I am a software engineer and I just quit a new PERFECT job! .. simply out of stress caused by Imposter Syndrome! I didn't know anyone to support me, and I am having a huge confidence crisis right now! I now feel panic if I get near my laptop. I started doubting even simple decisions I need to make... I am away from my country and feel too vulnerable...I don't know where to go for help

How’s it going? I’m a software developer too, this is my first job and I’m struggling too. This is my second week and some days I almost want to run but I’m working through the uncomfortable feelings day by day it’s not fun but … I hope things get better for you. Don’t lose hope

I think simple humility that you don't know everything and there is always something to learn can also make a big difference.

I know this is an old video but just wanted to put me two cents in. Whenever I was young, I was under extreme stress. Especially when joining the Marines. But I was able to handle it and didn't stress about it. What's different now,is that I have a family and a new job and it feels overwhelming. I thought about it and I think its because people are counting on me and I don't want to let them down. I can't fail. Need figure out how to deal with that.

I humbly believe that this video can easily be applied to life in general, not just about careers. As someone who's struggled with anxiety for 30 years, and only recently has started to change perspective and accept fear and anxiety and try to face them, hearing your words about getting more confident by facing what we fear (and that includes even the fear of errors and the perfectionism), I felt a sense of hope and help! Thanks!

Thank you, this helps me as a young female military member. I have so much trouble at work with making mistakes and being picked on. Having a new perspective on confidence being an emotion and failing being a natural part of the human experience is comforting.

Thank you Erin! I saw this through the newsletter in my inbox today & it was just what I needed to hear. Thanks for these little freebies for those of us who can't pay for a class/coach right now. Really makes such a great impact.

Wow 👌 Erin I must admit this is awesome video and you summed up my whole mind set and inner battles in few minutes. I work in a very high pressure environment and most people fail due to lack of resillience.

Unfortunately this advice does not apply to lawyers at large firms. If you are not a perfectionist as a lawyer you are not going to be a lawyer for long.

I also suffer from perfectionism, thought I had it under control. Im okay with making mistakes, to say I dont know how to do it, or ask questions. It actually does help also this perfectionism , for me anyway. It gives me confidence knowing I will do a good job ,give it 100 %, I do have an issue when I have done my best and worked hard at it, yet its not good enough for the lead.
Never pointing out anything positive, basically searching for something to point out that wasnt done or done how they want it done
