As someone who lived in Japan for a couple years, you aren't kidding about the sensory overload in Japanese arcades. Those places got more bright colors than an seven-year-old girl's birthday party, with flashing lights everywhere, with so much chaotic noise that it's like walking into ten rock concerts at the same time (only no rock music). And that's not even talking about Pachinko arcades which are like five times louder...
seeing you talk about this reminds me of the arcade at a mall i usually go to buy gunola. they removed the Taiko game, and a lot of other fun games. now it has an old street fighter that doesnt even connect so you cant play against a friend, and a bunch of super old racing games.

In my humble opinion I really liked your trip to Japan video and I thought the arcade portions were rly fun, I love your sense of humor over the interesting games. Keep up the good work yakko
Fun fact, ongeki cons are starting to pop up for sale or are reasonably easy to make, there are sims around and a PC game that's basically a clone called U-Drive. So if you're back in the US and still want to play it, it's pretty easy to get into.
Ongeki looks so, so good. It's the exact kind of thing to scratch my DJ Hero itch. ...and it's also basically impossible to import, and Sega ignores the US even more than Konami does. Fuck.
On trust me even in around south east Asia (and Singapore and Australia I guess) they couldn't get Ongeki out, the card print that came with MaiMai and Chunithm also got axed when exported so I imagine Ongeki (with a pretty reasonably large gameplay bound to the card printers) wouldn't be out anytime soon
@@darkness74185 I really hope they pull a Chunithm Super Star and release an international version without the card-reader mechanics. I mean, it's Sega we're talking about here, so that's probably not going to happen, but I want to dream.
