i think when he played roul he had too much vibrato in his voice ramin is better when he sings the high and long notes smoothly i feel it has more emotion. thats why i loved him as the phantom. though god i do love how he looks as roul
ramin is amazing at both parts, but I think He is a better phantom by miles. his voice is so powerful And overflowing with emotion especially with the high notes when he was the phantom. with him being Raoul, He was a little bit too vibrato for me And a little off key near the end. when He sings as the phantom, I melt.

@@xxKakarot oh don’t get me wrong I think he’s proud of it definitely, he just doesn’t like to watch himself I don’t think. He said in an interview it’s things to do with his own analytical brain and what he’d do better etc. I still think overall he’s very proud though, as he should be.

Guyyyss Raoul isn't that bad. He was only trying to protect Christine and everyone in the opera house. He never really learned that Erik wasn't a monster, because the only times that they saw each other, Erik was acting like a madman...I can't blame Raoul
I've never hated Raoul (but then again Hadley was my first and I love him) but even though ramin is PERFECT and he does an amazing job as Raoul I just don't think the part has enough to really show off the power and passion in his voice so for that reason I prefer him as the phantom (or Eric which ever you prefer).

Thank God he changed to Phantom! I wouldn't like him nearly as much if he stayed as Raoul. And he IS the perfect Phantom; it would be a waste of talent if he continued as Raoul!
@Elizabeth111Music Well, considering that LND has now closed in London, and he's playing the Phantom for the 25th Anniversary concerts... he kind of already is, although he has stated that the 25th anniversary will be his last time as Phantom, especially with John Owen Jones contracted as the Phantom through the next 6 months or so.
Ramin's voice is too...rough? He doesn't have that pretty boy voice or image that is Raoul's entire character, so I like him better as Phantom. The one plus side to him playing Raoul is that he gets the girl ;)

I think he’s perfect, none of that hammy acting that we see from so many Raouls. Also generally I prefer a classical voice for Phantom.
