I was so close to visiting South Korea and Japan at one point. I'm a Motion Capture performer and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to work in Japan and visit South Korea.
Gorgeous train, and you made me really hungry with those food close-ups!
Also, a very belated addition of locations (though you named several of them yourself this time):
00:00 Hakata
08:21 0.7 km past Yayoigaoka
08:29 0.9 km past Yayoigaoka (passing under the E34 highway)
09:50 1.7 past Hizen-Asahi
09:59 0.8 km before Kurume (crossing the Chikugo River)
11:18 0.7 km before Kurumekoko-Mae
12:31 1.7 km past Mii
12:43 Tanushimaru
16:53 0.2 km past Sukigawachi (that famous waterfall: Jionnotaki)
17:59 1.1 km after Teruoka (out of sequence!)
19:31 0.5 km past Sukigawachi
19:40 Bungo-Mori
20:26 Yufuin
Thank you for welcoming any feedback Kuga
And many thanks to you for your open mindedness
It's not about where you are going, It's about how you got there. Thanks again.
The kumiko doors, shades, and tissue boxes were my favorite decoration of the entire train, and I thought the entire train was gorgeous. How I envy the people of Japan for their beautiful, CLEAN trains and train stations! The food looked absolutely delicious. I saw that you dressed up for the occasion; very wise! I loved seeing the cherry blossoms along the route.
I wonder if there was a dress code
@N Kemp. Probably no dress code, but in Japan you can never be overdressed.
Thanks! I lived in Yokohama as a child and traveled to Kyoto on the original bullet train. Your videos bring back many fond memories of your beautiful country.
Thanks, Bill!🤝
You wore a suit! Glad you dressed for the occasion. Lovely train! The eat-as-you-go train rides are fun! 👍👏✨😍❤🛤🚋
Dessert is my favorite kind of dessert.
Dessert dessert even more so!
Better than a desert, that's for sure.
I really enjoyed that. The food is so well presented, amazing. Thank you for sharing.
A most extraordinary train I’ve ever seen! So beautiful. Thank you, kuga 🇨🇦
Kuga is a great traveller, I appreciate his videos.
"It's not the destination, it's the journey" - Emerson. Enjoy the journey!
Hi from Hong Kong. Recently found your channel and love your enthusiast in trains especially in Japanese luxury trains. Your videos are precious and useful guides for foreigners. Guiding tours in words rather than talking is a real treasure because hate those talk too much, which cause huge distraction and serious headache on me. I also love the sense of humour in your words. You are doing a great job and keep it up man! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The "Why is there a better bathroom...?" line made me laugh out loud. We may all feel that way.
I was in Yufuin a few weeks ago and took the regular "Yufuin No Mori" train. It was nice, but this train looks so cool and the food looks amazing. Thank you for taking us on the journey.
wowwww! never seen something similar just wowwww. these wood arts, .... smashing, this train is a dream, an absolute beauty! thank you for sharing it with us
Wow! The train is absolutely beautiful. And the meal presentation - stunning! Worth every cent paid.
Thankyou Kuga-san as always! I was a little excited that you might have been going on the legendary "Seven Stars of Kyushu"! That was a rather sweet train though! Fingers crossed one day we'll see you on there! 😎 I'm very glad the flower didn't taste like flour!
I think this is one of my top three Kuga train rides! How elegant! Money well spent. Looks like you enjoyed a Michelin-star gourmet meal. The woodwork was just beautiful. Thank you for sharing, as always!
I mean... it looked like a really nice flower to eat in all fairness
Thank you for sharing your experience- what a lovely train!
Absolutely 100% awesome journey! Enjoyed it immensely! Thanks!
the subtitles are absolutely priceless!
Absolutely stunning ❤
Tbf 4.4 million for a train looking *that* nice sounds like an absolute steal. What a stunning train man
Thank you for not imposing your face to distract from the video’s subject - the train.
Beautiful! Thanks for the trip!!!
Kuga Thanks Much !.......
I love how you dressed for the occasion! Very sharp!
Spectacular and very classy! Thanks for sharing your lovely video 😊
Kuga - my son loved your videos and thinks you are the best traveler in the world
Not sure why i enjoyed this particular video so much.....but, i did! Thanx Kuga! 👍😃😉
I always appreciate that you keep the ambient noise in your videos
Wow ! What an amazing train ! I always enjoy seeing the variety of train transportation you have in Japan. Here in the U.S. we have nothing that even approaches that, which I think is very sad. I much prefer to travel by rail than to fly.
The US has a huge rail network, but when I see what other countries have, Amtrak needs to up their game. Trains in the UK are pretty crap, so I can't say much - but if the US had better rail travel options (more luxury for example), I would happily visit the US and do a rail journey cross country... but even a "bedroom" on AmTrak doesn't seem that great. When you see some of the Sleeper trains in Japan (and mainland Europe), there is definitely improvements to be made to pull people from planes to trains :)
@@wesleyswafford2462 Yeah - said isnt it. I lived in Singapore for a few years - people joke that Singapore is a "fine" city cos they fine you for everything (how I laughed...) Yes, you get fined for eating or drinking on the MRT (underground rail). However, unlike the tube in London, I have never had to deal with people drinking beer and throwing up on a Thursday night, nor trying to avoid standing in a discarded half eaten kebab with sauce on the floor. Yes, Singapore has some very harsh penalties for things (including very serious crimes), but it is clean and incredibly safe. I always said, it is a lovely place if you dont break the law. Japan was quite similar - clean and has incredibly polite people. There is a huge language barrier in Japan, as many people don't speak English (not a barrier for them - only us tourists :) ), but still, I managed to get by because everyone is so polite, thoughtful and patient. I would live in Singapore again for sure and would love to visit Japan again - but prob wouldnt live there because of the language barrier and cost - its very expensive.
You too can have a bathroom like that - if you were willing to charge people 300+ US dollars to sit in it. 😀
dam...that's not a train...that's a driving 5 stars luxus restaurant...i wish we would have trains like this here in germany
Haha, in Germany??
Considering how expensive regular trains are in the UK, this seems like a total steal!
You could easily spend £240 for a 'first class' ticket on our high speed lines that are nowhere near as luxurious as this 😭
Hello, I'm from Germany and I've been seeing you on the channel for a while. I'm a big fan of Cab Video from Japanese Trains. A few weeks ago you travelled to Europe and also to Germany. I only know the railways in Japan from RUclips, but I was really ashamed of the unpunctuality, the lousy service and the lousy sanitary facilities you had to experience here in Germany. I am also very enthusiastic about the Kumiko woodwork. On YT I have already seen how Kumiko is made. It's impressive. Furthermore, thank you for your great videos from a country that I would like to travel to in real life, but unfortunately can't.
Beautiful train i am glad you went on it thank you ❤
Thank you for another beautiful trip!
This looks really interesting and exciting! well done! :)
Aloha from Hawai'i! What a wonderful train.Thank you for sharing your excursion and the meal looked fantastic! You have inspired me and my husband to do more train travel when we visit Japan again.
Ahh Such a beautiful train
Thanks for the journey!
What a great trip. Kyushu having plenty of luxurious sightseeing train
That train looks amazing!
So beautiful! 😍That is one fancy train and meal for sure, I wouldn't no where to start eating those dishes 😅
Living The Life ✌🏻, Truly and Experience.
Thank you for an opportunity to have a little trip😉😃👋 It was amazing and interesting! Please go on!
Absolutely amazing Kuga...mind blown!!! 🙋👍👀😮🤩😎
Wonderful train 👍🍻😁
Very nice. Thank you.
That's quite a crazy over the top beautiful train! I'm glad you sacrificed from your wallet so we can enjoy this trip with you. The interior is even more spectacular too. It's all a feast for the eyes!
Nice video again.❤
We really enjoyed your video! Thank you so much for your hard work!
Hi thank you for sharing, it looked amazing and can you add information like distance, why did the journey end there and not where it started and how many hours did it take, a sneak peak around the train to see the whole inside...
Very nostalgic. Surprised it does not have a ‘Hello Kitty’ figure up front. Btw, yes, Kumiko art….not much privacy when your door is made of it. Or soundproofing. But I like the overall effect. Not sure I’d pay quite that much for it but an experience worth having.
I got stuck in that Oliver Hakata for a second, then I got the joke. 😂🤣
Many of these travels seem to be reviews of five-star restaurants on trains, with occasional glimpses out the window...
The train has eyebrows!!!
‘Garden Tailoring’ 😅😅😅 11:06
Looks like a good Murder Mystery train!😉
Local European railway company paid 5 million Euro ($5.5 million) for one low-cost diesel train (DMU) of similar length.
that was amazing Kuga, thanks
Did they make you wear a suit for the train? I've never seen you "dressy" before. And that would be a great Valentines day train ride.❤
Sweet train bro
Elegant 😊
Seriously the dishes look good but if I eat that I won't be satisfied at all😭😭😭🤩🤩🤩at times I need quantity not quality
4 MILLION DOLLARS?! HOLY CRAP
16:55 Thought that was an advert for Japanese Truck Simulator. LOLOL!
lol I wont spend neither the money to modify train this way... nor ride it for such price :))
Wooooaa
"ELEGANT!" Spy x Family reference?
Style, flair and class at a reasonable price. Chartering a private 80 toot luxury motor yacht costs a thousand times this price. Honestly, I was expecting this train to be chartered for exclusive use of just one or two people at $20,000 like a private yacht for a day
Wow that’s fancy
When you showed the drink menu I thought you would get orange juice :-) that was an expensive 4 hour trip with the 'fancy a bit of veg with a swirl to fill the plate'!
Hello from Caracas Venezuela
Dear Kuga, thank you again for another insightful video, just wondering if they offer an English menu on this train? Thank you, I look forward to ride this one in the near future.
Dessert looks delicious but tiny. Fill up the bowl! I get something like that at Costco as big as your head and it costs around Yen 250.
Whenever the fare is high I always look forward to the comment about his wallet.
you noticed in the toilet the place is larger than your seat😂
Interesting train.
Elegant!
Yeah, I felt that comment about the bathroom in my soul, hahaha. Usually, the in-house toilets around here are not exactly spacious, let's say. At leat in the very big cities like Tokyo and Osaka and so on.
What a wonderful train and a luxurious journey! Thanks for sharing.
How did you return back?
Ko ne she wa. I so enjoy your shows.
Did you ever think to speak simple
Japanese under your American subtitles?
Short / Simple / Repetitive. MY SEAT FOR TODAY.
Thanks for the shows.
Best to you Scott Whitmire
I have bad memories of Hakata station. Trying to find your way around that place was a nightmare
Some painkiller for your bleeding Wallet 😁
Wow! Thank you Zausel Cat!🤝😂
どういたしまして 🙇♂😊
Привіт з України 🇺🇦 дякую вам за невеличку подорож в розкішному вагоні! Інтер'єр, їда- на вищому рівні 😍😍😍
wish we have this in US : (
I’m going to be honest hontoo, you should have gotten a big steak for that price.
I thought the Train Suite Shiki-shima was an expensive train to go on
Last month I saw this train at Hakata station and wondering what is it? Thanks for showing us what it is.
its like something out of ouran host club! lol
I'm sure I heard someone say "Fujioka-kun" during the video 😆
Ah, the statue of the very confusing Kappa
Interesting train ride. A bit of a cultural mix. I don't think that kind of train ride exist outside Japan. I have never been in Japan but for me it is very Japanese interior design, but the food, with risotto and saffron is almost Italian, and the background music is old European classical music. Where I come from trains is only getting from A to B, even you can buy business class. But you know that
Steal the spoon!
I lost my brain a long time ago 😂 it doesn't exist 😂
Who else thinks that Fine Dining is just the Modern Art of food? I think it's cringe hahahah. Give me a Trattoria any day
Were the flowers sweet ?
Toilet failed to open automatically - B TIER! 🤪
Northern asia does best.
