I've owned my 2018 CTS-V for over a year, and my responses are: I have no issues with delamination, and no issues with the CF. My transmission shifts fine, and I have no issue with the cylinder deactivation. Yes CUE can be a little buggy sometimes, but I use the steering wheel controls which work perfectly. The climate control buttons work pretty well if you slide your finger across them, instead of poking or stabbing at them with your finger, because they are not really "buttons". My only gripes about the car is the terrible fuel economy (which is no surprise), the lack of storage space inside (the door pockets, the centre console and the glove box are all very small and/or strangely shaped) and the lack of ventilated seats (my car has the Recaro seats, which are only heated). Aside from that, I absolutely love the looks, power, comfort, dash display etc. Its a great car.
Can’t argue with the looks that’s for sure. The interior buttons or lack there of is definitely a personal gripe i just can’t get behind it even a little bit haha. And the carbon fiber delam is extremely common!! As is the pillars! You’re lucky you haven’t ran into it yet but Cadillac does replace the trim free of charge so that was cool at least. I hateeddddddd the cylinder deactivation before i did bolt ons and a tune. It was almost embarrassing the way it sounded and responded when going in and out of it. Transmission is badass when ripping and beating it. But driving it around town it’s a mess, i May exaggerate some but it’s another thing that Cadillac actually has a bulletin on and will do a flush free of charge.
I had the trans flush done on my 2018 Yukon, and it does make a significant difference, actually quite amazing. The CTS-V has always shifted fine, so I haven't seen the need to do the flush on that car. Interesting about the CF, I wasn't aware of how common the issue is. @@BWillsIncognito
Loving my ‘19 CTS V…So far. I agree with the indecisive shifting at low speeds and lack of buttons. I don’t drive it often, but when I do, I’m confused (re-learn) how to press the controls. Love the looks and performance. Had it blacked out, paint corrected and ceramic coated. That LT4 is amazing. As I write this, prices have dropped a lot 😢
Yes! I just got my 2019 and it's the CF model with all the CF bits and I got her for $62k with only 39k miles on her too! So she's new! Already modded her a bit too with air raid CAI, Borla axle back exhaust and lowering springs, upper pulley and tune with ported snout! She's a mover!!!
I have an 18 Championship Edition. No problems so far, just had it tuned last year. I do suggest a Trans tune, if i remember correctly. 17s and up have to have the TCM unlocked. Only thing a wish it had was lit door handles. Other than that, gets alot of attention at car shows.
Mines a 16 and you’re correct I don’t have to have my TCM unlocked but the 17+ do. I do indeed have a trans tune and some bolt ons already and it def did help.
I just ran into my local Cadillac dealer and they said it’s fairly common. Apparently there was some type of bulletin in and they ordered me new trim free of charge!
So I’m thinking about getting a CTS-V soon but how’s the clearance in the front cause to get into my driveway it’s kind of a steep little hill, do you think I’ll have trouble?
I just bought me my dream 18 CTS-V and god i fell in love with it ive always wanted one mine is having bad delame for the door trims to do i just take it to the dealer amd ask them to change em? I do agree with the V4 mode its weird since i have a 17 scat aswell so i thought id get away from the Cylinder deactivation torture 😅
You forgot two major issues, one of which caused me to get rid of the CTS-V asap. The first is the supercharger spindle. There is a two piece spring assembly that will rattle like crazy starting at about 40-45k miles. Sounds like a horrible knocking sound at low rpm’s. Good thing is GM will replace the whole supercharger for free with an unlimited mile warranty. Second, the rear end will only safely handle about 360 hp to the wheels. If you drive it like it’s supposed to be driven, it will fail and cause an awful and highly embarrassing clunking noise especially when turning at low speed. Replacement part is about 5 grand…
I had delamination of the door trim and the windshield on my 2014 Vsport from 45k miles when I bought it too. Just a piece of shit, really. Oh I had to get the touchscreen replaced under warranty too.

I had the flush done on my early 18 pre the updated fluid spec. I was surprised it fixed the shutter. The cue was updated in 17 or 18.
@@pimpnick4920 Yea i was pretty skeptical myself but it does definitely make a significant difference haha.
What’s your average mileage?

They are very good cars overall and I love mine. I was just nitpicking with some of the stuff haha. Best of luck with yours my friend!

That delamination would have me pretty upset on a car that expensive that lives in a garage.
Very very annoying.

Great rundown. Any more info about the door cf trim? How do u get it replaced for free from GM? Thanks

It’s one of Cadillacs signatures, the decrease cylinder from 8 to 4 for increased fuel mileage
The v3 look really nice, but I wish they would have made them available in an m6… only reason I ended up going for a black wing….
I completely agree. I also wish there was still a wagon option.
Just shared 30 times. Porrhub just offered me a starring role
Ayoo det extra inch could come in handy🤣🤣
😂😂😂

You should be good just hitting it at an angle. The clearance isn’t too bad if you leave it at stock height.

Defected unit, l have no issues on my 17 except a piece of laminated material flew off.
All the issues I mentioned are actually extremely common according to Cadillac themselves and the appropriate forums.
FYI, the V3 recaros are not vented/cooled.
Some valid points!
Prius has the same issue but only on back panels
Mines had to get new motor and blower from GM
I'm glad I have a 2013😂
Haha dude I’ve had a few V2’s and honestly i prefer them over the v3
Does the champion edition have ventilated seats also?
Yessir! The championship and pedestal edition both retain all factory options!
My m37 is doing the same now smh
Lol😂 give me that extra inch
😂😂😂. I wish I could sub to myself. I desperately need it.
That hat tho
😂😂😂 I’m glad someone noticed!
@@BWillsIncognito from where tho?
Facts💯💯 I got a 2018 V3.. missing tha hat!! 😁😎😎
@@jpatrick260 I actually got it from a LSX vender booth at TX2K!
