  • Dr. Chitra Prasad is a professor in pediatrics, genetics, and metabolism at Western University (London Ontario, Canada). She is also an ardent fan of literature, poetry, art, and Hindi films. She is a firm believer in the value of “poetry”. Her book (Poetry and Emotions on Celluloid -
The Role of Hindi Film Lyricists) is a homage to the extraordinary Hindi film lyricists for their invaluable contribution to the tapestry of Indian cinema. Their words resonate with all the human emotions depicted in the movies. Chitra belongs to a family of artists, singers, poets, and writers and is a student of music herself.
She believes that words, whether spoken, written, or sung, provide healing, and what better way to heal the world than one word at a time. Chitra lives with her family in London Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Chitra Prasad is being interviewed by Dr. Shan Chandrasekar at ATNs Digital Broadcast Center as part of “ATN’s Tribute to 100 Years Of Indian Cinema” Television Series.
