How to Connect Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to Pokémon GO (Gimmighoul and Vivillion)

- In this video I show how to connect Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to Pokémon GO, and what benefits both games get from doing so.
If you send a postcard from Pokémon GO, Vivillion in S/V will begin to spawn with the pattern that corresponds to the place of origin of the postcard in the real world.
In Pokémon GO meanwhile, you'll get the Coin Bag item which works as a sort of incense that will attract Gimmighoul to your trainer for 30 minutes, bringing about one each 5 minutes. Catching them has a chance to get a Gimmighoul coin, 999 are required to evolve into Gholdengo.
It seems that after sending more postcards to the Switch games, you'll be able to get Golden Lures, which wil turn Pokéstops into golden ones and reward Gimmighoul coins when spinning them. Right now there aren't many details, but I'll update any new information here!

At the moment you can't connect using Samsung galaxy. I used my old phone LG Stylus and was able to connect pokemon go to pokemon violet.

mine keeps saying no pokemon go account could be found to pair with! I have absolutly no idea what I'm doing wrong. I have bluetooth and stuff on. whenever I press connect to nintendo switch on my app the switch tells me there is no account

After pairing to switch, go to your post cards on GO and send to switch. While it’s sending connect to GO from the switch and boom. 🙏🏼🙌🏼
yup, happy to help! the feature was buggy at launch as the video shows but at this point it should be working without issues.

On Android, I've tried several times but I can't even pair PoGo to my Switch. It just keeps telling me no account found
Same but for my brother that also has an android but from another brand and it works perfectly for him
Some of the newer model phones won't connect especially Samsung galaxy. Try using another phone. It works.

I can’t do it it’s saying device Bluetooth is off but both my switch and phone Bluetooth is on is there anything I’m missing?
I was able to get this feature to work, thanks for sharing! I also just wanted to share so this doesn’t deter some people from trying that mine connected almost instantly when doing the gift transfer. I would’ve gone mad if I had to wait 40+ minutes 😅

I have android and had the issues, however my friend has iphone and he said everything went perfect for him

@@MilosTown Yessir, I do have an iPhone. But it’s an Xs Max, not sure if there’s a difference in the iPhone models though.

I also had issues connecting with my Google pixel 7 Android phone, but when I tried using Pokémon Go my old Samsung galaxy 8+, it worked first try. It's infuriating that newer android phones seem to struggle to connect - if you're using a recent model, I suggest trying on a friend's older android phone or iPhone.
Day 3 of trying, a bit of an update, i still heavily struggle to get the postcard to send succesfully
I do not need to have bluethoot on, not sure exactly how they find each other but ive had it off for days 2 and 3 and whenever it actually succeeded it didnt seem like it needed it.
FYI i have a samsung galaxy s10e from 2019. I keep seeing more people struggle to send or even sync both devices, honestly not sure what can be done to make it work properly... i genuinely hope they fix this soon

Anyone know if the postcard affects what Vivillon form Scatterbug and Spewpa caught in SV evolves into? Or does the card only affect Vivillon that you find?
I verified catching a scattterbug and evolving all the way, the entire line changes to be the pattern you send.
someome help it says on my pokemon go “please connect device to bluetooth” but it is?

ANDROID PEOPLE, sorry for the caps had to get your attention. Nintendo connect to the phone with Bluetooth, whatever protocol it uses is terrible.
To connect your switch to your phone disconnect all your Bluetooth devices. That includes idle connections like a smartwatch. (My Garmin keeps me from connecting). Once everything is disconnect turn your bluetooth on and off. Then try to connect.
hmm.. ive actually managed to send the postcards (though after many failed attempts) with my phone bluethoot off. not sure how honestly. on the video i did have it on.
currently on my phone's paired devices, i had some random audio thing that i dont even know what it was, and the switch itself. so you suggest to unlink everything (including the switch) and try then?
i already sent for today so i might have to try tomorrow
your method seems to have worked
I unlinked every single device i had on bluethoot, kept bluethoot on, and while it still gave me some retries, i was able to send in like about 6 retries only, like 5 minutes tops. WAY better than all the previous times

today for the first time i was actually able to send the postcard first try. not sure if niantic fixed something on their end or if it was indeed your method.

So when i click on nintendo switch it comes up saying "bluetooth is disabled" yet its active on my phone and none of the videos or google searches im doing will let me see if its something on my switch. what should i do?
is it a pokemon go pop up message? or a phone system message? it could be you dont have permissions for PoGO to access bluethootor something. im not sure

this should be unlocked to do when you are given free roam to the treasure hunt, when you unlock tera raid battles. it is relatively early into the game after you reach the school

I wonder if you cant connect or pair withing the 24 hours, because i had that issue all morning, but i tried it after what i thought was the 24 min period, and it finally worked for me. This goes for pairing AND connecting.. before the 24 hr period i tried checking updates, reinstalled pogo, cleared caches, everything... All the troubleshooting didnt work for just pairing the two together until after the 24 hr period. (Pairing shouldn't be 24 hr restricted, i know connecting is though)
i never experienced having to wait 24 hours, since its GO the one who keeps track of daily stuff using your local time, that was the only factor that played for me. i know at times i would send a postcard at about 8pm and then at 9am the next day

Can other people's GO accounts pair with you so you don't have to trade them? Or is it once per day only or once per day per account paired? It's so confusing
yes you totally can.
you can link as many accounts you want. the only thing that's really happening is that the GO accounts are getting the feature to send postcars over enabled, so your switch will just broacast a signal and any account linked can send.
i have 2 accounts and i send in both daily back to back
the daily send limit is only per GO account, you can recieve on the switch as many as you like
Have you heard about gltiching/ corrupted files that result in sending over postcards to S/V? I heard about it a while back. I'm interested if it was fixed.
That happened to an incredibly little amount of users, often times corruption problems like this are due to faulty SD cards. And no more reports were known after like the first 2 weeks.
rest assured nothing will happen if you try this nowadays.

My Pokemon Go isn't detecting my Switch. Both on the same Wifi and had Violet both online and offline. Also my version of Pokemon Go settings menu looks different from yours.

Same thing here, base nintendo switch, pokemon scarlet, Android (samsung A3) and all i get is a "failure to connect to the nintendo switch" whenever i try to pair them
is your bluethoot enabled on your phone? you need bluethoot to pair the devices
I guess it is a typical Niantic bug. I managed to get some Ghimmighoul on Feb 27, but yesterday no success and today neither. My Switch and phone don't find each other at all anymore.

And on the contrary, if you are on iphone, did you manage to send it without much problem?
I do not know for certain yet but i may believe some of the problems when sending may have to do with that, if i can get more people confirm their situation it could help me get s better picture. Personally I have android and had the issues as the video shows, but a friend on iphone did not have problems sending.

you are only allowed to SEND from any GO account once per day, if you attempt to send another postcard it will tell you that you cannot until the next day. Any console can recieve as many postcards however. The vivillions in SV will be overwritten to whatever latest postcard was recieved

you mean the postcard transfer? i know you do need bluethoot to link the console and phone, but im not entirely sure if its needed for the second step. i did have it on the whole time though.

you dont need internet on your switch to do this, besides downloading the update

YES. I'm having this exact problem! SO ANNOYING! I have no idea how to fix it either. As far as I know, both of my devices are Bluetooth enabled and have a stable internet connection

I actually found the solution.
1. Go to settings and search Pokemon Go.
2. Make sure that the Bluetooth setting is ON, because for mine it was OFF. So I turned it on.
3. When I went back to the game, it allowed me to connect.

Because gen 9 support has not been released yet, HOME does not have the information to store paldea pokemon yet

you can't directly transfer from GO to S/V, you'll have to wait for HOME support in a few months, so you can do GO to HOME and then into gen 9

Well, as of today, 9/8/23 it does not work at all. I imagine it's due to more sh**ty programming on Niantic's part. Or just another feature that was HORRIBLY launched before it was ready or even working properly.

you have already paired the GO and console games right?
if it never gets to the "sending postcard" text, cancel the option on the console and start it again. you can also cancel the sending completely on GO and start it again.
i had to keep doing that until it eventually worked
