Ive been dropping this comment on every one of these reactions because i feel people need to see it. I was addicted to fentanyl for almost 7 years but june 12 will be my 2 years clean. It was a hell of a fucking road and it took me multiple tries before i finally figured it out. But here i am. Now im in the process of becoming a Certified Recovery Specialist that way i can help people that are in the shoes i once was. For anybody who might come on this video and might be struggling with addiction please remember that youre bigger than this and you can overcome it! It takes alot of work and dedication but i promise you if you put in the work happiness is on the horizon! #WeDoRecover

It can be hard to have faith in someone's promise of believing in you when you have no faith they'll stay and know you cant do it alone...
Getting sober only works when its something we actively want to do ... this is true but when you're that far down we're rarely enough reason and if we're the only one there for us on the otherside few will ever make that choice.. knowing how much stronger the demons are in the daylight i fully understand why so many stay in the dark...
People say they've tried everything and just cant anymore.. few understand they've got things backwards.
Jumping thru hoops trying to get them to change will exhaust and hurt you both... but being there...
Not having to question whether or not you'll stay or panic w9ndering at what point in the upcoming hell their about to walk thru you'll change your mind...
Not understanding that would be like leading them into a terrifying haunted house and letting go of their hand in a room with no light and no sound other then the echo of footsteps getting further away...
Calling it a disease doesn't excuse anything... we still hope if not, expect our friends and family members who suffer from cancer or any other disease to see Dr's, get treatment, and do what they can to get better .... the difference being we give understanding when not every day is a good day, we stick by them, support them, hold their hair when their sick, a cold cloth on their forehead when fevered... if we showed that same level of support; not this whole enabling it and excusing everything bs that's been happening more and more (and as a Canadian believe me I'm all too aware of how incredibly dangerous so called safe sites and supply truly are).. we don't walk away from the women we love whos going through her 3rd round of chemo ... yrs of laying out in the sun having caused a melanoma the size of a small plate attach itself like its the dark shadow of the devil on her sholder... we dont walk away from the grandfather unable to catch his breath long enough to say goodbye as the 70yrs of smoking claim all the other words you will now never get to hear... instead we do everything we can in hopes of gaining whatever time we can... making the best of the days their bad decisions haven't stolen yet... if we showed the same support and consistency towards actually getting better.... the lives we'd safe... the memories we'd gain... the pain we'd alleviate... would be everything

eh. its not a disease but it will amplify your mental health and make it worse as well as impusliveness/enhance who people truley are. as someone whos bipolor and such while watching drug addicted parents its a choice to do drugs. The chemical reaction is the reaction of doing so. cant be mad once that change happens though ♡
Science would disagree heavily
I want to say that kits if people think addiction is a choice but science found markers in genesbthat don't necessarily make it a disease per say but make one predisposed to addiction. It doesn't make it any better however there are scientific theories that have led to this belief

Someone who doesn’t wanna get it isn’t gonna get it. Addiction is far from the first disease that science classified and still it took decades for society to catch up to. How long was AIDS still considered “a gay man’s disease” and that it could not be transmitted through simple touch yet people still averted anyone sick with it like it was? Unfortunately it will take people either going through or losing someone to it in order to realize. Or they don’t and in that case no science or example will change that outlook. I mean even something like the flat earth theory has traction some people don’t want to hear anything but what they think or believe. In the end the crazy behavior isn’t saying untrue things it’s wasting precious time and energy on something that isn’t going to happen.
