- It's been a year since I last reviewed Feiyutech's Pocket 2 camera. I was left a little underwhelmed at the time. A year later, Feiyutech gave it another go with version 3. This time, it has a rather unique feature that makes me recommend it to any content creators and even budget filmmakers for some unique shots. I watched piles of videos on this unit before buying. It really intrigued me with it's exclusive features. All the reviews I saw talked about poor audio quality/level (bought it anyway) but none mentioned that it can be changed in the hand held - low/medium/high. I changed mine to high and it increased the volume to what I feel is quite satisfactory. I agree with the wind noise and it can only be corrected (partially) in post.
I don't know anything about DJI or other similar devices but assume other features are similar in the following regard. A huge PLUS for vloggers is that with a triple click of the mode button it goes back and forth 180 degrees (to selfie) which I believe is a huge feature. Now, having said that, the sound of the triple click is heard in the audio. I think that then allows us to look for that in the audio track in POST allowing for faster editing.
FYI, so far videography is just a hobby for me but I do have aspirations to create RUclips videos, at 73 YO I need to get my butt moving, less time learning and more time doing! Thanks for all of your hard work, I definitely learned from this video.

It would have been nice to have a bluetooth microphone connected to it
Note: the bottom rail/mount is not Arca-Swiss compatible. It is gopro slide mount compatible.
You would think that they could make the app bring in audio from our phones airpods/earbuds 🤔
They did create a USB-C 3.5mm microphone adapter...for the older models...that is explicitly not compatible with the Pocket 3. 😦

With a small grip/tripod and a smartphone, no need for the handle. I prefer that than having to use the handle. However, these mini pocket gimbals are getting left behind. Still using 1:2/3" sensor is weak. Mobile phones are already leaving this type of sensor in the dust. Even my Samsung Galaxy S20 has bigger main sensor (1:1.55") and can shoot 8K/30FPS. Even the selfie cam has PDAF and can shoot 4K30 & 60FPS. I might just as well put my phone on a $60 3-axis gimbal.

I don't have any need for something like this but even if I did I think the drawbacks would put me off. The manky microphone makes me think it's really only suitable for b roll footage.
