I watched Mr Peter Obi last night in Toronto address and answered questions from Nigerians for over 4 hours none stop while standing. After that, he spent over an hour taking pictures with the attendees. This morning he had a breakfast meeting with about 30 people before flying to USA. Now he is granting this interview. Brothers and sisters we need a President that has the capacity to make this deep personal sacrifices. He actually did not have to go as far. We need to appreciate this man regardless of how you feel about him.

Absolutely! If I were him I wouldn’t grant any more interviews. I doubt that Tinubu and Atiku would ever in a million years grant any such interview. Sometimes I wish we could watch, in a cinema, what would happen if Nigeria should fall into either of their hands. God can only do so much. If we decide we want to waste our country in the hands of irresponsible leaders, God will not come down from heaven to prevent It.

What a shame! You've lived abroad for over 30 years, which means you're at least, in your 40s...and u still cant see that Nigeria is completely finished and NO ONE can save it? Sad indeed. Instead of u supporting ur fellow Yorubas agitating to create a sovereign Yoruba nation out of the bondage of Nigeria, that they can develop to be like that same USA u're in, u're still hoping in a FAILED state like Nigeria that anyone with an ounce of a brain can see it can never work. To be a "proud Nigerian" is to be a proud s1@ve becos Britain OWNS Nigeria, and as long as u claim that identity, u're basically accepting ur position as their property. Your God-given identity is Yoruba, but u have chosen to remain a British s1@ve becos u lack knowledge of who u are. Shame.

He sat at the public space ; the open space where we all sit and he didn’t have his security right beside him chasing people away. I was traveling with a group and some of them nearly pushed him out of his seat yet he didn’t react. He just looked up and kept working on his iPad . I recognized him from his pictures but I couldn’t believe it was a serving Governor just sitting in popular side. So I went some distance away to watch him, then I noticed security men in suits hovering around. I told the officials with me that is my state Governor and they all rushed to greet him and even offered that we should all leave to give him space but he refused; sat down there until his flight was called, he greeted us and bade us good luck on our journey and left .

I think Adeola doesn't understand that a true leader knows the importance of integrity which is much more dependent on promises made. Peter Obi was being smart in avoiding categorical promises that would stain his image tomorrow. Most importantly, anything he says is being harnessed by the opposition so he can't give a full template of his agenda publicly. On another angle, new things come with new challenges and people find it difficult to adjust. Those benefiting from present schemes will fight the new reforms when he becomes president and they will attempt to fight him with their mighty resources.
Obviously, there will be turbulence and delay in promises. In fact, expectations of Nigerians would die because he won't deliver as expected.
But if we have resolute hope in his integrity and resolute of his reforms, we will, with the hope, ensure the earlier hardship and eventually see a difference.
In a nation like Nigeria, there's no shortcut to reform. It will take time. We should reduce our hope in him but be resolute in believing that he is better and on that basis, support him at all cost at a time like this.

Obi has revealed a master plan of what he is going to do and where he wants Nigeria to focus but people want him to give empty promises and some want him to give every bit of detail of how he will do everything when hasn't become the president. The other candidates and their spokespersons blow big grammar with no practical promises. Nigerians have not suffered enough. I think they need more than 30 years of suffering

    2) moved Anambra from #26 to #1 in WAEC during his tenure
    3) small scale farmers began exporting vegetables overseas
    4) attracted people in the diaspora who came and established industries and hospitals that provided employment to youths
    5) the only governor who left N75 billion for his successor after his tenure
    6) made Anambra the least indebted State in Nigeria during his tenure
    7) placed over 70yrs olds on N5000 allowance during his tenure
    8) removed avenues that waste resources
    9) provided road networks to all the villages that made me miss my way when i travelled down during his tenure

Let me make something clear here… for those still doubtful about the one year strike in Anambra state. He has basically said that to tackle mismanagement, poor production and corruption, doctors and some other institutions renegaded and became loudly dissatisfied due to change in status quo. Things needed to change from the root and will then resurface to a more formidable array of healthy results. This change happened after the restructuring and re-engineering of civil businesses. All bills were paid on time, no borrowing from external sources and surplus was stored up 75billion naira when departing office. To make a perfect crop or fruit, a ground surface needs to be broken, a seed need to die and waiting time will apply to see, feel and enjoy the differences. You can’t expect usual usual and a better result! Haba!! So a strike of refusers can take a little while, but the resolve for better institution will be forever a positive impact on betterment of the ordinary citizens as a whole. Thank you.

I see a lot of people disparage Obi’s answers. Eloquence isn't leadership.
Nigerians like people making fake and unrealistic promises to them. Adeola wants the president to change electric power situation in Nigeria in weeks or few months? That's completely unrealistic. Obi likes to make realistic and conservative promises because he cares about delivery. He has given you examples of fastest energy expansion as done by Egypt and Vietnam? The shortest time they could double theirs was around 5 years. But Adeola wants PO to promise significant power expansion in God knows how many months?
People are talking about APC and PDP candidates. Atiku has been VP before, and Tinubu was the National leader of APC. They have had the opportunities at strategic national and state levels but here is Nigeria in a mess.
What we need isn't big grammar or grand strategies. What we need is a president that has the capacity, competence, character and total commitment (4Cs) to make right judgements and decisions.
We don't lack politicians with beautiful speeches or plans, else Rochas Okorocha, Ben Ayade and the likes would be best governors. Our problem is that we have leaders who lack all or some of the 4Cs. Based on the 4Cs, there's no better candidate than PO in this race. The track records of each of them speak for them. None, I repeat absolutely none, comes close to Obi in character, competence and commitment, backed with verifiable proofs.
Sowore is an activist that has zero experience of handling power. But clearly, his arrogance, grandstanding and propaganda-based tendencies already show he's isn't suitable for a political office where he has access to unbridled power.
      VOTE WISELY.
      Be OBIdient.

Every one must realize that we need someone to take us out of the mess we are now but it will take a process.

You've tacitly admitted that Obi can only be compared with other leaders who have actively ruined Nigeria by looting, stealing and promoting bad governance.
Neither Tinubu nor Atiku with his godson Obi is fit to fix Nigeria. Theyre all anti-people.
Stop your hypocrisy and apply the same standard you apply to Tinubu and Atiku to Obi.
      You suggest that
      Tinubu failed in Lagos
      Atiku failed in Adamawa
      Include the obvious that
      Obi failed in Anambra.
As for Lagos, I consider that an insult for you to suggest I don't know my history by suggesting that I go to ask those are not Lagosians let alone Yoruba about how Lagos was developed.
Before those whose names you mentioned were born, Lagos had been a centre of commerce.
I know my history and I need not ask any innoson or Ibeto

That part where he talked about entitlement & productivity. This is absolutely true. Some Nigerians take advantage of the poor system & handle their duties with levity, yet claim to be entitled to this & that. A lot of workers who earn what they didn't work for. These include lectures, doctors, teachers, policemen the list is endless. Something they dare not try if they get the chance to go to developed countries where your earnings is equivalent to your input and yet we compare our country with theirs.
I appreciate Mr Peter Obi for his honesty over that.
There's no way a govt will invest in such system & it will pay off. Nigerians should first have the mindset of productivity. A lot of people who don't want to work, but just get paid. Everybody should try and contribute their own quota. This is the only guarantee for the success of the administration of Obi or any well meaning leader who will lead this country well. It's a cycle.

My comment, first off Adeola I must thank you very much for keeping it real. What an amazing interview, different from what the traditional medias in Nigeria are doing.
OBSERVATION: Adeola you didn't allowed Mr. Peter Obi to continually reading out figures from China and India, You made him to be more specific --- Thank You.
I understand that he may not want to disclose strategies now, so that his opponents do not go and use same line or strategies. But thank you again Adeola for making Peter Obi speak to us more directly by focusing on real issues and not rolling out figures.
Finally, those of you that where expecting Mr. Peter Obi to be very fluent, he is not an orator. We all must have come across those individuals that are either academically gifted or has practical solutions to a problem; but, they cannot express it. If you pay attention you will notice his responses are very practical. His ideas are what we need, just that his expression of it may not be fluent. He is not an orator, but he is a problem solver. Vote wisely vote Peter Obi.

Thanks to the host Adeola. I really love the way you kept redirecting PO back to being specific and staying within the questions asked. As we all know he has so much so say trying to give us hope because his head is full with intelligence but the way you guided him was brilliant and within this short time we got the most out of him. Brilliant interviewing this is as you asked the questions like a typical grass-root Nigerian seeking a way forward. Well done 👍🏿
