In fact, regularly training with the likes of FZD, Ma long or LJK and being trained by guys like wang hao or ma Lin, I wouldn't be surprised to see him improve even more than Felix who unfortunately trains with much weaker players and is trained by weaker coaches
@@financialliberty2381 what it implies is that felix is way less experienced than wang chuqin and other players and will improve as he plays more and more players and the chinese league will also benefit him Sure, wq will improve as well but in my opinion felix will improve more than him as he has better potential than wq and wq is already world rank 2 and is about to reach his prime whereas felix is yet to reach his prime
Improve more doesn't mean much in this case. For example, assuming at the moment Wang is 90/100, then Felix is like 70/100. After few years Wang reach 95 and Felix reach 85, then sure Felix did improve more than Wang, but still not gonna good enough to compete with Wang. I doubt that Felix can reach 90 even in his prime. Despite having high hope in Lebrun bros my self, I'm afraid that after a few years, people will forget about how good he was now just like what happened with Harimoto, and praise another new young talent.
A heavy sign of relief from Wang Chuqin's coach Wang Hao. As Wang Chuqin is one of 3 targeted Chinese players for Paris Olympic, his loss to a non-Chinese player would make coaching staff's job a lot tougher. Needless to say Felix played well and did give Wang some threat. Hope Felix can continue to improve so he can be a more threat to the Chinese. Fan Zhengdong had a tough match against Jogic today. One can sense that the gap between Chinese elite players and the best of non-Chinese players is narrowing, which will make the sport more exciting.
Man, it will be tough to cut one player between Fan, Ma Long and Wang Chuqin. I think Fan is a lock so it will probably be beween Ma and Wang. While Wang is the better player today, Ma can still beat any player on any day (except Wang, ironically). Really tough decision.
It doesn't help Felix to get into back and forth fast paced exchanges with WCQ bc Wang is simply better in that aspect. Take nothing away from Felix his is a strong player but Wang was reading most of his shots and knew where to position himself for a counter.

Wang Chuqin can attack nearly anything. Lebrun really needs to attack first, which he does against most opponents. Then the rally is in Lebrun's favor as the opponent is continuing by reflex due to Lebrun's quickness rather than playing the strongest shot. However, once Wang's attack gets going, the odds are against Lebrun to survive the point.

It seems to me that the Chinese win most of the long rallies. Felix only won one such rally in this match and WCQ won all the others. And this seems to be a pattern for Chinese Vs European players - and I've watched a lot of matches. My theory is that Chinese players play at a higher level throughout their youth development and therefore develop more "muscle memory" to withstand long rallies. Felix probably had little competition at the youth level in his own country, and thus is not used to rallies lasting so long and so doesn't have the "muscle memory."
Félix is STILL at the youth level :D, he hasn't even finished high school yet. Also, France has the strongest TT league (tie with Germany) outside of China. I don't think it was the long rallies that cost him the game but the short game. Also, somehow both WCQ and Ma Long have found a way to heavy loop a mid long push, no matter how heavy and deep the push is. I compete in the French league so understand that taking the ball early helps but to loop it this hard and this direct is something else. It feels like the backspin doesn't bother them at all. WCQ did it in this match and Ma Long did it against Jang Woojin.

Thank you for this terrible camera angle form the roof!
cool
👌👌👍👍👏👏
The serve of whang ist...
Not many comments mentioning that WCQ still hides his serves with his massive head and you can see that serve return is really the key difference in this match. If forced to serve legally he would not be challenging FZD for number 1 in my opinion.
YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHH TATOOOOOOOOO
Many faulty serves by Wang - ball contact over the table, but it must be behind table’s back line.
Wang serve over table and illegal.
R u the umpire? If umpires did not say it was illegal in this match and other matches, then his serve had no issue. It was noticed that some people just simply hate Wang. They knew nothing about serve but just followed others’ comment, pretending knowing tt serve while they had no idea what over table means and could not give a sample of over table.
You can play the video in slow motion like 0.25 speed and then you will see that it is legal.
It must have been the camera angle. Trust that the umpires are not blind… 😅
You think you’re better than judge? Shut up 🤫
Worst angle ever to see the match.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
French team is awesome and promising. On the other hand, the Chinese team will face challenges. Only fan zheng dong is a super star. Wcq is not consistent enough. Ma long is no longer invincible. The other Chinese players are not in the super class.
Another level ? This is not evident , it s exagerate Lebrun should was not so far !
Both brother are overrated. Chinese players are another level
service chinois completement faux
