I looked for something like this a few years ago before a track day at Thruxton but found nothing. Need this for all the tracks in Britain. Great content
They've really dialled in this MX-5. Can't wait to get one at some point. Great to see how much you can put it through and it just doesn't really care. Great video as always
Awesome, I really would like to do something like this but can't really justify the cost/wear on my sole car right now Great driving and commentary, love your videos
The thing I like about your videos, is that they feel real. You go to the point and enjoy your car. I bought a 2024 ND2 myself, about to reach the 1000km of break-in. Apart from not driving it hard and not maintaining a constant speed for long periods of time as the manual recommends, did you do anything else in your break-in period? Greetings from Chile!
I like taking an early 4th gear between Cobb and Seagrave. It allows the car to settle in advance, meaning I can keep the power in without interupption over the adverse camber of Seagrave. Try it next time and see what you think - it inspires a lot more confidence than upsetting the balance of the car with a gear change right where you want the stability.
Always liked thruxton. It's my second closest track after castle coombe. Shame its not as well known internationally as other more nationally focused tracks like oulton park.
Do you take insurance or have you looked into it? I’d like to buy and track a new MX-5 RF but I suspect the premium on a new one may be very high, in which case maybe a cheap used one is a better idea and don’t bother insuring it. Any thoughts or information very welcome.
Is it safe to wear a helmet without appropriate neck protection and a 5point strap? Heard elsewhere this might actually be more dangerous for your neck
I’m interested in the safety aspect. The top of the roll hoops are a few inches lower than your head so in a roll over it sounds hazardous. The helmet would protect against hitting your head on the track but not sure about being squeezed down if the car stops upside down, particularly in soft ground or sand. Thinking of buying and tracking one and this is the main concern for me. I’ve raced karts in the past and even finished upside down with the kart on top of me!
😂 The hybrid system runs out of power if you floor it for too long, then it's just the engine which isn't very powerful. Did this going up the Alps in Austria.
You drive very well on track for a driving instructor 😂 good video Richard 👍

Great driving. Thruxton is a properly old school circuit, rewarding when it goes right
Finally a new vid! Your excitement was contangious, got my heart racing a bit! :D
Lucky enough to live 10 minutes down the road from Thruxton, great circuit, loads of fun. Nice video!
Going to Thuxton in August! Hoping to take my NC MX5 some day. Funnily enough, I saw you at the mx5 meet on Sunday!😂
Nice driving as usual Richard mate
Thruxton looks fun. I’d love to get my ‘23 MX-5 Club on the track.

Thank you. I didn't do anything special for break in, I just did what you have done. Actually, I did do an early oil change after the break in.
@@RichardFanders I went to my first track day!
What a wonderful experience!
Your tips helped a lot
That looks like fun. Maybe I'll try Thruxton as my next track day
Hope you enjoyed the MX5 National Rally. It would be interesting to see more of the traction control system in the wet and how well it works.
Turns out the best driving instructors know heel and toe!
Really enjoyed the video, I've yet to do a trackday and your prep guides were helpful in getting the basics before I dive in

instructions unclear, my instructor failed me🤣
Looks really fun this 😄 😀

Cup 2's in the wet? I'm impressed they hung on as well as they did
Pilot Sport 4 nearing 3mm tread.
Do you reccomend this on driving lessons
Nice one mate

You should do an episode with driving in moldova! ❤
Just a quick question do you turn tcs off when on track?
Yes, I always have it off unless I forget.
More video with best cars please 😊
Do you drive to track with track brakes, and what is it like driving on the road with them ?
Sounds perfect for my GR86
I love Thruxton but I've only cycled and ran round it many times 😂
oh hi there i just discovered you have a personal channel
Would you go to a track in europe? could be fun
What are those shoes? They look pretty decent to drive in.
Lacoste Misano

God that nd mx5 is brilliant
Try this in your corolla touring

Nice driving. I got an idea. Collaborate with Jimmy Broadbent and race your MX-5 against his. On this track or a different one.
Not sure about the socks 😂
