist. I also share her admiration of Angela Walters. Theses two ladies are my hero’s for piecing and quilting.
So for me, hands down, the best part of this video was Tula herself! I'm not creative in any way. I'm so impressed with her explanation of what works for her and why. She is so genuine and just so awesome!!
Loved to see Kimberly and Tula together you all just crack me up. And the best part of Tula is her eye for color, design, and her hidden surprises in her fabrics.
Tulips is so interesting to listen to . Her adventure through designing choice of color size or design so inspiring to listen to. For someone like myself you have these desires in the back of your mind that you’re afraid to try and listening to her would give anybody encouragement to follow their dreams. Being a quilter I’ve always admired and purchased Tula pink like to see who’s behind the amazing line of fabric was a treat for me today
Many years ago I was part of a bus 🚌 group that visited your mom’s quilt shop. I am so happy I got to meet you that day! I have been a fan girl a long time..🥰 the fabric that I bought that day was bubble gum pink with aqua mint rabbits.Thank you for sharing your stories ❤️
Yes, the fabrics and all the projects were just outstanding and so drool-worthy; but my favorite part of this LS was her sense of humor and her profound words of wisdom for the creative process and life in general. I mean, the scribbling on the first page of a new drawing journal so that the fear is taken away because everything else will naturally be better than the first page!! Wow! I will definitely be watching this again to catch all the nuggets. Thanks so much, FQS and Tula!!
Oh what did I like about the livestream...Everything! Tula Pink is sooo interesting! And I love that she was given all this time to chat about herself, her fabrics, her family and Kimberly, you are wonderful as an interviewer....you allowed Tula the time to answer the questions. So many times there is an agenda and the person being interviewed is rushed through what they are saying! I had to pause the video for an appointment and couldn't wait to get back home to finish watching it! Thanks to Lilly for handling all the questions and of course Tyler for showing off the quilts! Ok, now I have to go shop!!!
Tula is a creative genius. Who else would think to put the day's tide chart on the back of her quilt ⁉️ 🤯 (mind blown) I could watch and listen to her stories every day. Love her personality and creative thought process.
I throughly enjoyed Tula’s video. She is just a pleasure to listen to. Her fabric and quilts are beautiful! I love all things Tula! Thank you Tula!! And thank you Fat Quarter Shop for inviting her! ❤️❤️
I enjoyed all of the live stream! Tula comes across as a sincere caring person. As famous as she is in the quilt world she gives credit where it is due and truly appreciates everyone on her quilting/design journey.
Thanks for talking about the zipper bag pattern on the table to your right (our left)? It's just adorable!! I'm also headed to FQS now to have a look at the 30% off ByAnnie products. Thanks for letting us know about that. And Tula -- THANK YOU for your awesome fabric and the ideas and projects you share with us. You give so freely of yourself to our sewing/quilting community! All the best..... ALL the BEST!!
Tula is so inspirational. Luved listening to her beginning, the stole bag story and the very giving quilting community. Cant' wait for the Tula videos.
I love Tula's ability to share details of her personal life. I found myself saying, "me too!" so many times. I really appreciate everyone in the Tula Pink family for the amazing brand that they have created and the ability to make all of us feel apart of it!
I loved the story about all the love and support she got from everyone at the Australian Quilt Expo that she was able to make a complete quilt with. Such a great community!
Tula Pink was fantastic. Loved seeing her quilts but also enjoyed hearing her talk about the process of designing her quilts. I also had no idea what all was required to design fabric. Tula was fun, educational, and I enjoyed every minute.
Tula and Kimberly, this episode was amazing. It was so motivational and you both just make a person feel good! Some comments that Tula made really spoke to me. She said "The best fabric should be on the back because that's the part that touches a person." And that's why we make quilts, to touch someone we care about! Thank you for all of these videos...they really touch us in so many ways!!!! :)
Today’s live stream was awesome. Thank you so much Kimberly for having Tula on . I loved to hear Tula talk about her design process and showing her new fabrics. I’m a Tula Pink junky ever since I discovered her about 2 years ago. My hubby always knows when I go looking for fabric I’m always coming out with at least some of Tula pink. I just finished my lap quilt of 100 modern blocks with Tula pink fabric and now I’m learning to English paper piecing and using Tula pink so I really would be on cloud nine if I was to receive her items. Once again thank you for the awesome live stream.
My favorite part of the video was Tula’s stories. She is a great storyteller and I felt we got to know her much better. Her Australian story was the best. Her quilt from that experience is phenomenal! Thanks for sharing so much of yourself.
Thank you Kimberly and Tula. Love you both, both of you are very inspirational. Tula I love your fabrics are so free and happy with colour and design. You both have helped me be more creative with in myself than was snubbed for so long. Thanks for your story telling Tula absolutely love that. To me that is what a quilt is about. Thank you to you amazing people. Tula, Kimberly and all of your staff. Please keep being you. Very great full.
Tula is so cute! And soooo talented! What would the quilting community have done without her fabrics?!? Thanks, Tula. And thanks for sharing about your family (that takes a lot of gumption and vulnerability, and that can be scary. You go, girl!
Loved everything about this LS. Tula Pink is my absolute favorite designer and I could listen to her speak all day. Love her design sensibilities, color work, sense of humor, way of story telling.
I never really thought of myself as a Tula Pink person. Her designs are so unique but not me UNTIL I watched this!! Oh my goodness! She makes every design come to life! You can tell her mind never stops. It’s awesome that her family is so involved in the business. I loved her “expo” quilt from Australia- I don’t remember what it was called- but the way everyone came together with pieces of material for her and all. That quilt just exudes LOVE. ❤️❤️❤️ Great video!
It's my first time to get to listen to Tula, I am so very impressed by this conversation, so much information sharing. Connected to my heart and brain, if that makes sense. My time, like everyone else's is limited, so I decided to turn this on while sewing, I ended up several times, sitting in front of the computer listening intently. Thanks from the bottom of my heart for all that all of you do to keep the sewing world moving!
Getting up @2am in Australia to watch Tula’s live stream did not disappoint. You are an amazing designer! The amount of work and consideration that goes into your designs like making sure your repeat design fits into 25”. You are infectious Tula and totally evolved my quilting journey from Reproduction to Modern💕 Thank you so much for sharing and letting us into your world( and Cameron & Lily)
Tula is fascinating to watch and listen to. She is the "most interesting wo/man" in the quilting world!! I really enjoyed hearing the "why" behind everything. She's very intentional in a creative way and I loved hearing how she works with family and fascinated that she lives in a building with her brother. I was sorry for the video to end!!
I loved the Q & A with. Tula. She is totally amazing!! I loved the story about her making the amazing quilt from the generosity of the Australian quitters. I also liked how she designs. She has inspired me to get back to English paper piecing and not to think that I am going to be able to Geta quilt like that done in a short amount of time. I need to embrace the process and just enjoy something still creative but a different medium and pace. Thanks so much for the encouragement!! I have made3 quilts withTula's fabric in the last 4 months. I love it and can't wait for homemade to come out. I want to do the spool quilt. I have always liked the spool pattern and have made one, but I gave that one away for an auction for charity. So this one would be for me, I. think. 🤔 Anyway just loved the time with Tula, you rock as well as FQS!!1
I am really new to this RUclips thing at the ripe old age of 62 and it has really opened up my world, the timing was perfect because my husband and I have just become empty nesters and I really miss my sons while I am very proud and happy for them I needed something to fill the gap. So have taken to sewing mainly quilts and because of Tula I now want to get into bags. I have been following Fat Quarter Shop and you are my new besties I am my own person never followed the trends I know what I like and like what I know. I have so the last 40 yrs devoted to my husband and sons and now it’s Margie time this was always my choice so the 3 men in my life are very supportive and truly excited with me. Thank you beautiful ladies you have inspired me and Tula loving listening about you story.💕💕💕
My favorite part of this video is hearing the process of how Tula designs fabric and all the thought that goes into designing. So interesting. She is an amazing person.
love Tula Pink! She is sooooo cool! Now that I heard her talk I love her fabric and notions even more! Absolutely loved the story about her quilt from the Australian quilt show pieces. Also loved what she shared about her dog. Thank you Kimberly and FQS for sharing this Q&A with us!
I loved the whole stream but the one thing I am excited about the tip she gave with the tiles. I am in love with Tula Pinks Fabric and her tools. I think she is an amazing artist and love listening to her. Loved hearing all of the stories.
The best thing I loved about this livestream was Tula herself. She is just a genuine person and so likeable. And I loved the seeing her quilts.

This was one of my favorites! To narrow this down, her cutting her mom’s curtains was great!🤣
Took me back to The Sound of Music!

Tula is a bonafide genius and we are so honored to be a recipient of her work! Yea Tula!

Hello 👋
I am relatively new to FQS.. and Tula. This is great! Neither of you two are allowed to retire. LOL
Thank you for all you both do!
What a wonderful time spent with Tula! we got to know her and her thought process. She is truly a down to earth person.
loved the story about the lost bag and how the community all pitched in and a beautiful quilt was the result
Tula Pink is the rock star of fabric designers! I love anything sewing themed so I just absolutely love her new collection. I can’t wait to get some!
Loved this video. Tula is just incredible! So much talent. It is great her family works with her.
No wait shes My favorite fabric designer. I can always pick it out.
What a fantastically creative mind. I appreciate how she values her family and their input. Great video.
So love Tula’s authenticity. Thx Tula☮️💜🌈🦋
I believe this was the best Tula Pink interview I’ve seen, I loved how open she was as a quilter who designs.
Tule is so genuine, informative, fun and amazingly creative. This video is the best video done with her. Thank you.
Now to watch it again!
Loved the live stream with Tula she amazing! My favorite part was hearing the back story of her tattoos so interesting!!!
I loved the stories about her dog Lilly and her family. It helps understand her humanity and generous spirit.
I love Tula's passion for her work.
I loved everything on this video. Tula has great stories and is so inspirational!!! Love, love, love her flag quilt!!!
Tula is the best. I love her stories and sense of humour, however it was fantastic to see her love of family, especially working with her mum.
love Tula Pink!
