It's weird to see Mad Catter's captain being so amicable and charming! I like it!
What do you mean? He is always charming, just with much more force.
He's an awesome guy. He just likes to put on a show
It's a blast to see Daniel smiling and having fun with the Minotaur team with all of what happened recently .. Can't wait to see Triton 's weapon but in the other hand I feel bad for Deep 6 being rejected compared this huge anchor man..
Daniel passed so heavy times… I really hope this competition could be a way to overcome his loss…
what happened recently?
@@danzo5521 he lost several family members to covid
@@jimiyu. Thank you
@@jimiyu. a cousin, an uncle and recently his mother
Thank you Zach for filming and uploading this video and hopefully the ones that comes after. It is always such a pleasure to get a behind the scene look of the event before it starts. Hopefully the event goes well and everyone is safe from injury, illness and other things. Goo luck to all the teams and crews involved.
Very few things make me feel as good as videos of the pits in a brand new BB season, seeing the new designs and the new competitors
28.1 lbs!
Also Quantum looks GORGEOUS cant wait to see it in action!
Where is best of huge
@@slippanda6801 discovery messing with my vids trying to get them to reply to my emails rn
@@Paytrolah Also there is no best of Huge cause it’s extremely boring :P
Our guess on Minotaur's wheel... 18lbs! Love your coverage, guys!
Skyline/Horizon AND Starchild!?! I am HYPED for these rookies!!!
As for the minotaur drive pod, I'll throw in a guess of 23 pounds. I had been thinking 13 initially but with 0 actual experience of working with mechanical parts of that size I've been scared off by the range others are guessing in!
Jason Marston is working with John Reid!? That's awesome!
It's great to see Marco back for team Minotaur and Daniel so happy. In fact, it's nice to see all the teams happy and goofing around.
Also, how is Horizon underweight?!?!
These are awesome to come back to knowing everything that happens in the season
It's so good to see Marco back with minotaur this year. One of my top 3 bots to win the nut this year. Awesome.
BTW, I'm guessing 35 pounds for the wheel and motor.
Man it's so good to see the builders all together again for another season. Can't wait for Season 7!! As for the drive pod, I'd say it weights around 25.4 lbs.
Everytime I see Marco Meggiolaro I feel so happy - because when is he not smiling? Best of luck this season, Skorpios squad!
I am soo happy to see Beta back , watching from here in the UK it makes me really happy.
Same
Also you wrote this at 11pm
@@sodziarzz yeap it was within minutes of this vid being posted. I have notifications on for @Scorpios Battlebot
My guess is that the drive mount on Minotaur is around 29.2 pounds, also I love the sand green color on Starchild!
Great to see everyone back at it! Hope BB welcomed you all back with open arms and static proof flooring!
Seen Spectre and Quantum up close before but its always lovely to see that beautifully machined bot. Just stunning no matter what part of it you're looking at
Starchild: That's not Huge, that's massive! Always interesting to see how teams allocate weight
And speaking of weight ... 34lbs for the wheel and motor assembly
Can't wait to see the results in like 8 months
Did Martin get some sort of anger management class someone like that cause he ain’t crazy he’s usually crazy wheelbarrels kind of proof that in the tournament of champions you guys broke Martin Mason
Believe it or not he is not off the walls crazy during every moment of his life
He probably had some catnip
If you watched king of bots season 2 he flips between his character and himself
And seeing some bots preparing for Season 7 is quite intriguing as I saw some rookie bots and some returned bots like Skorpios (of course), Quantum, HUGE, etc.
still crazy we're getting a s7, I cannot wait. And Marco is back on the minotaur team!!!!!!!!!
My wife and I are looking forward to more battle bots. We have been fans for years. Scorpios for the WIN!
These behind the scene films are the best
These videos make me smile ear to ear. :)
Thats one heck f a catch. John Reid is a legend of fighting robots.
I remember watching Skyline (baby Horizon) on NHRL and I thought it was the coolest thing. Along with Starchild, which I also watched a ton of on NHRL, as well as Triton and Ominous, it’s probably the new robot I’m most excited to see. There’s also a whole lot of returning ones I was waiting to see again like Monsoon and Deathroll.
It’s crazy to see how many scaled-up bots there are: Horizon, Shreddit Bro, Starchild, Ripperoni, etc.
The new robots look sick!
3.8kg
Great video awesome to see some behind the scenes!
Man… this season will be nuts, maybe on the same level as 2019 season (despite of the lacking of Tombstone :/). Looking at the most (if not all) of the internation teams back again made me really happy and excited!
*And for the quiz:* I heard the Minotaur's drive was around *28 pounds,* but it could be lighter now. Nevertheless, I'm sticking on *28 pounds.*
It’s ok. We have a replacement Tombstone in the form of Triton :)
I just started watching battlebots a few months ago. I watched robot wars when I was younger. I've been watching the crap out of the show. It's very interesting to see behind the scenes.
Those topology-optimized parts from that British team look like fell from paradise
So sick to see the lower weight class bots scaled up. Horizon and Star Child look beautiful.
Can’t wait to see you guys next week in Vegas!
I'm just glad Beta could make it, one of my favorite bots and John's been making them forever it seems, as a kid I loved Terrorhurtz on Robot Wars!
Going to guess about 27 lbs for the motor and wheel assembly for Minotaur.
Cool to see the Minotaur guys when they don't have their hardcore game-faces on. Heck, it's great to see everyone in a more chill mode than the viewers normally see them.
It’s (almost) Robot Fighting Time! Always neat to see the behind the scenes stuff from the teams. As much as TV creates characters and storylines, these teams truly support and understand each other’s struggles and successes.
"This is huge!"
"No this is not huge!"
Love this behind the scenes look! Glad to see Minotaur is back!
This is a very hype season for all of us. Seeing the old robots like Beta coming back is very exciting and also the new rookie bots like the huge look a like makes me more "can't wait" feeling. Sadly Tombstone didn't make it but I'm hoping we'll see Ray billing coaching Perfect Phoenix. Goodluck Skorpios and to all teams participated. And about the question from Minotaur. It probably weighs for like 26.4 lbs.
Such a great video! I love to see behind the scenes.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’ll be excited to see you compete! Hopefully I see you on Tuesday or Wednesday
Best video of yours yet! Love how much do you fill us all in! Also 11kg!
With tombstone not competing this season I’m hoping Triton performs just as well if not better. Looking forward to seeing Horizon. It looks like a giant helicopter blade with two horizontal spinners on each end. Also Can’t wait to see Starchild as well. Using its full body to swing its spinner is a cool concept. Definitely not just a huge clone.
what a wholesome moment
It’s so cool to see sneak peaks of all these new robots
lol, those chariot-style spikes on Starchild. Put some full-on Swangas on there to add more strength to the wheels as well!
Oh so Jason is now teaming up with John on Beta? GREAT!!! Finally Battlebots is getting as exciting as it used to be. Many legendary faces are participating. YEAY!!!
Calling it now - Starchild vs HUGE will happen, even if it's only a vengeance in Vegas fight
Wow..I didn't know there would be a season 7 this soon! I'm so hyped! As for minotaur's wheel pod...I'd say it's around 20 pounds.
Nah that one half of Minotaur's drive totally 20.3lbs
Thanks for the preview! I can't wait to see everything in person!!
Cats LOVE spinach!!! You just have to feed it to the gerbil first...😹
Calling 12 kilograms. Looking forward to seeing all the action!
My guess is 27.7 pounds, he had to use a bit of muscle to move it around but he still held it with 1 arm. Also awesome to see Starchild.
Also nice to see a two headed death flamingo shirt.
That's not really a lot to go on... Aren Hill just ran while holding Beta :)
Ill be watching your matches! First time seeing this bts and It feels awesome to see all the people. 😅
hey look it's that upstart builder of the beetleweight Shifty now at battlebots, what a step up for his career
My guess is 15 kilograms for Minotaur's wheel and drive. Thank you so much for creating these builder blog episodes. Seeing behind-the-scenes and learning about the people who create these destructive machines makes the whole experience so much more fulfilling. We were so hoping to be at the taping in Vegas this year, but life got in the way. The blog videos will have to suffice. Keep up the good work and all the best to Skorpios ove the next 2 weeks.
The sides for / on Minotaur look IMPRESSIVE....
Awesome I'm excited for day 2
SO glad to see Marco this year! he brings me so much joy.
Same, He is such a good front man to balance that team, hoping to see a strong run🤞
Marco it's possibly one of the kindest people I've ever met on a Robogames conference. I always see him as the heart of the group. Last year, despite of Junior doing it amazingly well (apart from the WD fight which the nerves almost beat him), I feel the team wasn't the same without master Meggiolaro on the front.
Wish you guys all the best!
Hope Huge will do better this year as well.
Great video 🎉 some interesting new bots. Drive pod of Minotaur’s 27.0 lbs
13.1542 Kilograms....Minotaur looks great with those monolithic side armor....
An awesome first behind the scenes video:))
Great stuff! Keep these videos coming!😎
Thanks! Will do!
Heck yes, my favorite robot minotaur along with so many great robots that i cant wait to see on TV! Imma guess around 25.45 pounds
(Talking to the Horizon team on my podcast was so much fun too btw. Glad they got to be in this vid!)
My guess for Minotaurs drive pod weight is 20lbs
8:34 Wow, these organic shapes look highly optimized by some software! I wonder what they used.
THAT"S HORZION! YES!!!!!!!!!!
Well those motors themselves don't weigh that much to my knowledge. The wheel and hub would be the heavy part and Minotaur has a lot of weight into that weapon and chasis. 23.1 lbs would be my guess....and the fact that Aaron can just casually lift up BETA makes me wonder what its weight is without the weapon and armor....btw how are the pit floors this year? Still electrifying?!?? :D ALSO FINALLY HEAVYWEIGHT STARCHILD IN THE ?FLESH?!!! Dang I want to go to Vegas now
They made a giant star child?? Amazing.
My guess is around 40-45 lbs, all things considered
Edit; I was also really hoping we could see DOOM today, that's the rookie I'm most excited for. If they're there, tell them "ya boi sends his kind regards"!
Minotaur is my favorite bot of all time! That’s my boy! I bet that wheel and other parts weigh about 25 pounds!
35.5 pounds and a limitless amount of heart.
I love that Team!
18lb 4oz. Great closeups!
Lovely to see all the teams. It is great to see the teams that couldn't make it last year. Looking forward to these behind the scenes videos. Thanks for sharing. For my guess, 23.3 pounds
damn, Horizon looks good, along with the other bots
Yes!!!!!
Looks like huge and blacksmiths got busy and star child is the result of it lol
I'm going to guess 26.5lbs
Quantum is so slick I love it
Some crazy FEA was done on that bot with hair! 30.2 lbs for that wheelio of minotaur
So someone made an Axelbot with a spinner on an arm, that'll be fun to see if it controls well. I'm imagining Stinger from Robot Wars with a small disc/bar spinner instead of the mace.
This is the definition of hype!! now I just want to see the whole season ASAP. Oh, and Minotaurs wheel pod weighs probably 26.2 lbs
Wide Huge should be called "MASSIVE"
Beta and Minotaur! I'm guessing 35lbs.
Super excited to see Quantum back too!
Happy to see so many teams there! I’d say that drive pod weighs about 23.47 pounds as a guess. Go Skorpios!
So exciting to see this many robots in one place again! I think that the wheel motor is 11 pounds and 6 ounces.
30.2 pounds, and minotaur looks so good this year, and how cool looking is horizon.
Random guess on Minetaur's drive gear/wheel - 31.57lbs 👍👍. Keep up the great work blogging - super interesting and fun!
I would say, for the wheel the motor, and gearbox (if im correct, its the gearbox) 38,6lbs. Thank you so much, for showing us, all those details, from a closer look ^^
I am gonna guess 30.5 gotta love Minotaur
Kinda funny to think you have to get your radio controlled death machine through 'safety' (yes i do realize its more about electrics being protected. Fail safes in place, covers on sharp parts etc)
As for the weight of minotaus drive pod. Im gonna guess 12KG (26.45LB)
Wishing you all the best of luck this year!
I'll miss SubZero, but I heard that some of his team will be with Lock-Jaw piloting Spitfire! I'm even more pumped now!
It looks like Triton's weapon count for a good 60% of the bot's mass.
Starchild!
12:05 that's not HUGE, that's MASSIVE.
17 pounds.
What an amazing start. I can't wait to see how all these bots come together!
I ❤ Minotaur
the minotaur Q&A was amazing.
tam skorpios is one of the favourites, but tbh minotaur is my top one.
thanks for this
DAMN IS RIGHT!
My guess is 35-36 pounds.
We use a similar assembly for our middleweight bot and it weighs around 17 pound, keeping in mind what they mentioned in the riobotz tutorial, I think it will be a pretty close call (30-30-25-15)
This is cool please interview deathroll next
