- Using old family plans and templates we made a batch cedar butterfly houses. Cedar is perfect for outdoors as it is rot resistance and the copper roof will patina nicely. One side opens so you can place sticks in it for a resting spot for your butterfly guests.

How wide are the entrance slots? Half inch?
Used a 3/8th inch drill bit. So roughly that size.
