    The book I really liked reading was the one by Patankar. (Used this to understand basic concepts along with FVM by Versteeg for more "modern stuff"). It's definitely one of the best textbooks I have read, which is surprising because it was written in around 1980.

    There are a few practical books about FEA and yet not a single practical book about CFD so far. Only theoretical background. Book with tips for CFD simulations would be very useful.

    Principles of Computational Fluid Dynamics by Wesseling is a great book for the mathematically inclined reader interested in FVM, alongside Ferziger and Peric it's my favorite!

    Wow!! Good Introduction!! I have read "Ferziger & Peric - Computational Methods for Fluid Dynamics" several times for my dissertaion in master degree course. I wanna recommend this book for foundation course in CFD paper.

    I am referring" Fluid Dynamics by Landau and Lifshitz" and it's a bit hard to digest, since there are hardly no diagrams. Thanks for the recommendation!

    The Pope books is a good refence once you have an idea of turbulence but it wont be my go to for learning turbulence. I think 'Turbulence: An Introduction for Scientists and Engineers' by Peter Davison is much better. 'A First Course in Turbulence' by Tennekes is also a solid reference. I also like all the Textbooks from David Wilcox but are hard to get.

    Thanks Jousef nice and informative video! Can you make a video on which concepts of mathematics we should have a deep understanding about. We have learnt lot of mathematics through the years but due to lack of application it's difficult to recollect all!

      Good point Sameer! I have a rough overview of topics in my head and planned to release some videos about this topic (hopefully) soon :) Implementation wise I will most likely use Python.

    Would be nice before the turbulence analysis course to introduce flow (vector) field analysis just to give to all new comers (as well as to all beginners) a hint (that would very solid one by the way) before they dive into the full turbulence course. If I may, I would suggest to make 2 parts of course.

    • @JousefM
      @JousefM  4 года назад

      Absolutely Ivan! What vector analysis topics did you have in mind in particular? Like what the gradient and divergence etc. does? :)

    • @ivanvasiliev5946
      @ivanvasiliev5946 4 года назад

      @@JousefMExactly. Gradient as well divergence, stream function. I believe, if you could give them a hint what's douplet flow and vortices as well, a quick word about potential flow theory would add up to the full picture of turbulence nicely.

    Hello Jousef, can you understand all the mathemetical equations in John Anderson? For me I find Mathemetics in John Anderson as heavy

    • @JousefM
      @JousefM  4 года назад +5

      Hey Vignesh! Definitely not but if I don’t get something (no matter which book) I spend some time to see where the equation comes from and if I can derive it. There’s no shame in not knowing most of the stuff.

      I am currently learning about it on Udacity. There are plenty of resources about ML which makes it also a pain in the ass to find something that fits your learning schedule. If you want I can present a book that is absolutely perfect for beginners! It’s from Aurelien Geron and is the absolute best you can get if you want everything in one single book!

    Hello Joseph, what do you think about verteseg and malasekra book ? Is it too heavy for a beginner ?

    • @JousefM
      @JousefM  4 года назад +4

      This is a good one for sure, I like it! If you’re comfortable with classical notation in CFD and advanced mathematics I guess you should be fine. It is not too advanced in my opinion but it really depends on what your level is. If you think about getting it, make sure to find a used version somewhere. My book from Pope is also used and I got it cheaper that way.
