My first time hearing U2 was in 1985. I was 11 years old. It was on Live Aid. They created history with that performance. I’ve seen them live in my adult life and will say like the music or not their live shows are top notch. Not 1 person sitting for the entirety of the show. Such a great live band.
U2 are an Irish rock band formed in Dublin in 1976, comprising of Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen. They are one of the biggest rock bands in the world, with a huge catalogue of music. Some of my favourites are 'Pride', 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For', 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me', (from Batman Forever 1995), and 'Vertigo'. I've never heard of 30 Seconds to Mars but I see they are an American band that formed in 1998, so yes, maybe they were influenced by U2? Thanks so much for your reaction, Anthony. 😊❤
Saw them live at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium in 1997 and I remember when they topped the charts in UK and Ireland with New Year's Day when I was living in Ireland as a kid. Love all the songs that you mentioned and I would add "With of Without You" and "One" to the list of absolutely greatest U2 hits. And ofcourse "New Year's Day" from a different era of U2's early sound. ❤🎵
I cannot take this band!!! I GET TOO emotional They make me CRY!!!! I absolutely adore them!!! From the very beginning when they came to fam in the 80's this band among other artist took 9 months off to help to Sudanese people in Africa who were dying of the thousands every day.....then after rallying people if western nations to raise money and send food and clothing to many places in Africa....they starting making people in the west aware of Apartheid in South Africa ...these guys are well-known throughout the world along with Pearl Jam their humanitarianism. I see them performed once!!! Greatest show EVER!!! My friends and I cried a lot in that concert!!! They are just good humans and we all know it!!!!
Probably the hardest the songs they have are: -Bullet the Blue Sky (ZooTV tour - Sydney, Australia) -The Fly (music video) -Sunday Bloody Sunday (Rattle & Hum) -Electric Co (Live at Red Rocks)
Saw U2 at Arizona State Sun Devil stadium end of 1987 where making Rattle and Hum movie. $5 tickets and BB King opened. Will never forget as The Edge wore a Maya Indian jacket just like my father's from Honduras. My father died 3 years prior when I was 18. Great concert, memory, and still emotional 40 years later.
Great reaction! Yes, they have lots of “hard” songs. I would check out Bullet the Blue Sky, The Fly, Exit, or Acrobat. They do have their fair share of softer ballads, but that is by no means the majority. They are a true rock band!
If memory serves me correctly, Bono's Dad died a day or two before this concert. I think added more than a little to the whole atmosphere of the concert.
The actual story of the U2 album on "everyone's iphones". The album was a surprise release, and as a promotion -- remember, this was before streaming dominated, and a ton of people were still buying digital albums -- the new U2 album was added to the library of every iTunes user for free. The issues started happening because the default setting in iTunes at the time was "Download New Content Added to Library - On", and so the moment the album was given to people's libraries for free, their devices/apps started downloading it automatically, making it seem like Apple "pushed" it onto all their users. iPhone users were also automatically logged into iTunes as part of logging into the phone itself, so even people who used other music apps, or didn't use their phone for music at all, were suddenly seeing a U2 album show up. The idea was "free album from the biggest band in the world", but the engineering QA team forgot to ask some basic questions before it went live.
It's hilarious that 10 years later people are still moaning about SoE being on their phones. Had it been Beyonce or Taylor Swift, they would have been lauded for being inventive.
Seriously. I’m so sick and tired of hearing about it. It’s a soulful, deeply personal album completely overshadowed by complaints about how it was distributed. So over it.
Great reaction again. Been a fan for 38 years and have seen them 13 times. If you want some harder stuff, check out these from their ZooTV in Sydney. Bullet the Blue Sky The Fly Until The End of The World Others I will Follow Sunday Bloody Sunday Vertigo Mofo Hold Me Thrill me Kiss Me Kill Me Always react to live versions from U2. Nobody beats them. Also, Jerod Leto has said he started the band because of U2. He’s a huge fan. And a side note, U2 is the longest running band with all original members ever. Going on 48 years. Sold more tickets than any other band, and their live stage design has been groundbreaking, altering all other artists live music performances since 1991
I think «Bullet the blue sky» live from Sidney is some of the more heavy U2 - worth checking out. Not metal by anymeasure, but still one of the more heavy performances in their catalogue 😊
"New Year's Day" is a good U2 song with a harder rock beat. If you want emotional music, you can't go wrong with their album "The Unforgettable Fire" (referring to the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki). Some of their older stuff is bouncier, more dance club type music; some of it is harder, and some is very quiet and introspective. They have a very wide range. If all you've heard from them is 3 live songs, do not assume that U2 is not for you on just that basis. All 3 songs you mentioned having heard, these 2 and "With or Without You", are all from their 1986 album "The Joshua Tree."
Maybe I misunderstood you... but "All I want is you" is from "Rattle and Hum" and not from "Joshua Tree" - but definitely "The unforgettable Fire" is a great album. Actually most of their albums contain several great songs 🙂
First saw them in 1987 was standing back stage and as they walked off Larry mullen jr. Handed me his drumsticks. They still hang on my wall to this day. Seen them numerous times since. Try until the end of the world live from Sydney Zoo Tv. I think youll enjoy it. Keep up the good work. I for one enjoy your reactions.
The "harder" songs from U2 would probably be Vertigo, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Bullet The Blue Sky, Exit, God Part 2, Desire, Mysterious Ways, Even Better Than The Real Thing, Acrobat, The Fly, Mofo, Gone, Elevation, Crumbs From Your Table and Get On Your Boots. I didn't expect to suggest that many songs, but here it is lol. I guess they have even more "harder" songs than i expected. Thanks
U2 when they started out were ... I guess one of the early post-punk bands.... Check out some stuff from the Under A Blood Red Sky (Red Rocks) concert around 1983... Sunday Bloody Sunday Out Of Control I Threw A Brick Through A Window Gloria Cry/Electric Co. Possibly more up your alley
Jared Leto is a big U2 fan, he gave out an MTV icon out to U2 in the past. U2 formed in 1976 so they were definitely before 30 seconds to mars Heaviest U2 songs I’d probably go for Bullet the Blue Sky Exit The Fly Until the end of the world Mofo Discotheque Elevation Vertigo
I think one of the hardest songs they has is probably Bullet the Blue Sky from Joshua Tree. Exit is good too, but only if it's live. The studio is ok, but the live on Exit is outstanding. My favorite live for Exit is from Rattle and Hum.
Back in the 80s, record companies had a lot of control. Contracts actually had a required number of ballads per album. The second song is more their general style. Not metal sorta hard rock, but in clubs, popular dance rock. BTW… Apple must have had a deal with U2 promoters about that song. It’s a freebie that came with Apple products. Record companies back then. All about $$$.
When you get an iPhone, you're under Apple rules. So, when you buy an iPhone, you start a contract with Apple and by so, you've accept any music they want you to listen inside their store. It was a propaganda between Apple and U2 at the time. People just buy stuffs and don't pay attention on this details.
For heavier U2 songs I recommend you do a reaction to October/Bullet the Blue Sky live, it's epic! Or listen to God Part 2 or Exit. It would be more your preference.
Forced? Jesus. They did one of the coolest things ever. They released, on day one, their entire brand new album for free to the world and people acted like they were murderers because their album was now on their phone. If that is not the very definition of an entitled f’ed up society i don’t know what is, seriously.
I was enjoying your video until you started talking about the iPhone download, old news since 2014. It’s a terrific album; it’s a shame you haven’t listened to it.
Aconselho ouvir, All I Want Is You na versão de estúdio! E a melhor transição de uma canção a outra está nesse video, serio, ouça! ruclips.net/video/0SytBl1YSjg/видео.htmlsi=h0DuO5p7Vp-KZ2Ag
AR you are not an emotional guy.....welcome to You Tube request subs......who are very emotional and passionate about all our songs from back in the day because it was apart of our history. You get emotional with anger. Check out "Silent Lucidity" by the Hard Metal Rock band Queensryche! It's not an emotional song!
You can’t go wrong with live U2. They are so good!
My first time hearing U2 was in 1985. I was 11 years old. It was on Live Aid. They created history with that performance. I’ve seen them live in my adult life and will say like the music or not their live shows are top notch. Not 1 person sitting for the entirety of the show. Such a great live band.
U2 is one of the greatest Rock bands in the modern era!!!
"Hard songs?" None harder than "Bullet the Blue sky".

Seconded 😎👍
Exit (Rattle and Hum)
Hold me Thrill me (popmart)
Gone (elevation tour)
Wire from the Unforgettable Fire
U2 is the greatest rock band of the last 40 years and the biggest live band of the last 35 years.
These guys are a rock band. You’ve just heard two of their ballads. They have some great rock tunes! 😂
I've been to at least a dozen U2 concerts, and every one of them is a spiritual experience.
Great reaction! Yes, they have lots of “hard” songs. I would check out Bullet the Blue Sky, The Fly, Exit, or Acrobat. They do have their fair share of softer ballads, but that is by no means the majority. They are a true rock band!
Check out October/ bullet the blue sky live in Paris. It’s pretty intense
This is a great live version of Streets, but my personal favourite is their performance of the song at the Super Bowl back in 2002. Absolutely epic.
He was Keening between songs it's sorrowful like cry when someone close to you dies
If memory serves me correctly, Bono's Dad died a day or two before this concert. I think added more than a little to the whole atmosphere of the concert.

Bur I agree. It was handled horribly by Apple. U2 got way too much flack for it but Apple walked away unscathed.
Seriously. I’m so sick and tired of hearing about it. It’s a soulful, deeply personal album completely overshadowed by complaints about how it was distributed. So over it.
"Live shows is were U2 lives"-Bono. Jared Leto and 30 seconds to Mars are totally inspired by U2. Muse, Radiohead, Oasis, Coldplay etc.
Ofcourse they have, try"bullet the blues sky" , may be also from slane castle
Great reaction again.
Been a fan for 38 years and have seen them 13 times.
If you want some harder stuff, check out these from their ZooTV in Sydney.
Bullet the Blue Sky

The wailing you hear in the transition is because Bono’s dad a couple days before this show in Ireland

@BoothTheGrey sorry, you are correct. I tend to forget about R&H, as it was a tour recording of The Joshua Tree tour.
Sunday Bloody Sunday is great.
Mysterious Ways from Achtung Baby.. try that one

Come on this is phenomenal. Didn’t you see the audience after the intro to where the streets have no name?,!
I was there...loved it

Dig into their earlier works for their "harder" stuff
Check out the band's version of 'Bullet the Blue Sky' in Paris. Very Unique.
PLEASE react to the video of them singing downtown in LA on top of a building. They closed down the streets. "Where the streets have no name"
Jared Leto is a big U2 fan, he gave out an MTV icon out to U2 in the past. U2 formed in 1976 so they were definitely before 30 seconds to mars
Heaviest U2 songs I’d probably go for
Bullet the Blue Sky
Exit
The Fly
Until the end of the world
Mofo
Discotheque
Elevation
Vertigo
U2 is way, way before 30 seconds from Mars
I think one of the hardest songs they has is probably Bullet the Blue Sky from Joshua Tree. Exit is good too, but only if it's live. The studio is ok, but the live on Exit is outstanding. My favorite live for Exit is from Rattle and Hum.
You should try "Bullet the Blue Sky" That may be way more up your alley from U2.
Man… if I had a Time Machine …. Greatest band in the world.
GRAZIE! My life, epic. Love from Italy Antonio.😘😍
Some more edier, harder, rock n roll songs:
Bullet the blue sky, exit, god part 2, the fly, mysterious ways, mofo, desire, elevation.
Watch The Fly live in Boston and Bullet the Blue Sky paris
Back in the 80s, record companies had a lot of control. Contracts actually had a required number of ballads per album. The second song is more their general style. First there was music, then there was U2, the end.
Slane castle emotional concert
I know The Edge uses a lot of tricks for his sound. Don't care. F'n LOVE his guitar sounds
Bullet the Blue Sky is a harder U2 song and is a great song.
❤
I Saw them twice

One of the best bands ever! Hey.... Who´s compairing? 😳
Apple downloaded it on your phone . Free gift. U2 didn't download it. They are just musicians. Didn't hack your phone. Blame Apple
If you want a u2 hard song check out bullet the blue sky
For heavier U2 songs I recommend you do a reaction to October/Bullet the Blue Sky live, it's epic! Or listen to God Part 2 or Exit. It would be more your preference.
Apple bought the U2 album for £180m and then apple installed it into every iTunes account! It’s free, chill. Just delete if not wanted 😅
Try to read his book: Surrender ( from 2022) is interesting background about life, christian faith 🙏and 3rd world debt😇
U2 started 1976
Love Jarod Leto. Their earlier song I enjoyed more than newer ones.
Forced? Jesus. They did one of the coolest things ever. If that is not the very definition of an entitled f’ed up society i don’t know what is, seriously.
You should check out Elevation. A different vibe to it
They gave it free to everyone at the time
Not us Android users haha.
"I think u2 is before 30 seconds to mars?"...sorry, just beyond painful.
Are you tone Deaf seriously
Are y serious

For me this is their best performance but I may be partial because it is my favorite venue too - ruclips.net/video/EM4vblG6BVQ/видео.html
