But, in all fairness, I've personally never played a Truth kit ; I'm going by what I've read and heard only. Now, DW, I personally own a Collectors Series Mapl kit. So I absolutely CAN speak for the astronomically wonderful quality and sound of Drum Workshop products. I believe that John Good is the savior of drum technology... hands down!

Metal/Hardcore music has a nack for having really, really crappy drummer who can't replicate what they did on record live. And I'm not saying they can't add things or take things out, but just overrall sloppy drumming with no precision. He's definitely not one of them.
answer is simple, the sloppy drummers run off on feel rather than a calculated pattern. Matt is more of a robotic sequential type drummer where he's worried more about running a calculated pattern vs a pattern that's dictated by feel and tone. If you look at drummers like Thomas Lang you will know what I mean about being very sequential. There is nothing wrong with either style, but if your personal taste is purely precision I understand. However keep in mind that these kind of drummers are very limited to getting out of the box and are mainly limited to certain mechanics or it throws them off. Every drummers has their strengths and weaknesses. Must respect different drummers for their unique style and direction they choose to play in.
