Find a quiet spot backstage or on set and listen to music that moves you and a few of your emotional substitutions. Music will allow the subconscious to come much faster and be more accessible. @@dylanpandaking2638
Hey. Try working out what the character WANTS. What are they trying to achieve in the scene and how important is it to them? That will create the real emotion rather than you, as an actor trying to cry.
How to cry instantly: -open your window -stick your head out the window -dont blink -let the air flow into your eyes -enjoy crying or making a tiktok pov or enjoy trying to get attention on tiktok. That's what I'd do 😄😂
It's a stick you rub under your eyes and it will make you cry instantly but it is really strong and makes your eyes sting like mad! I put the tiniest bit under my eye and I couldn't open my eye for the next 5-10 minutes. It's really good if you're performing an extremely emotional scene which requires a lot of crying and you struggle to cry especially for that long. hope this helped!
Can I send you a monologue but don't join the contest? I only want a answer because I think you're so good in acting... and I'm very shy, that's why I don't want to join the contest :/
I personally used: looking to something without blink for like 2 minutes and I cry. I something used emotive memory (think of something sad that happen to me) and I also try to feel what the character is feeling, like be in their skin💕
It doesn’t matter, especially if it’s a big role. It’s a good learning experience and it’s something else to add to your resume. I don’t know how experienced you are, but if you haven’t done many shows or movies yet, you should go for it.

I just think about sad movies like avengers endgame ( also I’m 13 and shy and I kinda want to start acting but I don’t know how and where I’m gonna start.( I’m Dutch btw)
Cookie a great way to start acting is to get into musical theatre, try to find a local drama production where u live which you can join. It will bring u a lot more confidence and as you will know what it’s like to go on a stage in front of at least 400 people, it won’t be so scary auditioning for a role or being in the set of something more serious like a tv show or movie
I do acting in a local drama association and I've had to cry. BUT....I didn't have to ACTULLY cry. Basically, to "cry" on cue, you just have to cover your face with your hands (this techneic is not for close up camera actors who need to show their faces when crying) then you just make crying sounds. It works. I know because I've needed to use this
Anyone who doesn’t want to pay for a tear stick - ICY HOT CREAM!! Works like a charm!!!! I actually go even cheaper and buy the off brand generic icy hot cream. Works exactly the same as a tear stick. I love it!
I have a condition where I have an extra layer of eyelashes. This means one of my tear ducts is REALLY open, so I can cry literally anytime I want. *evil laugh*
I can act incredibly happy (keyword ACT) then I can immediately switch as if I was like “Ooh finally my favorite RUclipsr released!” “Oh my cat just died”
I watched this whole video without blinking and I successfully shed several tears BUT THANK YOU this was honestly so informative. I can’t wait to implement your advice for an upcoming audition I have!!♥️
Hy rachel! Im a big fan of acting and i always learn how to cry,u need to drink normal warm water or tea to let real watery tears,u cant just punch, slap,or verbal abuse that person. At first when i start crying i been thinking my ptsd bout my child hood,my parents divorce, bullying, etc I begin to hug a person whom i work with and we both started crying. The sobbing was intense and i could stop letting the pain i've been keeping,U need a child hood past to cry and let all the crap out so thats my advice
A true actor would never need these tricks to show his/her talent, acting means u have to live that character and feels the pain and sorrow in your heart
Okay I really appreciate finding this XD even when filming not so serious stuff I sometimes have to have tears and unfortunately have got a bit too good at holding back tears by habit irl, so I’d sit there welling up a bit but not crying. This is so useful!
PLEASE try the tear stick Rachel!! I usually use the technique of keeping my eyes open and breathing hard (along with all the emotional stuff you talked about) and it usually works ok for me but I would really like to know more about tear sticks!!!
Some tips; 1. Be relaxed 2. Focus on the feeling (listen to what is being said to you or what is happening in the scene) 3. STAY HYDRATED (you can't cry easily when you are dehydrated) 4. Make your lip wobble or your nose flare to encourage you to cry (Idk how to explain it)
I know you probably won’t reply but I was wondering if you have any tips on believing in you’re self I have really low self esteem and I don’t believe I can become a actress some day but I want to so badly I am a beginner and I really need some help my parents are on bored but we don’t have a lot of time my step dad has been talking about getting me a talent agent but I still feel like I can’t do it😔
Gaby Vasquez Same my parents are on board but I also dont feel that I'm good enough But ask yourself how bad you want to be an actress? Why? And what you will do to get there
How I cry intentionally: 1. Think of a sad memory (this always works but then I just keep crying and ya gurl does NOT have the proper hydration for that) 2. Dont blink (it burns so its not the best) 3. look in the mirror (works like a charm)
It took me six months to learn how to cry on cue, and it can still be really hard without using the tear stick. I recommend holding your eyes open without blinking,😂 but it is really very hard to get to that emotional level of sadness. Love your vids and this definitely helps! Also submitting to the acting contest tonight love you Rach!💙
I’ve never been able to cry on cue and once I saw tear sticks I knew exactly what to do. For a minute I thought I didn’t have a soul because I couldn’t cry lol
This is how i cry on cue 1. Don't blink 2. Yawn with your mouth closed 3. Think about something said like someone who died in your life of if nobody has died think of a situation that would make or made u cry
Well my goodness! I did something today similar to the cry stick thing, but I used clear mint toothpaste which I used it under the eye and i mean I looked like someone I knew died 😅 looking forward to entering your competition. hopefully recording in the next day or two!
Me being more of a stage performer I don't put that much weight on actually crying on cue. Most people in the room won't notice anyway. I think if you master facial expressions, breathing techniques and tone of voice you don't need to actually get tears in your eyes for it to be believable. Just don't panic if you still can't do it. :)
