Yeah, my preference unless he seriously tunes the 351 and shocks the heck out of everyone at the lights when they look at the alloy head badging on the side and he blips the throttle.
I owned one of these, handed down to me after my dad died in the early 90's. Same colour even. My main memory of it was how comfortable it was. It was like driving along while sitting on your couch. The sound proofing was also great. Mine had something stuck under the bonnet as well, not sure what that was but I suppose it was also some kind of sound proofing. You'd be sitting at the lights and wondering if the motor was still running, it was that quiet. The 250 was plenty powerful for cruising to work on the freeway at 100k's and was smooth and quiet.
I’m looking forward to a run out in it soon. Make sure you keep an eye out for the video. Better still subscribe and thanks for the comment. Those seats sure look comfy.
Hi guys There’s a simple fix for door handle problem… The pivot on the back of the handle is a problem Cure is to put a self drilling screw through the pivot and cured for life … I have an xd panel van with 1.28 million kilometres on it so most problems I have a cure for !!! Love your XE … I had one when new !!!
is the meterial grey fabric. if so bridge upholstery has some in murray bridge. ive also got 4 nos xe fairmont hub caps with the chrome out side trims.
it’s a kind of a light blue tbh Costa. Think he’s sticking with the Steelers and getting them painted back to factory. Will try Bridge Upholstery though. Thanks
Check Global Trim before he wrecks that seat There's always a way to find the correct trim, was a common trim in the XE Another option is to try different trimmers to see what old stock they have, it's surprising what is laying around
Please just paint it and leave the motor as is. It's a classic beauty.

Totally agree leave it as it is, just cruise and enjoy.
Lovely car mate. I remember driving cabs, the XD/E/F were the go to for a reliable cab. 400,000 k's plus and they still drove well.
They certainly seem a big comfy motor for a drunken lift home in.

You can tell by my name i love this era of Falcon, Best car i ever had was my XF.
Love this car, one of my favourites of all on your excellent channel. Fingers crossed for the quest for a single seat or some fabric!
Bar lack of rust, it’s got all the right qualities to make it into the GTA fleet.
@@davesclassicgaragetours I feel seen 🫣
this video could have been done in 5 min
They all could. But where’s the fun in that
watch what you posted again & hopefully you'll see my point.@@davesclassicgaragetours
leave it as factory orgional the motor
He wants the power. He’s keeping the six for anyone who wants it should he ever sell it though.
Looking very nice. Yeah go with the Fairmont upgrade touches and the 351 Cleveland conversion.
Leo’s sticking with the GL.
An upgrade to Fairmont not only destroys the originality, it’s way too hard as he points out in the video
On camera that left guard colour is way off, however, the front valence looks spot on. I’m a purist so would restore it back to original. Nice car!
I suspect the paint came out of the same gun for both so must be the lighting

That’s got to be up there with the highest mileage of all.
I was given a mint condition XE S pack in the mid-2000's but traded it for an MX-6 Turbo as it used more fuel than a 747.😢
Bloody good car the MX-6. I reckon it’d have been more fun to than the Falcon
