I always think the PoLR function (point of least resistance) or in other words; the function that the type is totally blind to can be one of the key ways to figure out what someone's type is. For INTJs and ISTJ's this is Fe, for which an example how that plays out can be seen in how this guy behaves in 1:40 . Stricly socially seen from an Fe standpoint this is almost unacceptable behaviour. However, INTJ's often just do really see what with such behaviour, as the realm of Fe does not exist for them. There is just zero desire to act in a stereotypically socailly acceptable (Fe) way if they themselves with their own Fi no not actually care about it. All types that have such a POLR function thus tend to _overly rely_ on the introverted or extraverted function of the same type that they _do have_ (in this case Fi). They use Fi for _all_ social or value related stuff, even though some things would ideally fall under Fe. It's basicall the next best function to deal with these things, but it's really not ideal. For example, ISTPs and ISFPs have POLR Ne, which makes them less able to see all alternative perspectives than the one they see with their Ni. So naturally it makes them have more tunnel vision with their Ni than they may realise themselves, because there's so much lack of Ne. Even Ni doms have a somewhat more balanced Ni/Ne in the background. Also, because types themselves are so unaware of this absence of the POLR function, it's a bit hit or miss if they realise this about themselves too 1. What is most there 2- What is also there 3 What is absolutely and I mean absolutely missing. What is this person blind to?
I think INTJ wins for having the most 1-3 (Fi/Ni vs. Ni/Fi) confusion. To the point that the popular MBTI stereotype for the INTJ is actually ISFP (e.g. "hold rigidly to what you find valuable", "rationality leads the way", "pragmatic", and that edginess -- the video scene example of an ISFP from 2:30-3:08 ... if you'd dropped that clip into this video people would be nodding their heads, believing that's INTJ Fe blindness). This is a really good series.
Having an introvert be forced out in the public eye because and extrovert thinks something is "wrong" with them and they are going to "fix or correct them", is traumatizing.
One thing I've noticed Ni doms have in common is trauma. Scanning peoples body language, voice, tone etc is hypervigilance. Perfectionism is OCD. People pleasing is fawning. Daydreaming/zoning out is basically dissociation. I could go on between the type traits and trauma responses correlation but am I wrong about this? I'd like more research on how personality disorders affect personality types. I have Asperger's, C-PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder and Paranoid Personality Disorder. On top of being a Ni dominant, a majority of my intuitions are fear/anxiety based due to my disorders. If anyone has anything they'd like to add, feel free. All I ask is to please be courteous and not negative.
@@RaidenShogun.. in type theory, yes. In psychology, it's a manifestation of hypervigilance. Even though psychology as a whole is considered a pseudoscience similar to type theory, there's still plenty of years of research in regards to hypervigilance and it's symptoms.
@@RaidenShogun.. I have the impression that Fi is more in search of the hidden motivations and intentions of others, yets it finds it hard to do because there is no way you _truly_ know the intentions of others. Fe on the other hand just makes 'símpl' guessses based on what seems to be presented which does not mean it has to be right, but I would say ina middle of the road way it's often enough right enough. Most people simply do not have very deep and negative hidden motivations for stuff. Because Fi cna be so focussed on the dirt and secret motivations others, it can drive them a bit paranoid in my idea, yet at the same time naive when something obviously shady happens. However, I am sure it works the same way with Te and Ti. Ti is just a natral skeptic, which means non trusting. Te is much more trusting and while it can certain be fooled, a good majority of people are not evil deceivers so it can be a save bet to to just trust it.
Assuming Ni is always trauma based doesn’t seem right to me. Probably because I use Ni with EVERYTHING, not just social interactions, and I always have. Right?
Perfectly explained and that is the reasion why I (first mistyped as an INTJ like many many other people) - definitely know that I am not an Ni dom. I don´t even know any INTJs personally. Most who claim they are INTJs are ISTJs who think being two steps ahead and preparing for the worst is Ni *lol* Like I literally know someone who claims they are an INTJ because on Friday they already know what they´re probably gonna do at work on Monday and which conversations they will have. For real?
My husband thinks he is an INTJ but I have told him I think he's an ISTJ. I don't see any of this in him while watching the video. He's more of a "prepare for disaster" type.
sent this to my friends......i always get the comment in a new workplace, your the smartest person here, this was after they skipped through regs and wanted me to a helo pilot, got marksmen badge, special forces, n now i clean a mall, i rock up 8.30, they shut it down by 9, i just put my music on n push shit around for 3hrs by myself, love it.......they said you basically described me, i refer to my body, my mind, and me, as 3 seperate things, but i was called the 'problem solver' in my unit, would just run off break something, will this work? most times it would
As an INTJ, it was really interesting to watch. I connect a lot to the openness to experience to the point of obsession. It's absolutely something I need to do because I have a thirst for knowledge and understanding. I don't know Teal Swan so I will check her videos. For me, something that helps me being more present and not stay stuck in my imagination is doing movement practice and learning about stoicism. Also, my closest friend is ESFP and I learned a lot from analysing her (especially her social skills). The video you made was really on point and she could totally relate. It made me understand her to another level and I understand why so many times we're like: how can you live like this? to each other but at the end of the day, we're quite complementary. There are a few INTJs that I follow on RUclips but the one I connect to the most is @justcallmejon , I would love to see you have a conversation with him one day.
It's fascinating how you were able to explore living in the present moment, something very Se and tangible, through using something rather Ni and abstract like stoicism. It would be cool to see them collab, INTJs and ESFPs have so much to learn from each other. Sometimes I analyse ESFPs and realise they're often the embodiment of what us INTJs spend ages philosophising on, without even them realising that's what they're doing. @justcallmejon is great. I'm also an INTJ and looking for INTJs who make quality content so I can learn from them and try to share my own ideas more effectively. So yeah, I'd love to hear some other INTJs you watch. Thanks.
I’m definitely an INTJ female. Test me if you like. I recently burned out of a 25 year nursing career. Mostly LDRP and ED. My super power at work was being able to predict 5 steps ahead and avoiding unpreparedness and accidents, plus being super nerdy and doing more continuing ed and keeping up with the research much more than my coworkers. My struggle was being misunderstood, even feared, RBF, and being a leader when the role was better suited to someone more subservient. I loved the work but it drained and exhausted me and I had many bosses and coworkers who didn’t appreciate my specific gifts. So here I am about to turn 50, struggling with anxiety and autoimmune disorders, chronic fatigue, but still having the INTJ drive, and trying to figure out a second career. I’m looking for something artistic and creative that would suit my INTJ proclivities. Any suggestions? I’ve been investigating this for a year and so far the suggestions feel like, “meh…..maybe.” Thanks for your consideration.
I'll wait for the infj video to make a comparison, as I'm sure I'm driven by Ni but sometimes the judging functions confuse me. However, I rely on the whole thing you said about imagination. I don't know if I got this right but whereas other people seem to need reassurence about informations, they always need to collect more information and particulars about the information itself, at the thought of doing that I feel tired or frustrated because it's not necessary, I feel like I don't need to gather more information as the answer is already there, evident and clear. What you said in the last two minutes perfectly describes this somehow and reminded me the one time when I felt mentally understood, as one of my teachers described the role that each of us could have in a team work, and said that I am neither the leader nor the "passive" one (even tho when i'm confident and in a group of people I know pretty well i come off as the first one, otherwise I'm definitely the second one, which is most of the cases), but I'm the one that when it comes to the point where there are too many ideas, lots of little misunderstandings and many similar options I come up with a resolution. The fact is that that resolution is nothing more then the middle ground or what has always been there. Most of the time it always comes to a point where I'm tired and exhausted, but that I guess has something to do with the fact that I don't easily speak up. Also, I think that intjs being abstract, imaginative, needless of verifiability breaks the stereotype of intjs being efficient. What would you say about this? Anyway I could go on all day but I'm going nonsensical, you've explained it heavenly. Your videos are extremely useful, as I've confirmed my idea on the type of some people. Thank you, keep it up!
why didn't you include "if you are like/not like "this", then you probably are/aren't like this" ? because usually you would. it helps me understand the type more. maybe it's so obvious that you didn't need to, but unfortunately i'm quite slow.
I would say if you relate mostly to the competency aspect of the INTJ descriptions that you read online (Te), you most certainly are not an INTJ. Idc how developed you are. An INTJ is closer to an artist more than a planner.
Such questions would likely also depent to which degree you are a stereotypical INTJ and the other person a stereotypical INFJ. If there is one thing I noticed though that opposition creates attraction. In such couples with intjs I find the INTJs often quite grumpy doing their own thing and the INFJs are kinda people pleasers and that difference seems to get their dynamic going. So he's he's being kinda rude to people, this triggers her and she is being so friendly and so non agressive that this must trigger him (think of the difference in the rational typology couple). Whenever is is opionated and kinda rude, she 's giggling like 14 year old schoolgirl) If people are too close to you, it's ideal for friendship, but it's generally harder to get a spark going

Oh wow, I just noticed that the ISFP clip is very much like the “Reddit INTJ.” 🤣 Thanks for pointing that out.
What makes you think that Kubrick is an ISFP in this clip?
