Hi, I'm Katie and I may plan a bit differently from others. I am neurodivergent and planning around chronic illnesses, so I write in pencil and leave things very flexible. I also misspeak and misspell a lot due to auditory processing and dyslexia. I use tarot and oracle cards to help me navigate my upcoming week along with a separate vertical life planner, work planner, and daily journal. I also love to do tiny tidies around the home in unique ways that work for my brain and energy.

    I'm just 10 minutes into this video and I have to tell you I'm so glad your video came up on my feed. Thank you for going deep and for your thoughts. The part about working through things and then documenting things that are difficult and later not wanting to revisit those pages is something I have noticed when I don't "like" certain planners/journals. The last five years I have gone between Hobonichi to a TN (which I really loved for the compartmentalization) but just did not enjoy the sensory steps of all the clips to keep the planners open and the limited space, to now a Sterling Ink (currently appreciating the minimalist pages). I would love to have an all-in-one book (or I like the idea of that) but that is just not realistic when I need to do a braindump on something I want to throw away later. I am looking forward to listening to the rest and also watching your other videos.

      Glad you found it and I hope the rest of the video helped too. Very good point about brain dumps. Over the years I have wanted a designated space for brain dumps but then didn’t like them visible in my planner and since I don’t do dailies I would do them on the back pages. Such a helpful tool to get it all out of your head. Thanks for watching 💕

    I see the Moon in the same way. I put it in my calendar as same as you. It confuse me for a while why the printed calendars has it the opposite. I am working on a paper tracker for my health as well. Thank you for sharing your health planner, it helps me get ideas on what to put in my health planner. Not many people share their health planners. I use an Android system, I have the FitBit Sense 2 with my Google Pixel 8 Phone. There is EDA scan on it. I haven't fully tested it yet. Thank you for sharing from your fellow ADHD/Autistic viewer.

    If you're looking for ideas for the left size of the free page, you might be interested in lindseyscribbles, megan rhiannon or planyouronelife here on yt? I took heavy inspo from their horizontal layouts. I use a half horizontal layout in SI's N1size. The right side is my dashboard for priorities of the week, running task list and notes. For the running task area, I have a slim column for ✅s on the far left and I have initials for the days of the week on the far right. The tasks aren't always month specific and sometimes migrate week to week until completed or dropped (bujo-ish?). It's just a catchall to-do/jotting area. I've also seen this area referred to as the admin list. The very bottom of my page is for brief bullet points of notes, ideas. It works well enough¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ I saw the Weekbook Hybrid and think it will be a fantastic planning system for many people. If one kept a running admin list on the horizontal spread, it might make it super simple remembering to pencil in stuff on the vertical spread or look beyond that week and delegate through the month of verticals. That was the potential I saw when I watched Cansu's video. Brainstorm/outline on the horizontal, fine tune/time block on the vertical. It's a very unique layout and could really take off.

    Great video, I love this! I'm disabled and do not have access to a caretaker or government assistance. I often don't have enough energy to do more than work and basic self care. Some days, I'm too weak to even feed myself after work. Activism is very important to me, but the amount I find myself able to participate is extremely limited. It's nice to see activism advice that's more catered to people like myself.

Every single bit helps and a comment of encouragement is enough :) Energy waxes and wanes and what you are going through is incredibly hard. 💕 I even believe just voting for the parts on the ballot that you know well can be enough. Sometimes we don’t have the energy to do it all or the time to research it. There is nothing that says you can’t leave parts blank. We can all be happy with everyone participating in the their own way and what works best for them. Comments of support can mean the world to those who have more energy 💕💕💕

      On the one hand yes it’s baffling, but on the other systems of oppression will keep giving certain people in power the permission to keep doing what they want. For as much as they oppress others the opposite happens to them. That’s why we will do all we can to fight against it for real justice.

    The Sterling Ink washi material does NOT peel up easier, and yes, likely to tear if you try. But, the backing material is clear. I peel off the excess material from the whole sheet, and since it's clear, it makes it easier to figure out placement in my planners before laying down the stickers.

      Oh that’s a good tip! Using the clear background. The most I have used the washi paper is for laying down all of the dates in the undated planner and with tweezers and how square they are, they were definitely movable and I occasionally tore them, they mostly moved great with no residue (one of the biggest reasons I love SI stickers.     Oh my gosh. 85. I'm in central CA (6+ hours north of L.A.) 🥵and our highs have been over 100 (f) for over a week now? We at least have air conditioning. I keep forgetting that not everywhere has AC since I've never lived without it. 😆

      @@saiaplanning yeah that’s bad. Hope that lets up a bit for you. Can you cook and bake on your hot days with AC? We can’t since we don’t have it…yet. Lots of salads or heating things up in the microwave and all the blinds down. Almost all the places I have lived up here have not had it so I am used to either cooking in the morning, letting the fans run all night until about 6am and then we close up, and then sitting in a dark house. We finally open up windows between 8-10pm if it cools down below 72 at night. It’s worse when the wildfire smoke rolls in.

    I love that you always speak your truth. I live with bipolar disorder and talk about it a lot on my channel. We aren’t our illnesses, but they are a part of who we are. Also… huzzah for multiple dishwasher loads. It’s also one of my coping mechanisms when I just can’t with the dishes. ((Hugs)) from Arkansas.

Look forward to the political chat..would be interesting to hear your perspective on how to approach political engagement/activism as a neurodivergent without burning out. I was pushing through making phone calls to representatives but then fell off track and it is hard to get back to it

I agree and want to talk about how to do it in a way that can be "planned" (as much as one can) and also allow for ebbs and flows in energy.     HPV vaccine for me - I ended up fainting. Made it so for the next 10 years I had to be laying down for any blood draw and I had to wait extra time for all vaccines/shots. Though I got 1 or 2 other vaccines that day as well and apparently you aren't supposed to do that. Wish I knew back then.

    Yeah, I don't have any vulnerabilities, so I say no to all the vaccines I can. Because there's very little that could actually hurt me but I don't like adding things to my system that don't belong. 😅 That said, they talked me into the whooping cough one with my first pregnancy and it totally threw me for a loop and gave me the highest fever in my life. 🙄 Later I had actual shingles and man, that's a sucky sickness! Again, as I'm pretty healthy, I recovered quickly but that wasn't fun for sure.

      Wow, genetics dealt you a great hand in life immune-wise! That’s super lucky. I understand trying not to take things as I can be super sensitive to drugs, where just a little affects me, but I make an exception for vaccines because I don’t do it just for myself but my community. Health is such a variance from person to person and I also value a person’s right to choose what to do with their own body. We all age and become disabled at some point. I advocate for all those who have disabilities and are more vulnerable and to invite those who don’t to consider their needs and viewpoints and create communities that benefit more than we currently do. Part of that is sharing perspectives. Everyone deserves good health and healthcare, but not everyone receives it whether it’s genetics or the healthcare system.

My family history has a mixture of very long and tragically short lives and I live mine knowing that none of it is a given. Indeed, we can do all the things and at the end it's still a toss of the die (or Providence). I'm just so grateful for all you share and for your perspective. Didn't mean to be disrespectful, I'm more in awe of your perseverance and strength than anything. ❤️ ETA: My mental health is a totally different story though. 😅

      @@missfl0werstar thank you! And yes, having family members who didn’t live as long is a huge motivator to living life to its fullest. I lost my father to depression and know how it runs in families and it’s a huge part of wellness too. It’s a huge part of how you deal with everyday life and knowing what is best for you and your body. To be honest I get really touchy when it comes to vaccines due to autism misinformation so my spidey-senses were up but also 100% respect people’s body autonomy. You weren’t disrespectful and I wanted to bring another perspective to those who read the comments and may feel a bit disheartened due to their own roll of the dice in genetics. This space is welcoming to all who have kind hearts, like yourself. We need all the allyship we can get to promote better for all and your energy and general wellness can definitely help! Hugs 💕✨

I'm seriously doubting there's any one right way of taking care of one's health. We all try our best and respect and grace are the only way to go about it. I just answered your question about worst shots without realizing it was the first comment so ooops 😅, I didn't mean it as an argument or anything. But it's interesting that regardless of general health, shots can knock you out anyway. Which is why I'm super grateful for everyone who does it for the community, I'm admittedly not that brave.     Just did a similar thing to a B6 PaperTess designs notebook: i created a combination of the Sterling Ink dailies: blank grid pages in the back and Paper Tess weekly set up. Not sure if i'll do the same for 2025, but I like this experience

    I also don't do well in the heat. These 100+ degree days have been brutal. Hello Summer I guess. 😆 I was thinking about the blank space the sticky note would cause, and when you're done with the list, you can leave (or put back) the sticky note to keep it looking full. I get different entertainment from different types of videos. I'd love to continue to see both kinds!

    Keep doing them! I love seeing ppl set up their planners. Perhaps you could edit the video to be 10-20min because the way the yt algorithm works, shorter videos just do better. You could also include time lapses if you want to show stuff, but don’t need to be talking during it. I’ve also seen people record what they do & then do a voice over after editing since it’s easier to film & edit that way. But ofc do whatever brings you the most joy! Hope to see more videos from you soon :)

      Thanks for the suggestions and I have tried a lot of those in the past. It’s takes me more time to edit sped up or voice overs since my template is set for a one-take and I do three edit points and I’m done, but you do have my mind thinking about what’s another way… hmmm 🤔. Mine are more co-working (especially for ND folks) which I think maybe a title change could help since I have gotten feedback before that they like them more real time. My question is doing them at all or not. This last one though has done better than previous ones, but I also only do it for consistency not the algorithm. I love watching others set up their own too and it just feels like a wonderful chat session to catch up with someone. Thanks so much for bringing up some options. 💕

    My surgery went really well. I’m feeling much better but getting in and out of bed is rooough!! The roll technique just does not work for me so I’m relying on partner to get me up. I just woke him up. It’s 2am. Poor thing. Hopefully this doesn’t last too long. Shout out to the partners and carers 🙌🏻

      Also honored to be part of healing time. Friday will be one year since I had mine and I am so so happy and it took about three months to feel pretty good and maybe five to six months to feel completely recovered.

    I honestly can't remember if you've mentioned it before (thank you brain) but did you end up using this planner at all? I'm trying to find one to buy to try for the last half of the year. I've looked in a couple places but most are either sold out or way too expensive for a dated planner.

      I ended up giving it to my husband and he's using it now. I know some people are recreating the layout in notebooks to try it out. I know it came in a A5 and B6 so you could use a notebook and try the week on two spreads there.

    Oof this was right on time, yesterday was brutal for me. I have Psoriatic Arthritis and axial spondylitis (big words for arthritis that mostly affects my spine. I also have chronic anemia, adhd and a host of "supporting cast" as I call my comorbids 😂 Wishing you better days soon.

    Yep, you are autistic. Was diagnosed with ADHD and took a decade to finally realize I was also autistic and was diagnosed with that. It all runs in families and the comorbidities hang together. My favorite doc question is 'what is your pain level?'. For a healthy person, I'm at about a 9-10. For me, it's another day that ends in y, so a 4-5.

    Today I when I got up and realized my mind and body said a big NOPE to life commitments. Very low energy and had to rebalance my expectations. Focused on a grocery list, emptying the dishwasher and filling it again, school pickup, homework, leftovers and rest.

    52:49 i love the A5 size, but i don't like to carry it with me because if the weight. If i would make my own A5 planner, it would need go ne then 3 months only or half year only because of the weight. I used the pocket filofax/moterm for 5 years, and i got very tired from small pages (but not from the small cover planner), so i made myself bigger pages in the pocket moterm with smaller rings, and i use it now I could not use several planners at once, it gives me anxiety that i forgot something important in the other one

      Yes, it would be nice to have some half or quarter year options. I am playing around with some pockets and also an A6 to see how it feels. Glad you found something that works for you and yes, I do get anxious something is in one planner and not the other. I am seeing if I can have one planner with a health planner next year knowing that the appointments in the health planner are more recorded for after the fact than relying on it to make an appointment. I just preordered one today from Twine and Paper that is a thinner B6 hybrid that I am hoping will be one one and only. Thanks so much for sharing 💕

    I literally cobbled together a system with free printable pages I found online like a weekly and monthly calendar, and a little habit tracker too! Its all in a binder so I can add pages as I need, take out what isnt working or rearrange things. I LOVE your system ideas as a fellow ADHDer and may try out a few in my binder. Great video!     I am also auADHD. I constantly bounce between my phone planner app, my work paper planner and my work online calendar. I need to use the B6 paper to really keep everything organized. I'm not good with not having enough room to write comfortably. I know you are also dealing with chronic illnesses. I don't know if you have mentioned a diagnosis, but I would recommend looking up Ehlers Danlos (EDS). I can tell just by looking at your hands you may be hypermobile and extra flexy. Autism, ADHD, EDS and others are co-morbidities and hang out in the same neighborhood.

      Yes, having enough room on the page is so important. I might and I do know those with EDS. Maybe in my hands but I am not very flexible elsewhere. Maybe in my back. I know they are very common between the two. I am mainly dealing with Crohn's, PCOS, lots of allergies and I had a hysterectomy last year due to uterine cancer. You got me thinking...
