Think I like this trip better with the rain, give the whole story atmosphere of the train a more magical, animated feeling, especially with how cloudy/foggy the farther away from the train out the window you got
All the people waving, even from inside buildings, is so cute and wholesome. The scenery is gorgeous, especially in the rain. Those scarecrows are pure nightmare fuel though. 🤣
That is one thing I will always enjoy seeing about Japan is the fact that they come together to see people off on various forms of transportation. Whether it be trains, ferries or even busses, Japan goes above and beyond to make people feel welcome and enjoy their time there.
Rain 🌧️ ❤ I don’t think I will ever have the opportunity to experience Japan. But I am grateful to see it through your eyes regardless of the weather I am grateful!
you never know what tomorrow brings! I had the unexpected fortune of goign to Japan in 2023 and it was beyond awesome! even if we don't have that fortune, we can experience it through these awesome videos!
We don’t often hear extra voices in these beautiful calm videos, but this was also such a nice cozy touch this time. I appreciate the quiet videos as the regular, but the friendly warm chatter that happens once new passengers board at Kotohira Station was such a treat this time.
I would have preferred a sunny day but the rain gives it a different atmosphere :) great content as usual. I would love to see more of less touristy parts of Japan. Shikoku is indeed a hidden gem.
I actually enjoyed the rain! It somehow brightens and deepens the colors of the fields. Also, it gives a cozyness to the warmth inside the train. I don't prefer one over the other, rain v. sunshine, each one has its unique features.
How nice to have people wave you off as your train leaves, and I recall that happening on some of your ferry travels too. What a nice thing to do. This is beautiful train Mr. Solo Travel Japan. You have wonderful travel videos and I wish I was free to take advantage of some Japan sight seeing. It's so pretty there and I hope you keep more videos coming.🙂
I have just discovered your channel and very much like it. In 3 trips to Japan (all of them 3-4 weeks long), the only places I have so far discovered on Shikoku are Takamatsu and Naoshima. Next March, on our 4th trip to Japan, we will travel around Tohoku, and I am very much looking forward to it. And my list of other places to visit in Japan is getting longer and longer and longer ;-). Now you are adding Shikoku to it !
The scenery is beautiful in the rain. I am in the hospital right now-I just had my remaining leg amputated, so I am really enjoying this video. Thank you for taking us along.
This whole area looks so beautiful. I'm definitely going to have to come here when I visit. STJ, you're helping me plan my whole itinerary with your videos! Thank you! 😃
In the train in its way reminds me of the shape and the decor remind me of old trains that used to see the inside of all trains used to see in the 1930s and 40s.
I love the rainy atmosphere with the rice fields zooming past the windows, Such an elegant train 🚂 For always traveling and eating - ARIGATOU GOZAIMASU 🙏
Those food and beverage prices actually look quite reasonable. But maybe that's because the rest of the world has gone overboard in this respect... ...very nice video as always, thank you so much!
This trip made me smile so much, Solo-san. The Scarecrows and the Daycare students waving to the train are the main reason to brighten up to after having bit of a hard week and I really needed a pick me up. Thank you so much for the moments and sharing how delicious the food looks. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Watching from California in August, the scenery looked gorgeous, with clouds drifting around the hills. It would be worth the train fare just to be waved at by that many smiling people! Thanks as always for the very well done sharing of your adventure. 🐻☕
It's neat to see kudzu growing where it is native. It was introduced here in the southern us and has become known as "the vine that ate the south" due to its highly invasive nature. It was intentionally introduced in the 30's to help soil erosion but quickly overtook native flora and infrastructure, and they're still fighting to kill it off. I thoroughly enjoy the flowers this time of year though, they smell like grapes and make a very good jelly 😊 To me, it is the scent of the last days of Summer.
It looks as if it would be equally breathtaking sun or rain, but the clouds and mist surely make everything just a little more beautiful, to me…thank you 🙏🏻🌟
Wow, the scenery and food look beautiful! And every time I see people waving (either in your video or on my previous Japan trips) it makes me so happy. It’s such a small thing, but it can really brighten people’s days. Shikoku has been high on my list of places to visit, I hope to go there someday and take this train 😊
While sunshine is always nice, if I have my preference, I would rather have a "dreary," rainy, misty day like you had. I find it very cozy, even while alone. I have always preferred that weather, and in the winter, I prefer a snowy day. I live in the north of New York, where we get plenty of snow. I enjoy your videos, tey are very peaceful.

I agree!
i also agree! 🇦🇺

Train and rain what a beautiful combo
Yes, indeed! I love that, too!
I caught myself waving back at everyone. It IS fun.
25 seconds into the video and the sound of rain is already making me relaxed and sleepy. Ahhhhhh...
Rain or shine, it's still a hidden gem
I love watching videos of Japanese trains in the snow, but I think rain is also nice, my second favorite.
No matter how bad the weather outside is, they'll always keep you warm and dry 😌

Such beautiful scenery. The rain enhances the trip. And curry too!
Love that the meal is more than the ticket, so worth it.
I love that rain. Nothing more beautiful than to sit somewhere sheltered and watch the rain outside. It makes me feel calm and relaxed.
Rainy days are my favorite travel days. Thank you for sharing your experience.❤️
Such a cute and 😍 lovely train. I enjoyed the rain, it's nice to look outside as the world goes by. Thank you for the tour, very relaxing video.🙏💯
I love rain, no matter how I am traveling, but on a train it is especially beautiful.
My feeling...
We don’t often hear extra voices in these beautiful calm videos, but this was also such a nice cozy touch this time. I appreciate the quiet videos as the regular, but the friendly warm chatter that happens once new passengers board at Kotohira Station was such a treat this time.

🙂 Hello, this a fantastic Train journey... with nice landscape and good food... We must try it next we are in Japan Nice video, well done
The glimpse of the waterfall was worth going backwards.
Thank you for the video. The rain made the trip even better.
7:36 both are beautiful, but this rain is a treat
I actually enjoyed the rain! It somehow brightens and deepens the colors of the fields. Also, it gives a cozyness to the warmth inside the train. I don't prefer one over the other, rain v. sunshine, each one has its unique features.
Curry!! I just knew curry would be involved! It's your signature, STJ-san. You are the Japanese Curry Expert. :D
I LOVE the rainy atmosphere, it has a magical cozy feel to it.
Exactly how I am feeling about it.
I love the rainy atmosphere, it makes the experience of being on the train even more cozy and appealing!

i love seeing the 'wavers' something we never see here in the uk
A new STJ video makes me SO happy! I am eating curry rice right now. I learned how to cook it because of your videos!
Even with the rainy weather, the views are beautiful. I certainly wouldn't be disappointed.
A beautiful train ride while enjoying a nice lunch and relaxing with rain is an amazing adventure. Thank you once again for taking us along!!

Rainy days are the best when you're inside and dry, and what a way to enjoy it. Working outside in the rain is a different story lol
The first thing I thought when I saw the rain was how cool it was going to look.
At first I thought the train was playing the theme from the Sunflower cruise line! Nice video
I am hoping to specificaly go to Japan and take a Sunflower ferry because of these videos!
The rain makes it sooooo much better
Pork Curry: 16:20 "I finished it instantly." Yeah, because there was about 3 spoonfuls there in that little cup.
I love Japan and Japanese people and culture .
So clean and peaceful and respectful.
In the train in its way reminds me of the shape and the decor remind me of old trains that used to see the inside of all trains used to see in the 1930s and 40s.

What an enjoyable and elegant journey, I think the rain enhances the mood and gives the scenery a special feel, thank you for sharing it with us.
I love the look of Japan in the rain, stunningly brautiful scenery, muted slightly but the better for it IMHO
The rainy weather made this lovely. ❤
Thank you for sharing your travels and your country to us. You are a good ambassador.
I think the rain added to the trip, personally.
Love the video. I didn’t mind the weather either. It was calming.
I like the rain it makes everything look clean and bright
Nice relaxing trip😊😊
I like the rain effect with the low clouds covering the town. The river looked like it was raging quite a bit; it was not a good day for rafting!!
Thank you for sharing! It's nice to see areas far from where I am that I will never go to. I always enjoy your travels. 💙😊
I love the rain and this train trip , it's a welcome change from an extremely warm summer. 😊
Those food and beverage prices actually look quite reasonable. But maybe that's because the rest of the world has gone overboard in this respect... ...very nice video as always, thank you so much!
4:23 I think this is fun and wonderful, just like the Ferry send off.
Kind of like the rain. It gives a new perspective. Very lovely trip. Thank you.
I think it's part of Japan! just like rain is part of Ireland and England
Thank you for posting today. I’ve been waiting.
I think the rain brings its own type of beauty with it. Things look mystical and enchanting like out of a fairy story. ❤
I enjoy all of your presentations. The only thing missing is... "Sunflower, Sunflower..." :)
Taiyo ni mamorarete...
Snacks ? Drinks ? Feet up ? LETS GOOOOO ❤❤ Thankyou Solo San for today's journey. I'm so glad I came across your channel all those many moons ago.
I love your videos! Makes me want to go back to Japan and live there haha. Loving the rainy season too!
This trip made me smile so much, Solo-san.

We love the misty and rainy atmosphere. Beautiful and relaxing.
The gorge...So beautiful! The rain is nice and makes the ride have a cozier feel to it.

I heard that the vine can grow vigorously overnight . Now I know where it came from and why it's in the south like in Appalachia.
Such a Beautiful Country, made even better by the Rain.
Thank you for sharing.
Regards from Australia. 🇦🇺👏🏽👏🏽🦘🦈
Beautiful views. Loved the rivers and the mountains with the low hanging clouds. Looked magical.
It looks as if it would be equally breathtaking sun or rain, but the clouds and mist surely make everything just a little more beautiful, to me…thank you 🙏🏻🌟
For this trip, I love the rain.
I love your train adventures. (Even if it's raining 🤣)
Wonderful trip with beautiful scenery but very wet out.
Great trip. Train trip on rainy day give you different vibes, it's very calming.
This looks like so much fun. A nice train ride, beautiful landscape in the rain, great meal with a good beer...how could you beat this?

Thanks for your recommendations! I visited here this Jan and the journey was awesome!
Beautiful in the rain. 🎉
What a lovely train, and delightful scenery too!
the two best weather types out there are rain and snow!
Very nice, the scenery was beautiful, and the food looked good. Was the curry spicy?
Scenery and food- the best combination! Thank you

I loved the journey much more in the rain, but then curry appeared out of nowhere
Japan is beautiful 😊

Lovely train ride, food, the curry 😋fantastic, and the views to dead for even when raining. Many thanks for the video .😊
The waterfall was beautiful with all the footage around it beautiful
That should be "with green bean". It looks like one cut in half.😁
cute train, beautiful scenery, food looked amazing.
I love seeing the homes and landscape
