Roman, I love the Watch News Weekly format. I hope you will continue to this format going forward.
You mentioned you are wearing a 36 MM. I have been thinking about 36, but hesitate to buy one. From your perspective, is demand/sales from men growing in this segment or is it only for vintage buyers? Love to see this topic discussed in your next weekly video.
Rolex wants to try and leverage the CPO program to control used Rolex sales through its ADs. I could see the ADs trying to steer new customers into used product to earn the right to buy a new Rolex in the future, like the AD uses its jewelry today. As of now, I will buy from the grey market rather then pay the CPO premium. The one variable is if the AD can set its own price for CPO stock independent of Rolex. After all, why am I paying over retail for a used watch at the AD?
Real question is how many watches that are “full sets” Frankenstein together……….. that is the main question you ask yourself when buying second hand market!
You bring up a great point. If Rolex refurbishes the watch to bring it into mint condition, is it a Frankenstein watch? Or is it a used watch in pristine condition? Maybe Roman can weigh in with his expert opinion.

CPO program is the only way the AD will have inventory.
At least in their showcases. The AD’s have Rolex watches in their safe. This is a known fact.

I don’t think Rolex would do it, but the ADs will. So instead of buying jewelry you don’t want, the AD will only sell you a CPO watch above retail.

Exactly. However, Rolex watches are pretty reliable, like a Toyota, so I don’t bother to pay the premium for CPO on my cars that I buy.

CPO premium is covering the risk of your purchase being a fake. Not all dealers are as respectable as those making this video. Those without a trusted dealer, or buying blind online, will (should?) pay the premium.
Imagine a world where you go to merc or bmw to buy a CPO vehicle at a higher price than a brand new vehicle.

CPO rolex although most of the watches looks brand new or near mint, they are still asking $2-$4k above what good grey market resellers can sell it. Why would i buy a CPO 40mm ceramic sub for $15k when MSRP is about $9k and resellers are averaging $12-$13,500??? This bubble is going to burst and Rolex is going to regret it.

Limit something to increase popularity only working with items already popular but not enough to command high demand. . Who cares about LV watches? Literally nobody. If they limit them people easily forget LV actually makes watches. LV can produce very limited collaborations with best watch makers and LV + watchmaker names on a dial. That might increase LV watches popularity but IMHO clothing brand name on men''s watch can create short interest in hype crowd but never gonna work for general watch enthusiast community and less limited LV releases. IT is funny coz watches are actually good. Sometimes even better then popular watch brand releases.

The Rolex CPO program isn't going to be the big hit Rolex thinks it will be. There really is no value for the money, Rolex is just trying to disrupt the secondary market. Why pay more than the fair market price?? Always purchase from a honest secondary (grey market) dealer.

what you don't want to realize/say is there is something called "piece of mind", given there are so many shady dealers...I don't mind paying an extra 20% if direct from rolex, money is not important to me, my time is.
