Congratulations on your full set! I've been slowly working on my Nintendo Power collection for about three years now. I've custom-built a magazine rack to properly display them and it's always so nice to walk past it and glance at all the covers. Right now I have about 40 issues, but someday I'd love to own each and every one. I've had the most luck on eBay buying lots of them; my best deal so far is 12 issues for only $75 mid last year.
I still have my original copies of the last’s 24 issues of Nintendo Power. I was 8 when my Dad first got the subscription and we stuck it out until the end. Awesome part of my collection nowadays. Congrats on completing your collection!
Your videos never cease to impress! I love Nintendo Power, and still have my 60+ issues from the middle of the run. Congratulations on completing the collection! Keep up the amazing content!
I love how you put so much effort into the display of the items you collected. It looks so good and definitely much better than if all the magazines were in a box in the corner of your basement.
Congrats on finally completing the collection! Me and my brother used to be subscribed to them growing up so we have a decent amount but I never managed to get them all. This really makes me wanna start hunting for the rest now it was such a big part of my childhood
I was born in December 2003, and the latest issue was volume 174, which had GBA Fire Emblem on the cover. (The first FE to release in the states) It also talked about MK Double Dash, Kirby Air Ride, and MGS. I'd love to own that issue myself someday, as a memento of what happened during the month of my birth. Amazing collection btw.
I was born in 87' and I was an avid fan of Nintendo Power magazine! I had a large collection of them until I had to move and sadly had to get rid of them. But DAMN, seeing them all like this definitely brings joy to my heart! Thank you for sharing!
What made Nintendo Power great was that the magazines were packed with game tips, strategies, maps and secrets. Having a library of them back in the day meant you had "the power" and access to a ton of gaming tips. But over time, they started having less and less of that type of content.
It’s amazing to see these have resale value. I used to have boxes and boxes of these from my childhood (still might have them in storage). But I use to take these everywhere. Vacations, bedrooms…. Bathrooms. I don’t know, on the one hand I kinda get it. Nintendo Power is iconic. On the other hand, it was just the marketing arm of Nintendo. But people want what people want.
Very nice overview. I started subscribing around issue 89, and I’ve been working on the back catalog. I think I’m down to missing about 30 issues last I checked.
I got about 10 magazines from a garage sale, 6 were guides, 4 of them were nintendo powers and I read those near everyday. I loved everything about them. Now I am on the search for more
Here's my story with Nintendo Power. I was in elementary school. Every time it was time to go to the library to check out up to 2 new books, I would ask the librarian if I could read a magazine for the rest of the time I was there. She said I could, and I would always pick Nintendo Power. I didn't know what Nintendo Power was at the time, I had a SNES and an N64 that my siblings let me play with, and I had no idea that the three were connected. Crazy, right? Anyway, now that I'm older, I kinda wish I had the chance to head to the library of my elementary school, and ask the librarian if I could take those issues of Nintendo Power off her hands at no extra charge. But now, I guess I'll have to resort to reading them online until the Internet Archive gets every single issue up on their website for reading.
This would honestly be a cool hobby for me to get into I already love retro Nintendo stuff but considering all of the Nintendo Power Magazines I see for sale are like 5 dollars for a lot of 10 I might honestly collect them. Anyways great video as always and have a nice day 🙂!
Loved the video! The display looks sweet! I started with issue 19 (ironically the 4 player issue, and we never had a Four Score) and stopped once the N64 took over (we had a playstation). I think my dad did the "free copy of Dragon Warrior" deal back in the day. I definitely remember Howard and Nestor. I also loved the 12 part comics for Mario World and Link to the Past. And yeah the Mario 3 Strategy Guide (issue 13?) was incredible. It was fun to read the magazines and learn about games, and then go to the video store to try them out!
This is so cool to see again. Im on the lookout for these more again now. You can still find good deals on them in a lot for 3-5 dollars per issue. I forget if I sent you any issues when i sold mine, I feel like I did send a couple. Would love to know which ones they were!
I would lose my mind seeing some of the content in these if you make individual videos. Like specifically I remember obsessively reading about pokemon ruby and sapphire over and over and over 😂 nostalgia hits hard
Hey lithium, there’s a Canadian version of the Nintendo fun club news called “Nintendo power flash”. Pretty hard to find and they released them in both French and English for the Canadian market. I managed to find 7 of the 9 issues released, of course the first and last were missing. Always enjoy your content!
Oh hey, you used that website I recommended for making checklists, glad that you found that useful, it is a very detailed description for collecting. I compiled a checklist for keeping track of my own collection, and using the website is so helpful.
Very nice video in congratulations on completing your collection. I finished my collection years ago. As far as making sure to collect all the variants possible. One example of the first variant available is issue number one. One variable say free poster in the other variant will stay free copy
Dude!! I will always remember that first issue with all the Super Mario 2 tips when it came out! I think I may have the first year or two of issues in a box somewhere! Great memories! I used to wait at the end of my driveway for the mail man to deliver the next issue! Back in 88!
🎉🎊 Congrats on completing your Nintendo Power magazines 🎊🎉 🙂 I never had Nintendo Power because, I live in the UK. (Where I was born) 👍 Once again, congratulations on completing that achievement. 👍✅ Well done!
Congrats on getting them all. I got a whole box of Nintendo powers for 5 bucks at a garage sale last year there was over 50 of them. So cool to look at them brings back memories.
Love your collection. I had the first 20 odd volumes when my dad got me an NES from a swap meet. Most of them got destroyed when our house flooded. I'm rebuilding the collection up to volume 30 now.
I am a Sega fan at heart, but NP was huge part of my childhood, and I am going for a complete set of 1 - 150 (just before GameCube launch). I am about 20 issues short (missing several from 11 - 20, and 60 - 80). I was a subscriber from January 1997 - Mid 2001, but inherited issues 1 - 72 from my then stepbrother also in 1997. The funny thing about Chris Slate is that he was Editor in Chief of GamePlayers/Ultra GamePlayers and PSM (which I have a complete set of since 1997), and he came out years later that despite his time with PSM, he was still a hardcore Nintendo fanboy.
What a nice complete set! As much as I want to collect these, I never see them for sale locally and I do not want to resort to sites like eBay. So I have the few ones I have from 2010 to the end in 2012.
This entire collection brings me back to when I got the magazine in the mail as a kid, I distinctly remember the issue with Yoshi's Story on the cover being my first issue, and it kept going from there until the last issue arrived, I still miss it to this day... #NintendoPowerForever
Work for a place that did the Nintendo Power Mags from issue March-April 1989 up to issue 129. All the strategy guides and everything that was given away to subscribers from Pins, Pogs, Player cards, T shirts.... Sent back for 2 copies of the first 4 issues from Nintendo of America. I sealed multiple copies of them all and have saved them in mint condition. The only ones where the pages have been turned is when they had the card sets where if you competed the set with the winning card you won a game. I have 2 copies of each with the winning card. Co-workers thought I was nuts. Just saw the July/August 1988 issue with a CGC rating of 9 on EBay for $10,999. Yeah, they said I was nuts.
The Shadows of the Empire issue had 4 different covers. The rarest at 10% and only given to random subscribers was IG88, which I was lucky enough to have as I was a subscriber at the time.

Congrats. Yeah older magazines are definitely worth a lot of money. A while back got a big box that have Nintendo Power and Dragon Ball Z mags for just $2. Some of the Dragon Ball Z mags were sold for over $50 each. Nintendo Power some of them got for a few bucks as you said. Still have my original issue 1. Had a new sealed Chrono Trigger mag that I got for $1 that sold for $125.

I wish I collected the older magazines as a kid. I still have some but they will cost an arm and a leg. My first task is to collect every Nintendo Handheld, then get every Nintendo Console. After that go for all the Game and Watch Systems. I have most of the Handhelds including two Pokémon edition Gameboy Colors.
@@NintendoCollecting Thank you, I have two Gameboy Pockets but one doesn't work due to water damage. The other works but I need to replace the burned out screen. I have the Original Gameboy from my uncle but he didn't take the best care of it. I'm missing the Gameboy Light, Gameboy Micro, Nintendo DS Lite,DSI, DSI XL, 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, and New 3DS XL. I had a DS Lite at one point but sold it. I regretted it since then, I try to keep all my handhelds. The Light didn't release outside of Japan if I remembered correctly so they will be pricey to get a hold of. I saw them going for 300 dollars or more a few years ago. I don't know how much they go for now.
Do you have the "how to win at Super Mario bros" Nintendo official guide from 87? Or the official Nintendo players guide from 87? Or the super mario 2 inside out 1 & 2 from Nintendo power? Mario Mania or Mario All Stars guides?
Hey i just got a huge lot of nintendo power mags and there so coll but i wanna frame some of the poster do you know the dementions ? Thanks love ypur channel :)
Here in the uk it’s very hard to get Nintendo power magazines. I only have one and it’s issue 33. The problem is they don’t come up for sale here because we didn’t get them so I’d have to pay £15 to get them here but because they are magazines there’s a massive chance they’d be bent :(
I didn’t even know that the Nintendo power magazine were worth and thing I was buying it in 1988 and Have everyone. Up 2010 I quit my subscription . But have everything one in between those year even the special edition that came with it . Still have my 3-D virtual boy my favorite game on that was 3-D pin ball. Power glove, tip trick packets that came. Still have box and games my friend told me that Nintendo power magazine had value. I was shocked. I look like I have everything that there .

I don't know how much they go for now.
Late AF to the party, but CONGRATS!
Do you have the "how to win at Super Mario bros" Nintendo official guide from 87? Or the official Nintendo players guide from 87? Or the super mario 2 inside out 1 & 2 from Nintendo power? Mario Mania or Mario All Stars guides?

My copy of Nintendo Power 1995 Bonus Issue has two front pages

hey so now that there is no Nintendo power magazine anymore....is there a magazine like it where you can get things like posters and stuff?????
which issue talked about the possible CD drive for the SNES?
Amazing
Id like to collect only up til gamecube era. btw second quest is refering to the game+ in the first Zelda
What a legend
But do you have the variant of volume one, where it says "free sample copy" instead of "free poster inside"? 🤔
Awesome! Just curious... How much did you spend on these?
It looks like you’re missing some of the strategy guides. For example, I don’t see the CHRONO Trigger guide. Maybe it’s just tucked away in there.
Nintendo Power was available to residents of Canada. Were French issues of the magazine ever made?
