Right? A paper thin sheet of wood? I love PRS SE guitars and am gassing hard for that Red standard, but I'm calling BS on that tone difference as well.

Not the veneer, the maple top that the veneer sits on top of. It has a full maple cap.
Yeah the entire top is maple. Just not a premium cut.
