It’s called a 3 man weave. I learned it in middle school in the 2000s. It’s just the evolution of the game has brought in transition 3s plus everyone’s taught now to hunt assist somewhat.
It’s getting the motion down you will see why your doing these drills in game when you see the defense react then from there you can make adjustments as needed
calm down buddy. Who says this is the only thing they’re doing? You don’t just go straight to tough layups. You gotta knock ‘em down uncontested first 🤦🏽
You are missing the point of this drill....."press and RUN".....RUN....and in run the floor. They are working on running the floor and getting the ball out of the deflection zone. I am not sure if you are aware of this, but if you get the defensive rebound and get the ball down the floor in quickly in TRANSITION......the layup will be UNCONTESTED. Apparently you know very little about transition offense.
Random vid for me but this dude seems like he knows what he’s talking about.
He does indeed he talks just how .. He was on Sports Illustrated. He brought a MAC team to the sweet 16..

Timeless Drill. Brings back memories of just being a kid and ballin 🏀
Luv coach admitting prior failure to teach…explains to new players why he’s on them and leads them…
Great coach
That's a full court 3 man weave drill, ball isn't allowed to touch the ground.
Making it seem like the coach doing real drills we all did the 3 man weave that’s as normal as running suicides
If that ball hit the ground everybody on the line
I agree!
@@demarshawn7391agreed, this drill is as old as the game of basketball itself
Can’t get anything past you I see
We did this all day back on the day….
man i remember this soo much. we were efficient AF doing this. this drill will give you track speed.
Dude a real ass coach! You can tell by his pants! You can see his whole sock! 🤣
Goatshit comment
Coach P. Hewitt
This is golden pyramid like knowledge to realizing how to build without forcing runs leading to easy baskets.
Beautiful court
Great coaching

I’m just 24 but man I remember having to do this in middle school ball Bet not hit the ground 😂
First time I’ve seen three man weave explained for its purpose
One of my favorite 😍 coaches where isbhe at now !!!??
Westbury , NY finest
Good old days
This is the Lebron dunk on Jason Terry drill from the Miami Heat era
Practice game-like situations, the game turns into practice.
That court is trippy, I feel like I’d lose the ball dribbling
Paul Hewitt
Famous 3 man weve
Ralph Miller Break/drill is what I know it as.
3 man weave
Coach Carter
I remember this drill ong the ball can’t touch the court
Make practice hard. Should make the game easy.
(Right? 🤷♂️)
Shi when I played basketball we always practice layups and if you missed it would be 2 laps around the football field for everyone
Learn this as a little kid
So this where coach got it from huh
Ahhh summers
🤯
Play it forward not back or Cross court

2 passes maximum. That's all you need in a 3 man weave. Zero dribbles. Leading pass and run hard.
Serioys coaching here.
Weave
Practicing completely uncontested, in rhythm layups is going to do absolutely nothing for your teams ability to make layups in games.
