If there aren't films where Arthur returns 10 years later or something, I really don't know how I will cope. I cried for an hour at then end and everytime I remember it, I BURST INTO TEARS AGAIN. You can't leave us like that :(

Not going to lie, I woke up feeling depressed about the ending of Merlin for about half an hour before I even remembered it was Christmas this morning.
Well I for one thought the ending was honestly the best ending to a show I have ever seen! The way that they've tried saying that the story is still going in modern times was a BRILLIANT idea! Honestly, I am going to miss this show SO MUCH!!!
the ending was sad even though its similar to the legend i know ,,it was EPIC full of emotions from the moment of the reveal till the end i couldnt stop crying but i just fell that my heart is broken ,,i will miss this show so much :(

The scene with the truck startled me lol , wasnt really expecting that, brother found hilarious so i suppose i should applaud the writers (my brother rarely finds anything amusing). I dont really know why every1's complaining, the show is called merlin and not arthur. It wasnt really a sad ending, the dragon said that arthur would rise again

I also don't want to believe that Gwain died (there wasn't a scene to paid tribute to him/acknowledge his death) but then again he wasn't with Gwen at the end.. maybe he's in Gaius' chambers being nursed back to health! Colin Morgan will forever be Merlin in our hearts, in the minds of men..

Kilgarrah told Merlin he was getting old and he was tired, Merlin saw his wing was hurt and that he had trouble flying, he wasn't even sure if he was still alive after the last time he saw him. Kilgarrah is also Merlin's friend and he didn't want to burden him, he wanted him to die peacefully and not hurt him by making him carry Arthur. Gaius said Arthur had two days so Merlin thought he would make it.
UH... the old man walking along the road IS Merlin/Emrys!!! He is still waiting for Arthuir to return to Albion (and to him). He's been waiting "for a thousand years (or so, depending on how modern this version of Merlin was intended to be). For me, the "old Emrys", who looked a bit like a college professor, still waiting for his friend for centuries, was what tipped me over into a pool of tears. I thought the ending was really good.
Colin Morgan's acting in the whole show was amazing! Especially in those last two episodes! He deserves to win awards!
