Like many of you, I watched the Mario Movie trailer last week. The opening sequence is more action packed and beautiful looking than I expected it to be. Bowser demolishing the castle seems a little overpowered, but it was quite impressive and looked like it would make a fun diorama.

I like how "carefully drilled a hole for the wires" was done by "holding a rotary tool in one hand while the base jumps around madly on the workbench".

Perfect. That effect looks more real than a lot of CGI fire I see in live-action movies.
The OSL technique makes that filament-lit fire seem that much brighter! Holy mackrel.
