    Greetings Teacher T. How I chucked to myself when you emptied your boot of water. Must confess mine had more going to Falmouth... But that's a bikers life. Great drone footage and that scenery wow! A good choice of music. I often listen to Trance music while cruising any distance. I never watch the clock, I just enjoy the ride even when stuck in traffic. Thanks for sharing this and for honouring the fallen. I often light a candle for my old mates who have moved over 🤘. Safe cruising to you and Mrs T and see you in the next one 👍😊...

    Lovely video of a worthy undertaking, Mr T. I'm sure we've all had a few close calls over there, and that memorial service brings it home.
    My goodness, I can't believe how much Mae Hong Son has changed! I was last there around '87 - I flew in from Chiang Mai on an old twin prop (the Loop hadn't been built). It was a dusty little border town full of Karen on the run (some with a price on their head) - many shaved their heads to hide out in the wats. There was a bit of a frisson about the place, with lots of illegal logging and gemstone smuggling going on. I stayed on the lakeside close to that "walking street", though there was no entertainment back then - at the time, I think farang were seen as a bit of a nuisance.

      @Teacher-T-Thailand  2 месяца назад +1

      Interesting story. The airport is still there. 20 mi utes from CM on a twin prop still. But yes, the town is certainly tourist orientated now. Thai and farrang. 🙏

    Rode this route in January 24 never rained once i did it over six days taking my time stopping at many attractions along the way, best ride I have ever done, the bike I rented was very old breakes were terrible at one point the back brake stopped work Triumph T100. In the UK i ride a Triumph bobber 1200 great bike would love to ride the Mae Hong Son route on my bike.
    Looks like a tough ride in the rain.

      It’s a love,y ride. But like you say, not so good in the rain. More suited to bigger bikes, where you can use the engine as braking. Ideal for your bobber 😂🙏

    Thanks for sharing! I did the loop by car in March 2013 and January 2020. Since I am born and still live by the fjords and mountains of western Norway, I am used to lots of steep curvy roads and stunning vistas. But still the loop exites me and I hope to drive there with a motorbike when I retire.

    That Triumph T120 is as smooth as glass and the handling is amazing. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised how nice it was on a test ride. but it is a bit dear.

    Great stuff Teacher T! Thank you for sharing this stunning ride. What a great way to honour and remember our fallen comrades as you take us through this beautiful country 🙏 The Super Meteor is in its element. I might fly over and hire a Super Meteor and join you on another years ride?

      I don’t think any shops have Meteor 650s for rent sadly. But yes the bike coped very well. Big Bike tours Chiang Mai are the people to speak to for renting big bikes for the event. You are welcome 🙏

    I'm a "low down bum" as well, severely restricts the bikes I can ride. I have a Super Meteor 650, same colour, can't get my feet fully flat to the ground, looking at a rear suspension change like in your other vid. What a beautiful ride, thank you for sharing.

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand

      Thanks. Yep, than 20mm lower makes such a difference. And doesn’t affect the handling. 🙏

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand

      @ yes. I just reverse the rear wheel onto a 200mm wooden wedge. Then bike is normal height and can use centre stand 🙏

    Thanks a lot, your channel is great! I do have a question, did you encounter hairpin bends with the Super Meteor, can it handle them? Although I rode the Super Meteor, I did not have any hairpin bends near and excercising small circles is not the same. It seems, these bends are much easier with the Shotgun, what is your experience? greetings from Germany

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  8 часов назад

      Many thanks. It can handle them, but with the Shotgun’s steeper rake it is even more manoeuvrable. The price you pay is leaning over further to reach the handle bars, which tires the arms in time. But of course handle bars can be changed. 🙏 Shotgun 650 Vs Super Meteor 650 by a Meteor 650 owner

    Hello, my friend! Tell us about your experience with the belt drive kit. Was it worth it? Did you lose any power or encounter any other issues? I'm considering using it on mine, but I'm a bit hesitant. Congratulations on your work!

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  2 месяца назад +1

      Put it this way. I wouldn’t want to go back to chain again 😂 I did 7,000 km on the Chain on my Meteor 650. And now 8,000 on the belt. It’s so smooth between gear changes. It’s a very worthy upgrade, but not all belt kits are the same quality. Hence some get bad reviews. You get what you pay for 🙏

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand

      So many back packers ride this circuit on poorly maintained rented scooters. No helmets, wearing T shirts and shorts. It’s scary to see. And you can’t even engine brake on a scooter. And yes some skill and experience ideally needed if you want to avoid hospital.
