Thanks for doing this! I too am not particularly married to any one type of pen for my planners and journals, so it’s not going to affect me either way, but there are many people whose content I enjoy watching who make such pretty pages with lovely inks, and it’s sad to think how much that might have to change if the paper so many use is now unreliable. It must be a cost thing, the original Tomoe River company closing and the new one making inferior paper. I don’t know why the original company closed down, but maybe it was unsustainable to make such quality paper without being able to charge insanely high prices. My fondness for the paper is entirely due its thinness. It’s so nice to be able to have a year’s worth of pages in something that weighs a fraction of an Erin Condren or a Happy Planner, and takes up much less space. Plus I love the crinkliness, that lovely feel and sound of the paper once it’s been written on.
@@AuntieAlexandra Yes I agree with all of this. I really wonder what people will do or if they will find work-arounds. It’s so nice to have so many pages in one book and at first I didn’t understand the appeal but have totally fallen in love with it too. 🥰
I was so excited to use the twines and paper planner this year but was bummed with the bleed through and heavy ghosting in mine 😢 so now I’m questioning my choice .. I have used the same pens since 2014 tomoe river planners were first introduced to me and even after the paper changes they all still worked fine…until this year! Sadly this years paper batches across multiple companies have kinda been hit or miss but more miss than I’d like ?
Yes, this year has been rough. And same, I was really trusting that the T&P would be right in line with all the other tomoe papers. I am mostly hoping they figure out the problem so they can fix it. Personally I can find workarounds this year but I know many won’t be able to.
Yes, I was editing and saw it more clearly so I had to include a note. It's interesting to see it in person and then on the screen and it's slightly different, but I am also still recovering so my brain is fuzzy.

Thank you for this. That ghosting is terrible.
Glad it helped!

How does a fountain pen perform in the Twines and Paper TRP?
@@SweetMimi84 I don’t have one to test. I am hoping someone else can test it and let us know!
In the sterling Inc. they are definitely coming through stronger for the 2025. Darn.
