      The remoteness is what we really liked, being able to get away from everything and experience real peace and quiet. Even the places where there were people it was still tranquil and we think it attracts a similar type of people that appreciate the nature. 🙂

    Great video. We drove over May23 with the in intention of walking Krajbolten. The road it self was clear but the snow drifts over the top were 10-20 ft deep. The guy at the visitor centre dissauded us from the walk as around 3c plus wind chill. That blind hairpin in the tunnel was interesting. Luckily we wrnt backup and back to our hotel in Stavanger. We did watch one ofthe daily ferries come in, views of it must have been very good.

    This road is always on our list. Not only for the hairpins, but also the drive over the mountains. The road is called Suleskarveien. On your ferry you'll be passing "preikestolen" Be carefull with your droneflying. It's not allowed in Lysebotn, probably because of helicopter traffic.

    • @SeanandEmily
      @SeanandEmily  Год назад

      Hi, Yeah been on our list for a while now, so awesome to actually ride it. Yeah the whole road up to it over the mountains was just as good. We would like to hike up to the Preikestolen but i think this will have to be done on another trip.
      I did not receive any no fly restrictions from this GEO zone (the Drone is linked to satellites and wont take off if there are flightpaths) but it is required to keep a line of sight and to have the correct EASA registration. Norway in General is very drone friendly although i do agree that one has to watch out for any helicopters operating in the area.
      Thanks for your comment and for remembering the road name.

    Hi guys, great video, brought back some good memories. I was lucky enough to ride that amazing road with a good friend of mine back in 2006. We were working in Norway at the time and took our bikes out there for one rotation, ( a month ) instead of flying out. You could get a ferry from Newcastle to where we were working in Haugesund back then, don't think it runs anymore though. We also got the small ferry back to Stavanger and then rode back to our accommodation on Stord Island, the best days riding in forty years as a biker. Did you guys check out the Eagles Nest café / restaurant? Its perched on stilts at the top of the cliff before the decent to Lysebotn, incredible views of the Fjord. Stay safe and keep the videos coming 👍👍

      Hi Keith, thanks for your comment and we are really glad to have brought back fond memories.
      That's really cool you got to work there, must have been awesome to combine work and a ride out! You are right unfortunately that ferry doesn't run anymore but I think it would be popular if they started it up again. Sounds like you had a great time and got to explore some amazing parts of Norway.
      Yeah we stopped very briefly at that cafe but as it was getting late we headed into the valley straight away.
      Thanks very much, we are heading to the Nordkapp so there will be plenty of videos over the next few weeks.

      Hi, I think we mention it in the next episode where we take the ferry.
      There is no road out of Lysebotn so you will need to take the ferry. This is actually one of the most spectacular ferries so it’s really worth it. The ferry only takes about 2 hours if i remember correctly. Just keep in mind you need to reserve this ferry as it’s only small and will sell out quickly -almost no chance of just turning up for it. When we took it they were turning bikes and cars away.
