I REMEMBER when the White album 1st came out this wasn't a favorite of mine/Now at 70 years old probably my most Favorite Track/Love the Background Vocals on this Track ⛅
It is said that John wrote “Good Night” with the idea that Ringo would sing it, not wanting to show his sweet side. However, at that time, John should have removed all the limiters surrounding himself and exposed everything due to Yoko's influence. It is strange that a man who released songs such as ”Two Virgins” and “Revolution 9'” that shattered not only the existing image of himself but also common sense, is too shy to sing even a simple lullaby. “Good Night” is a personal song that John sent to his son Julian. Considering the difficult position Julian was in at the time, it was a meaningful song for John to sing. But Julian says he didn't even know the song was meant for him. What exactly does this mean? Perhaps John had mixed feelings about this song. So I couldn't sing it myself. And those complicated feelings may have been the pain he felt toward Cynthia, who was considering divorce at the time. It may sound a bit sad, but I think that if Julian were the child of John and Yoko, he would have sung “Good Night” himself, just like “Beautiful Boy”. What do you all think?
Agree but go and listen to audio recordings by Cynthia entitled "John"... Eye-opening stuff re Aunt Mimi (bully of note) and also Yoko Ono (manipulating stalker of note)...go and listen folks...more I heard and read how Julian was not considered "firstborn son - which he was" and how Cynthia got a measly £75k divorce settlement after much wrangling from Mr Lennon, I no longer admired him and I was a HUGE fan of him he particular... Julian to this day has been abused mentally, financially and emotionally ... disgusting to say the least... Cynthia suffered too no doubt as she eventually died of cancer.... Fine lady, always was a true lady...
@@dennysmith7862 Thank you for your comment. John was a man who carried darkness and illness in his heart. Not only Cynthia, but others who were deeply involved with John have told of their experiences of being hurt by John in some way. Even Yoko Ono confessed that she was once physically assaulted by John. However, no one ever said that John was a bad person. If John is the worst human being, why is he so beloved… I also read the book Cynthia wrote. I was heartbroken by the terrible treatment Cynthia and Julian received. Cynthia also said that ‘the choices she made as a young man were mistakes’, But even so, she wrote, ‘I miss John in every sense of the word.’ That was a great relief to me. It is said that before John was shot, John and Julian were back to their original father-son relationship, where they could say anything to each other. With that in mind, I cannot completely deny John. Like everyone, John probably had his flaws as a person. But in music John has always been always honest. He still touches hundreds of millions of people with his music, He continues to inspire countless of many people as a human being with a real presence. And it will be the same in the future.
I never liked this song - but I never realized that the problem was in the arrangement. When I heard it in the first rehearsals - at Anthology - that's when I realized how good the harmony really was. Why did they let George Martim make a 50s-style arrangement?
John Lennon asked George Martin to make the song “the sweetest sound imaginable.” George Martin lived up to those expectations. However, when John heard that, he thought it was too much. Still, I think the reason they chose it was because of the trust and respect they had for George Martin. It's a beautiful song, and it's moving even without an orchestra. And If the Beatles' harmonies had not been rejected, the overall impression of the White Album might have changed.
@@ronniedrake8196 This version is a forced continuation of the original sound source without any modification. I think it would have been easier to listen to if the sound source had been processed, but... More than that, we placed importance on preserving the original sound. Therefore, I myself agree that there are deficiencies.
@@ばんばん-n5c Certainly “Good Night” is more suitable for “A Beginning”. It was a perspective that I didn't realize. Connecting it to “Good Night” makes it even more dreamy, but on the other hand, some people may find it too sweet. Both songs connect naturally when played consecutively, so I thought that was enough to satisfy me.
This piano performance is by George Martin himself. It was played just before recording the orchestra. I was moved by the performance. “Good Night” would have been wonderful arranged as a piano concerto! However, George Martin had the decency to not do that. I take my hat off to my judgment as an arranger and producer. The Beatles original is supreme and perfect. This version is just a parallel world-like play.
A perfect closing song to the greatest album ever.
They have reached immortality in the best of worlds !!!!
Beatles for ever!
Always loved this from the first time I heard it back in ‘68.
Lovely ......just lovely .....
Many times as a youth, this would be the song I would be playing as I fell asleep. The Beatles were the best friends I never met.
Those 🌃✋ were

Es una bella nana.
John también componía hermosas melodías.
Lennon wrote this beautiful song. It appeared in White album. It's the most beautiful children's song created by the Beatles.
He wrote it for Julian
John gave it to Ringo to sing because it was more suitable for Ringo. A good decision.
2024. My 1st time hearing this loving lullabye. Beautiful😊
Gracias
John é o melhor Beatle
Canzone bellissima dolce....molto rilassante
Lennon is the best Beatle
When my baby daughter wouldn’t sleep we sang this to her. It would send her to sleep in minutes
Same here, she’s into drum and bass now but always has a soft spot for The Beatles, especially Goodnight and The Long and Winding Road
Element of Frogs Chorus in this one. It's a good track.
It was a completely unexpected perspective.
It's so funny.
For example, John plays the bullfrog part.
Thank you.
Fucin johncrow ❤🎉😅
Really appreciate it ✋✋👋🙏🌹🙏✋

The background is aggressively loud. I don't mind the background if it wasn't for that.
Ringo sings
Could you please connect "a beginning" and "good night"? I think it sounds more natural than connecting "don't pass me by".

Background voices are not good.... unfortunately
Cancion americano/jolividense.
