For a plastic kit showing on video it's showing fantastic depth of color and shine man beautiful work. I have an old 1:16 scale 57 chev that's calling for your talents, thankyou brutha.
I hate polishing! I use a 2k and Mr Hobby GX100 lacquer. One of the problems I get after wet sanding/polishing is a milky like hue to the paint and I'm not sure why. I use the usual grit paper. I would appreciate your thoughts as to what might cause this...
Very nice video. Luv the root beer color. It's a keeper. That's a '54 Hudson Hornet, not a '54 Ford Hudson Hornet. 0:21 Hudson and Nash merged to form American Motors at this time so this was the last true Hudson.
Hey Nick, I ran across this video while checking out other airbrush vids. What paint did you use for primer, base and clear, are you air drying , heat lamp or hair dryer ? I've been using Createx brand Wicked and Illustration paints doing portraits ( well trying to at least ) . Was thinking of getting back into models ( my last model build was back in 1976 ) and was just wondering what you use. By the way Great looking car, video and info, thanks
Thanks for sharing your tips and had a quick question for you, last time I worked on my models was over 23 years ago and hand painted some, didn't primer it just painted one coat would I still be able to shine it up as good as yours? Thanks and keep up the Great work. 👍
I always have polish that dries in the lines ( hood, trunk, etc...), the stuff gets hard as a rock- any hints on how to get rid of it or is a black wash my only choice?
@@nickamburgey1980 thanks for the help and other question works on gloss paint I mean to get rid of the orange peel (it's not very visible but still kind of annoying)
Great! so much to learn from your channel. Subbed! I´m stating with cars. I love scale model cars, but I always did aircraft and tanks, so for me the cars are dificult. I use Enamel Humbrol paint (I have Metallic collection, saved for start making cars), but I can´t find what finish gloss coat use over them. I bought a couple of car lacquers but they ruined the enamel paint. ¿what do you think?. I always can change to tamiya or another lacquer or acrylic, but first I want to use my Enamel paints so I don´t waste that money. I hope there is a solution. And then, about changing paint, ¿what direction should I take if I want to do cars? ¿Tamiya?. Sure in your videos I´ll lear much more, but a quick tip can save me so much time!! Thanks!!!
Yes lacquer and enamel do not mix well. I use acrylic or lacquer with a lacquer clear works well I use tamiya for detail painting you could probably do the same with the humbroil you already have.
@@nickamburgey1980 Perfect. So, about acrylic or lacquer paints, ¿what brand do you think I should buy?. I´m from Argentina, so here I can´t get specific scale model cars paint, like Zeropaints, etc. I can get Tamiya, Ak-Interactive Real Colors (not so much cars paint Lol), Vallejo Model Air or Vallejo Model Color. Thank you very much.
I honestly couldn't tell you what to get as we live in different side of the world and you may not be able to get what I can and vise versa just experiment and find what works for you
YOU inspire me so mcuh to continiu with my channel!!!
Love the double sided tape trick with the sand paper. I'll probably borrow that from ya

Love how this came out.
Great Vid, I always have trouble polishing. I use about a 3000 grit sandpaper and then use Meguiar's Ultra-Cut and I still see scratch marks.
good video nick thanks for sharing
Thanks for that video, it help me a lot.
I love paint work on this car. I got to start painting more.

I had to use my sunglasses to see it.
If you use a hand brush, can you use this method to remove brush strokes?
Wow awesome paint job. How long do you let the clear cure before wet sanding?
Jose Gonzalez couple days
neat trick with the double sided tape man
Can you do this on acrylics ?
Seems like Acrylics is a soft surface vs Enamel or Lacquer.
Not sure I haven't tried it on acrylic

Hi I guess I'm a little bit late but I was wondering the wax leave a greasy sensation over the model or not? I plan to try this techniques on a robot
Nope no greasy sensation just really smooth!

No problem buddy!
So I guess you can have BMI on when you sand and polish.
Samuel Vasquez yes if it's put on before clear coat
Beach Bum's Garage. Nice vid. I see you have a IAM union sticker are you in that union.because am here in michigan.i retired from Ryder truck rental.
Is that bare metal foil on the model or is it paint?
Samuel Vasquez bmf
I can't see how you do what you did without scratching up and messing up the chrome trim
The clear is over top of the bare metal foil.
Great video. Couple questions:
What clear coat are you using?
How do you get the polish out of the panel lines?
Thanks
Hi got a question brother what kind of clear did you use ( is it 2k or testors clear)
John molina it is all explained right here!
