Good morning Mrs & Mrs T. In Hertfordshire it's raining and very windy and I was stuck doing housework all by myself. While hovering I saw my mobile light up. So tea break time as I developed my STD mode, sod the dusting, feet up as I relaxed eating your vid. I gotta say if my late wife Sam got near that waterfall, we'd still be there the following day! How she loved the water. My old house had a garage with the gas boiler inside. So even in winter it was warm inside. The dubbing trick on leather is smother it in, especially along the stitching lines, then leave it until the following day. Then using a clean buffing pad clean the excess off. Then finally the trusty microfiber cloth and job done. We used that dubbing was on all things leather for riding. And for cleaning, simple baby wipes followed by clean damp microfiber cloths to clean before applying more dubbing. My old 1987 throw over saddle bags really have seen better days but the leather remains supple. By the way you last vid around Thailand, I just know my wife would have been upset over the removal of those Buda heads. Glad you both got home safe n sound. See you guys in the next one 👃😊...
Thanks as a,ways Les. Was it you that suggested the Dubbin to me? It does seem to do the job. Glad we gave you a break from the dusting and hoovering. It’s so nice that you still have fond memories of your late wife. Hope you get some better bike weather soon. One of those nice December sunny days 👌🙏
@@Teacher-T-Thailand I'm wishing my life away and prying for spring 2025 as my arthritis is giving it large again, and for good weather in June. Back to St. Michaels Mount in Cornwall for my eldest grandsons wedding. And I'm going on my bike with my other grandson who wants me to stop singing Willy Nelson's song On The Road Again and just stick to playing Trance music. A trip to Lands End is on the cards as well 🤞🤗...
@@Teacher-T-ThailandMy apologies, yes it was me that advised using shoe wax dubbing. Something I was told about by older bikers while I was just 14 and wishing I was 16 if only to ride 🤷🫶...
A very pleasant journey and nicely filmed and narrated. The bike looks to be a competent tourer! I recently purchased a SM and have found your channel to be very helpful!
The green and black colorway is one of my favorites, and the Trip Machine bags are a handsome addition . You shouldn’t worry about the belt, I've had two Victory motorcycles with belts. Between the two I had put over 100,000 miles on them. If you are that worried, carry a spare belt. I just communicated with the belt kit developer two weeks back, he's a good chap.
You are correct. Not much to worry about them. I’ve recently ridden a Vulcan 900 with 80,000 km on the original belt. And yes Robert is a decent fellow 👌🙏
Top man Mr.T nice to see someone using a bike and not just polishing it for the weekend. Glad Mrs.T enjoyed the trip as well and the seats got a good workout. I’m impressed with the belt drive, I’ve always been a bit sceptical about those. You certainly put it through its paces. I, like you, search for the slower B roads, but they’re a bit rare in the south east of the UK. Fantastic scenery and a great video “again” 👍😎
Many thanks. I’ve heard it’s a bit windy there today. Yes the belt dive has proven itself a worthy upgrade. Many sold world wide. Thanks to my bike 😂 All the best 🙏
Well Mr T , that seemed to be a total succuss and not a word about the shocks so I am guessing problem solved , seats look amazing and as I said before ,,any good quality leather wax always works a treat . So enjoyable watching both of you enjoying your long road trip together and the food the scenery and of curse the Meteor .

Yet another great vlogg Teacher T. Mrs T has a fantastic smile! After seeing the young girls riding a scooter, what happens if they crash into you? How does the insurance work in Thailand? 🤔
Thank you. Yes sadly the insurance side is a major problem. Luckily in Thailand it’s the vehicle that’s insured, not the person. But only pays out 3rd party. But not if illegally ridden like this. If serious, people have been know to lie and say it’s their fault to claim on their fully comprehensive insurance. 🙏

Seeing how capable the SM with a few choice upgrades over time is great to see. Will take one for a spin before I decide on my next purchase. Half the price at least of a Triumph SM 1200. If its enough, its enough
You are absolutely right. Sadly the bike does need tweaking, but because the bike is great value for money, you have some movement to buy the upgrades, compared to other brands at least twice the price. I am at last happy with mine now. 👌🙏
The road from the "waterfall" past Phitsanalok is very popular for motorcycle riders up to the mountain with the morning clouds which is also worth a visit. Fresh tamarins grow profusely in this area back down to Phetchabun.
It’s certainly a lovely area and worth a revisit. Just a shame the journey was cut short. We did plan a mountain visit with early morning clouds. Next time 😂👌🙏
Installing the Expedition Bags today. Figured I'd share some of what you saved me with your Trip Machine code. It's not a whole lot, but hopefully helps.
Thank you so much. That is so so kind of you. I hope you get some decent weather soon to try out those new Expedition bags of yours. A new product is on its way to me to review with a very big discount code attached. Stay tuned 👌🙏
You're welcome. I have to say, the bags seem very well made. And Lord have mercy, the packaging...it took me longer to unwrap the supports than it did to install them. Now just trying to find a torque spec for that upper shock bolt.
Well, according to one of your other kids, im looking at 50NMs, which in my neck of the woods translates into around 37ft lbs. I'll go with that. Thanks again for putting out informative videos on the 650SM.

@Teacher-T-Thailand Thanks again. I ended up going with 35ft-lbs (or roughly 47 and a half NM). Hoping for a test ride tomorrow, supposed to be the last relatively warm day for a while.
Tom Yum curry was a favourite of mine at a very old Chinese takeaway in Tonbridge. They had to close tho because the owner lost it in a card game! Imagine coming home from a night out and having to explain that to the Mrs.☺🙄 Having watched your channel I think the driving in Thailand is quite good for the amount of people on the roads. The 2 kids on the scooter showed road sense as well. Probably to them it's just a step up from a bicycle. They weren't hooning around like the yobs we have here in the UK. Lastly I get the impression that motorcycling isn't Mrs T's first choice of travel but taxe it in her stride to enjoy it with you.😎
Illegal to gamble in Thailand. On any scale. For that very reason. Thais do grow up on motorcycles from a very early age. But yes, not Mrs T,s first choice. She is also a little reluctant to be on camera, but this time she did very well. The food helped 😂👌🙏
I wouldn’t recommend the gloves. They were a Christmas gift last year. Royal Enfield ones. The knuckle pads fell off in the first week, and I’ve now got holes appearing at the fingertips. New gloves required soon 😂👌🙏
I am miles behind with my video watching, so you might not see this comment. I loved the whole trip and this episode, in particular. It's a pity that you had to cut it short. When I was young, we always used dubbin on our football boots and my brother used to use it on his leather motorcycle jacket, it is brilliant stuff but you would need several applications to stop that water getting through the stitching.
Thank very much. We really enjoyed the tour, and the making of the videos. Sadly it’s had very little traction on RUclips, probably because it’s a slightly different content aspect of the channel. It I hate to be put in a box. So as well as tutorials and reviews, I also want to do travel vlogs. There will be more to come. Thanks for watching 👌🙏
Instead of Dubbin I would use Nikwax. It's a very similar product only it's designed to be used to waterproof outdoor gear like jackets, boots and tents. When applying a wax product, it's always best to use your bare hands as the heat in your hands helps to melt the wax/Dubbin. We used Dubbin in the army on our boots and it was them that recommended we use our hands as opposed to a cloth. Hope this helps.........
