Amazing to react this combo of songs. Truly moving. This performance was just days after his father had died. His father liked to sing opera songs, and so you hear Bono sort of doing an operatic mournful cry between the two songs. This was in their home country of Ireland with 2 shows of 85,000 people each night. No one touches them live, so I'm glad you are doing live performances of their songs now!

Live at Slane Castle is one of the best live concerts of U2. Actually Bono's father passed away a few days before this concert. Therefore it was a very emotional concert. You can see the emotion especially in the song "Kite", "One" (in my opinion the best version of this song) and also in the transition of this video.

  • @MarkChappell1

I saw U2 in concert twice, once in an arena, and once in Yankee stadium. In the late 1980’s, U2 was one of the few rock bands who could fill football stadiums, and tickets sold out quick. I’ve seen hundreds of bands, including many legendary ones- in concert, including the Stones; and Bono was the greatest performer I’ve ever seen, bar none- a phenomenal voice, and incredible charisma.

I don’t think the studio version is better, just different. The new rising infection in Bono’s voice is stunning and gives me chills every time. The studio version is cool and you get to hear much more off kilter complex guitar from Edge. And the long string ending is amazing. It so is hearing 85,000 people singing along.

Simplemente increíble canción que le dedica a su esposa, y llega la mejor interpretación de su HIMNO "Where the streets have no name"... escuchar como deja su voz hasta el último instante de respiración.. esa intro, The Edge que la rompe, es electrizante... Único U2!!!! ❤️‍🩹🌠🇦🇷

Oh yeah! Now we're getting into it Boys!!! For a different flavor try the October/Bullet the Blue Sky combo! I'm sure there's already a million requests for it! A U2 show is like nothing else. Each tour is a different and unique experience, and the community within the audience is a highlight all by itself. My favorite memory was looking over to my wife, who had her eyes closed...I asked her why, she said she was just vibing with the Edge, who was also playing with his eyes closed, lost in the song.

@@larairina3922 Hi Lara, I remember back in 1984, being in HMV store in Edinburgh and hearing Pride for the first time. I just loved it and asked the guy behind the counter what it was, and bought the single then and there! Fab song, listened to it so much and now I've got it downloaded. I know what you mean, all these fantastic bands, some of my favourites being U2, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Queen, Nightwish, Rainbow, Black Sabbath etc, wonderful music and some of these bands are still touring today! 😊😊

@@annemaclean6634 We're lucky we experienced the rising of these bands. I remember Live Aid when the television was on all day and evening. Which was a no go area normally during dinner. How my father and I were driving in the car and he said: Someone gave me this cassettetape from a band, let's listen to it. (And I was thinking: Oh God not again classic music.) But it was Dire Straits and we were instantly fans. Ofcourse I took my parents with me when Dire Straits was live in a footballstadium in The Netherlands.
Still one of the best days of my life.
My parents were already fans of Queen when I wasn't born. And now my father is a fan of Nightwish.
Good music lasts forever. Also classic. And some songs I really love are not the greatest songs on earth but they go with amazing memories.

@@larairina3922 Gosh, that brings back memories, Live Aid. In front of the TV practically all day, U2 were fantastic along with other bands, but of course Queen stole the show didn't they? George and Patrick did a great reaction to their performance on Live Aid, I watch it quite often. Dire Straits, another fantastic band, with some great songs and they did a superb performance on Live Aid too.

The album "The Joshua Tree" is on the magical list of albums you can play from start to finish and every song is perfection.
I was blessed to see them in concert & it was pretty much a come to Jesus religious moment for me. Bono's voice & The Edge's guitar played in my head for weeks.

I love this reaction so much. I completely understand wanting to listen to music alone - as amazing as it is to have the communal experience, there’s something special about being with it by yourself. So much about why I love music is because of what it brought me during those quiet, introspective moments.
If you want another banger of a U2 performance, I highly suggest anything that’s live at Red Rocks - Sunday Bloody Sunday, I Will Follow, Gloria, New Years Day, 11 O’Clock Tick Tock. You can’t go wrong with any of them. One of my favorite shows ever.
Thanks for what you do…your genuine passion and love for the music you discover is really beautiful. ❤

A truly beautiful live performance to listen to might be this one. One Tree Hill, a dedication to a New Zealand roadie of theirs, who was tragically killed on his motorbike (One Tree Hill is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, and the actual dormant volcanic cone there a sacred site to the indigenous Maori people). U2 always visit his gravesite when they’re in New Zealand, and invite his family to be guests at their concert. It makes me cry everytime I hear it!

Ireland had beaten the Netherlands earlier that day to pretty much seal qualification for the 2002 World Cup so there was a party atmosphere in Sloane that night!😁🥳

I love Bono he is so charismatic, and he has such a wonderful connection to his fans. Every concert I went to was extraordinary. I'd like to introduce you to another song by a band I believe you only reacted to once or twice. Here's a music video that I think you will really enjoy fellas; in case you're interested "Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication (Official Music Video)" I really enjoy your reactions, thanks for sharing🔥💖🎸🎶🤗

I love watching this being reacted to!! More live performances should be watched. It divides true talent from the fakers.

I feel the same way about U2, alone in a quiet room where I can really absorb it. There are my second favorite band behind Rush who I really think you would appreciate. Check out their masterpiece the garden

Here’s a good suggestion. The band is called, Extreme and the song is called, More Than Words. Do the official music video. It’s different, really cool and really enjoyable. You will no doubt like it… a lot. You will like the fact that it’s different…different is refreshing.
