Based on the acts of kindness that makes us stand all… today in Australia. Someone stole a delivery van. That culprit threw about 11 parcels out the window. A little red car that was following the van stopped. A lady picked the parcels and personally delivered to the people expecting their parcels at this time of Christmas. It was caught on dash cam Not on tic tic oe Facebook . The lady when interviewed was in tears when speaking to a tv reporter. She ought to be congratulated. We acknowledge the beautiful person that she is. Jose from Australia

I tried to be kind to a person at Christmas who was homeless gave him a room in my house and shared my food with him I was shocked and still am that this person took advantage of my kindness I have been taken advantage of many times so I’m now helping no one I’m taking care of myself tired of being taking advantage of people to day have a sense of entitlement that is difficult for me to comprehend I do believe in being compassionate and kind but I’ve learned to be wise 😅and not to be taken advantage of thank you for the video
I agree with this. And most of the video although, I believe people are always homeless by choices they makes in their lives. We would all be homeless if we didn't discipline ourselves. Whether it's drug abuse or simple misfortune, we all must deal with our struggles the best way possible but, I've helped people in need only to have them attempt to reject my help for a room or a meal instead of money and time and again all they really wanted was the money so, I no long try to help those that won't help themselves.

Take this with a major pinch of salt. I've been kind to everyone all my life but been badly abused. I will become very frustrated quickly and react with anger to inconveniences not because I have no heart, but because I am traumatised. Then you lose care for everyone when all they do is take bit treat you as if you are invisible. When they demand off you in your darkest hour but won't listen for one millisecond when your heartbis broken. I'm alone xmas day and I'm the kindest person I know. People have their limits. Don't judge.

We do need to remember what We all know is right, but lost somewhere, along the way. Be kind, be gentle, be honest. Give if have anything to spare, remember, we could be in need one day. Remember Prayer, for yourself and for others
Good points made here. The hardest thing for many people to do is, something kind without being noticed. When one is kind to another it should be between them, the other person, and God only. To desire to show others shows lack of sincerity.

My grown-up son has ‚studied‘ Stoicism, I see him rarely but when we meet, I experience him ‚stonewalling‘, you know the cold stare, no emotional response, walking away when there is an obvious problem to solve. He and his sister had a very privileged and protected childhood, both decided as adults to not be parents themselves. My daughter has adapted the same behaviour. As an elderly woman now, I have a need to connect on a mental and an emotional level, to feel accepted and respected by my children. I feel rejected. Stoicism gone wrong? Or is it me, again, who needs to take the blame? (being the scape goat was my role in our home).
I admire all the stoic wisdom but I also think that the updated version of the way the world is I don’t think that a queue in a coffee shop wasn’t an issue back then

These attributes can be taught by a deliberate process of analysis and introduction of new alternatives to old habits of reaction or what can also be seen as a person’s character. I didn’t realize until lately the stoicism parallels.

20:05 love the shopping cart analogy 😂 sadly that gave the whole thing away sadly that this is AI at its best how it is slowly programming people while appearing to give you current wisdom on old philosophy that is not anything like the original work of the stoics named and people are not going to find a book that hopefully has the original stoic mindset and not the modern stoic mindset that is constantly repeating itself in this video, some computers preprogrammed message to stop people learning about history I’m sorry but the modern stoic mindset is just like everything that makes up the halting of individuality and creativity , sadly it is not inspiring but rather not relevant in the way of shopping carts or is this sponsored by Tesco

A person’s mood, like leaves of a tree, can vary with the wind. Twisting, turning, bowing, adjusting, conforming. But, the trunk, like character, never bows, and stands firm, against outside forces. We are not one,or the other, but all, at the same time. To define a tree, solely by the leaves, would not be an accurate depiction of any individual.

It all makes a lot of sense, but it’s talking about everyone as if everyone is an equal. A lot of the stuff they’re saying is bad people and to stay away from is typical reactions People have when they are raised in narcissistic abusive families. The choices they make to distract themselves are to distract themselves from all the pain they constantly endure every single day.

You need to stop doing generalisations. Long story but pretty much left to raise my 3 under 3 when the only weekend my partner was able to be with us for an entire weekend, his parents would drag him off to do jobs and yet on the other 2 weekends in the 3 week cycle. Nothing. This above is BS

Be very careful who you help, the Bible says To be as harmless as doves by as wise as serpents. If they are homeless ICE ADDICTS who are homeless for a reason. I helped the homeless Ice addicts from 2019 to 2024 until i had enough of the disrespect and stealing from the very people i was trying to help. I got lied about assaulted 9 times and raided by the Police 3 times and lost my inheritance money of $350,000.00 but I still help the homeless. But now i am more careful who i help. God Bless. Remember. Jesus Christ is Lord.

@ When helping people now i am more cautious and rely on GOD so much more and use my power to ignore people who are clearly of the loser mentality. The old saying comes to mind, You can only help someone who wants to be helped. Like my old friend Dracky who spent 38 years as a homeless person before i decided to help him. For 4 years i helped him with food a place to stay on my couch when he needed it and hot food in his belly. He now has a place of his own at Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia 🇦🇺. I was homeless myself for six years or so. Compassion for fellow humans is needed and a strong faith in Almighty GOD. Thank you GOD BLESS.

@Eleanor-ec8qp Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s inspiring to see how you've learned to balance compassion with wisdom-something stoics deeply value. Power and money reveal true character of the person e.g. politicians.
Power and money changed my sisters. Not in a good way.

This video brilliantly highlights how small, everyday actions-like how we treat those who can't benefit us-truly reflect our character. The reminder to align private actions with public values resonates deeply. A powerful lesson in living with integrity and purpose!
My #1 is, how they drive.
Especially, when they are alone (and don’t know you’ve seen them).
I feel the same way. That is one reason that I wish that my husband doesn't exist. He's a road rager, to extremes.
That's an interesting perspective-how someone drives can definitely reveal a lot about their patience and temperament, especially when they're alone! Stoics might say it's in those unguarded moments that true character shines. What other signs do you think are key to spotting someone's true colors? Keep watching and sharing your thoughts on our videos here on 'Stoic In Your Life'!

We do need to remember what
We all know is right, but lost somewhere, along the way.
Thank you for sharing your thoughtful perspective! Stoics truly value the sincerity of actions done without the need for recognition, as it aligns with living virtuously for its own sake. Returning a shopping cart can mean different things to different people. People with handicapps appreciate having a cart to help them get into the store. And appreciated.

I admire all the stoic wisdom but I also think that the updated version of the way the world is I don’t think that a queue in a coffee shop wasn’t an issue back then
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! You're absolutely right-modern challenges like a coffee shop queue weren’t on the Stoics’ radar back then, but their timeless principles can still guide us in how we approach everyday frustrations today. How do you think Stoic wisdom could apply to other modern situations? We'd love to hear more of your thoughts! Keep exploring more videos on 'Stoic In Your Life'-your insights are always welcome!

These attributes are, intrinsic, fundamental, the ~Essence, of an individual.....I,really,don't see how such can be taught..
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! You're absolutely right that these traits are deeply intrinsic and fundamental. These attributes can be taught by a deliberate process of analysis and introduction of new alternatives to old habits of reaction or what can also be seen as a person’s character. Awareness is key and can be had by practicing mindfulness in all parts of one’s life. I learned this personally, in part by cognitive behavioral therapy. I didn’t realize until lately the stoicism parallels.
@@shazzorama
There are, to an extent, attributes that can be taught, however, not so where, most importantly, the ~Heart, is involved.
The individual might well score high in IQ, Might ,perhaps, be a business magnate or a world leader. Yet, at the same time, care little for the welfare of either the planet or the people...Which is,precisely, why so many suffer here, needlessly, as they do..

20:05 love the shopping cart analogy 😂 sadly that gave the whole thing away sadly that this is AI at its best how it is slowly programming people while appearing to give you current wisdom on old philosophy that is not anything like the original work of the stoics named and people are not going to find a book that hopefully has the original stoic mindset and not the modern stoic mindset that is constantly repeating itself in this video, some computers preprogrammed message to stop people learning about history
I’m sorry but the modern stoic mindset is just like everything that makes up the halting of individuality and creativity , sadly it is not inspiring but rather not relevant in the way of shopping carts or is this sponsored by Tesco

I know hat is the creatura of mony by protestans church

It all makes a lot of sense, but it’s talking about everyone as if everyone is an equal. A lot of the stuff they’re saying is bad people and to stay away from is typical reactions People have when they are raised in narcissistic abusive families. The choices they make to distract themselves are to distract themselves from all the pain they constantly endure every single day.
