Would love to see a video on fear of death and the fear of oblivion and eternity. Struggle to find any good information on how to approach that specific subject. It's the inevitability of it tagged on to the tear that I find it difficult to deal with.

I can accept DPDR knowing it’s anxiety and go out and ignore it, Iv actually had it before 6 years ago for about 3 months. But it’s the existential fears/thoughts along with it that make it hard to continue what I’m doing now.. and definitely doesn’t feel like I can still experience joy when I’m having them- more so sucks the joy out of every moment. 😔 I miss my life.

@@Goatcasper Well for starters I got a proper diagnosis of existential OCD. (Turns out Iv had OCD my whole life and never knew) So it helped to learn the ins and outs of the disorder. And 100% stop ruminating in your head and engaging with these thoughts, stop trying to prove them wrong because that’s impossible to do- accepting the fact you’ll never have the answers, nobody does, has or ever will. This was step one for me and at first your anxiety will go up.. but that’s okay it’s learning to tell yourself anxiety sucks but it will not kill me- learning to sit with the fear/discomfort and continue on with your day instead of engaging with whatever thoughts are causing you fear and trying desperately to seek comfort or answers to get rid of the anxiety. It’s a dead end road and it’s gunna keep you in this cycle longer. You might find something that makes you feel better for 5 minutes but then your brain will come up with something else to counteract it “but what if this…” then your back in the fear loop. So learning not to engage with it at all no matter how shitty it feels for awhile. All of a sudden your anxiety fear will start to go down/these thoughts won’t take up so much space or bother you so much. Then you start to realize it was anxiety the whole time making things feel so “real”
One thing that hasn’t gone away for me is the awakening I guess to how absurd everything is.. but now I just feel more spiritual and just like “wow” instead of fear. 😊 I also appreciate being in the moment a lot more. It definitely is hard to go through DPDR/Existential OCD will bring you to your knees I know, but you’ll be okay!

How does one except the idea that everything is predetermined and everything playing out the way it’s going to play out. Like having no agency at all?

Im currently stuck bad on this theme too! It’s fucking torture. Imo, it’s my worst theme. It fucks me so bad. I’m tryna figure out how to accept it too. Have you found anything?

@@KaptainKash100 I don't really have any advice I just want to say that I am in the same boat and I feel the pain you're both experiencing. My worst theme as well.

So I found a podcast with Sam Harris and Robert sapolsky and they both basically agreed that the future is not set in stone and that determinism is a way to describe how we got to where we are now. Obviously the past is set in stone because it already happened. Sam Harris is who got me on the theme in the first place but hearing that from them just got rid of that obsession. But it morphed into something else under the same kind of theme ( having control)

This is my worst theme so far. The only other theme I can think of that scared me as much as this one is the religious fear of going to hell. I wrote a song about solipsism though (its on my youtube channel) and I'm at least happy that I was able to create art that was inspired by my suffering.
