The 45 deg lock out of the front steering is a safety feature so you don't turn the front tires 90 deg when you're flying down the road. I'm pretty sure you'll go flying if it went 90 deg
Micah, I love your contribution to the understanding of the inner of EV world (bike, cars…). My bike charger always charge 100 %, like most of them (except Satiator and... ). No programmed cutoff. The other day, I saw a charger controller, but did not copy the information. And I cannot find it anymore. The thing worked very simple. You plug the charger controller in the wall (110 or 220 V). You plug the charger in the controller which also read the battery voltage. You set the controller to stop the charger when a certain voltage is reached (the battery beeing charged at only 80 % or so). Keeping long life for the battery. Where can I find this charger controller and/or how to build this DIY ? Serge
Yeah, I believe when you said that you’re very impressed with the built quality, I have the NineBot MiniPro by Segway which is Xiaomi too, I was very impressed with EVERYTHING, from the box, instructions, products itself too, felt like I was buying something premium. Battery life was pretty awesome for such a small pack. Like or not, these Chinese Giant Tech companies are actually producing some great stuff, not just cheap eBay stuff.
I tried that one when I got this scooter, but the lower top speed and the fact that it was taking me longer to learn to ride it made me choose this scooter. But it was a fun little thing!
from some other reviews on youtube there's a cruise control mode you enable via the app. it lets you keep the scooter going after about 5 seconds of throttle without having to hold it down the entire time.
It's a nice scooter. See them everywhere. People like it, which is good for all of us who enjoy cleaner air from the use of electric vehicles, over the other dirty types of transportation.
My little e-bike also goes about 18 mph. It is a geared hub motor. I think it might b limited by the controller. It's a lot of fun though. It has the fat tires and it will climb a 5 mile hill 2000 ft elevation gain with a little bit of battery to spare. Florida and Tel Aviv. Israel seems quite beautiful!! Thank u!!
Yes! So stoked you did this. Same model I've been researching and saw that spin.pm uses this model for their public "rentable" bikes and scooters comlany, dispersed through cities and campuses. Glad you approve, and can't wait to get one.
All the thoughts here are my opinion and would love to know yours. The best way to explore a city is by walking or biking. By walking, you cannot cover much. By biking, you cannot take it everywhere. You could, but it is a hassle. Scooters fit in exactly between these two and mitigates these disadvantages. This to me is the dream scooter: 1. Should be packable in a checkin luggage. 2. If I want to take it in a train, I should be able to fold and trolley it. I could do that same when I want to checkout a restaurant too. 3. I would like to see a scooter with a nice e-ink display. e-ink displays are very clear in daylight and I dont think they consume a lot of power. 4. A holder stand for a phone that would not obstruct the e-ink display. 5. Have a swappable battery. I dont think this is a good idea though, but could technically give double the range.
Thanks for the video 😊😊 It's nice that the scooter does not go faster than 25k. In Norway you have to register it as a moped if it goes faster than 25k.
The battery cells are not spot welded well, vibration makes loose connections and battery enters protection. I always have to check bolts getting loose and the stem making noises. Don't get it wet!
Id love to see an in-depth review, what sort of battery pack does it have, what are the quality of the cells, would an upgrade on cells improve the hill climbing ability. Also the is a hack to get more power out of the scooter that you can perform with an Android app. That would be a fun extra. Great work though, keep it up.
Great videos guys!! Tiny Tip! When editting Make sure you create your project with the same frame rate as you film! Then you wont get that jerkiness! Especially noticable when the drone footage! Thanks again :)
I have two electric skate boards . Enjoy them alot ,was thinking of building a custom electric bike.. problem is I don't know what I need for my build.. the scooter looked cool ! Thank you...
Thats pretty cool. Not sure id pay $500 for it though. I built my ebike completely for less than that. And like you said it goes nearly twice as fast. Its nice to see something different though.
How about using it in life? Like, if you go to the supermarket, is it comfortable to carry inside? Perhaps over the shoulder? if not, it is possible to lock up in an easy way?
Quick question.. Can i bring this when im travelling on my check in luggage at the airport? Any of you guys had the expirience of bringing it with you when travelling by plane?im concern about the battery. Thanks for the response
subscribed your channel after watching "How to choose battery ?" and " lego building guide " and also "building battery packs video guide" Thannks mann.....pretty much informative and little bit fun tooo....
There are sellers on eBay selling Xiaomi M365 scooters that are made by the same factories that made the original scooters. .These scooters come without the Xiaomi App and logo. Is the app worth having? The price difference is about US $100. Hopefully you will see this comment and respond. Thanks.
How would you rate this vs an electric longboard? I live in Bergen, and the city pedestrian and bicycle roads aren't very long and/or smooth. There are a lot of random bumps and stuff on the road. Would the Xiaomi M365 be better than a high-end electric longboard, considering the price as well?
I think why scooters are better than than ebikes is because they cost 80% less. I like the price of this scooter. I currently ride a Yamaha XMAX 300 as my main commute vehicle, but this would be good for me to go to relief points for my job. I want an electric bicycle or e scooter, but with the cost I can purchase a gasoline powered moped or 50cc scooter.
Good review, been considering electric scooter but seem a bit pricy vs their usability. Any plans on making a standard scooter conversion/build to electric?
Hello Micah ! Thanks again for all you do! Btw ... have you turned your thoughts toward creating an E bike or EV charger that will run off a J1772 connector like those on car charging stations?
The first thing I would do is flip the hand brake to the right side. The rear brake is on the right on a bicycle anyways. This allows you to carry things. 2 minute job.
Looks like a great bike path, although I noticed you ride in the wrong lane a lot! How 'bout a lesson on your camera drone? I'm impressed by your great aerial photos. Who flew the drone and aimed the camera while you two rode on the path? The drone may not be an e-bike, but it's probably electric powered.
Do you have any experience with electric outboard motors for boating. Would it be possible to build a water sealed and massive battery for a boat motor?
Nice video and I would like more videos about everything of electric scooter Xiaomi MI M365. I have bought one and I am interested in knowing more about it. Thank you and good ride.
And it only has a maximum weight limit of 100 k though exactly what happens to it if someone heavier tries to ride it is a mystery as I've not seen anyone over the weight limit ride one yet. Also the early one's apparently used to burn out the controllers when using regen, though I suspect they have fixed this issue with the latest model, shame they didn't offer a fix to those who already own the scooter even if it was for half price.
I downloaded an app and I removed the firmware and changed it to Custom Firmware Speed went up to 30km/h and no e-break regeneration. if you want more info contact me and make a video about it.
There’s not much emphasis on ergonomics with any of these two wheelers. I had RS injuries from computers in the 90’s, stopped doing keyboard stuff. The injuries came back with ebikes, which are fast and transmit more energy. I played around with options to lessen the stresses, but none work. Took apart one of my 3 ebikes last week, and took the bike parts to the non-profit bike Coop. Don’t want the liability of selling a bike I built. Can’t make bikes work anymore, but I think they could do a lot better designs. If it’s painful to ride, the stresses are going to build up. Good luck finding smooth surfaces to ride on.
Hello Micah, I ordered a set a battery kit and a few other supplies from vruzend Around late april, I received an email confirming the order was being processed, but have not heard anything since then. Do you know when I could expect an update? Thanks! and love the channel
Hey, yea we had a few warnings on the page and during checkout that the kits were on backorder. We expect to begin shipping in about a week, we are just waiting to receive the new kits after they passed through customs.
Hi Mike, there this whole new prospect of converting an old car alternator to an ebike motor. So far chaps who've done conversions with alternators have tried a 1500 w sensorless bldc controller. What sort of battery pack would an alternator rated for say 40 A/h. Any thoughts on how you would optimize such a system. I'm contemplating on building one but I'm worried I would need a large battery pack.
I got a xiaomi M365 but it’s not foldable, it is that fake? Or is different model? I searched but I don’t find anything about unfolding xiaomi M365. All are foldable.
Great video ! i have a question! have you heard of seen about M365 Xiaomi fake models ? i purchase one a couple of weeks ago and i did some research and it seems that i have a fake model. In all the models i have seen on RUclips they all look like mine the differences are ( the welding on the column mine is welded the ones i have seen its smooth, the wires that suppose to be gray are black i didn't buy the white scooter, the tail light... lights differently, no logo on the platform at the front like the other ones have, when we fold the scooter the tensioner rod is not black its like chrome color or something. thanks
I have a question. The axle on my front hub motor has some space and play sitting in the forks. How can I make it more snug so I don"t have to worry about the forks breaking (My front hub motor is 48v 1500w and will be getting overvolted)
Not being able to turn sharply is a safety feature. It's a good thing!
Yes my steering stop broke I replaced it
The 45 deg lock out of the front steering is a safety feature so you don't turn the front tires 90 deg when you're flying down the road. I'm pretty sure you'll go flying if it went 90 deg
You wouldn't just, stop?
@@locuscades1906 lol that's not how momentum, inertia or physics in general works.
@@varunnarain50 lmfao. I realize how I said this now. I honestly dont even know what I was trying to say.

One of the better reviews. Pretty much answers all basic questions.
All the thoughts here are my opinion and would love to know yours.

45deg turns isn't "odd". It's a safety feature. Allowing you to turn 90deg @ 25kph will set you flying towards the asphalt.

love your videos I am buying the book as soon as I get to my new house in NY
Glad you both enjoyed the scooter.
Nice review, thanks. Have you ever tried the cycleboard carving scooter? It seems to be more funny. Waiting for your next review!
And Still...the most popular electric scooter on the planet !.
That's a great electric scooter! I really like that it looks professional, not like a childs toy.
If only I saw this before buying a new bike for my brother to convert. This would have served his purposes much better than a full ebike
I enjoyed your review. Thanks for providing the pros and cons of the scooter. Yvonne
Love the videos Micah. I'm going to be building a DIY e bike this summer, and I'm definitely using your video guides for help
Can we make it ourselves...battery size?? components??
Always appreciate the solid reviews
Awesome video. Can you carry it all the way? I mean, 12 kgs is too heavy.
i'm happy to see you on the XIAOMI M365 and hope to see some DIY vidéos for this scooter
Good review - many thanks. I think it is still one of the best looking e-scooters around.
How about using it in life? Like, if you go to the supermarket, is it comfortable to carry inside? Perhaps over the shoulder? if not, it is possible to lock up in an easy way?
I leave my scooter in the supermarket in full view of the checkouts

They have the Bird scooters in Austin as well.

Great detailed review. Hoping for more electric scooter reviews.
With custom firmware you can go 32/33+ kmh at least in the videos I’ve seen
new here, vids are awesome, learning lots. Need the books!

There's an app to increase the max speed by changing the firmware, although some scooters with an older battery might break
That's actually a nice scooter! Should see what it would take to get a higher top speed.

Great work as always Micah!
Can you make an incognito bottle battery?
Great video love how you used a drone to get your birds eye view video awesome.
The electric scooter is really cool! I wanna build an electric bike really bad
Hey Ebike! I was wondering if u can make suggestions on how to take care of the bike for its longevity?
Scooter looks nice.I wonder what brand of 18650 they used.
Hello Micah ! Thanks again for all you do!

I have been looking at these. They look great
The first thing I would do is flip the hand brake to the right side. The rear brake is on the right on a bicycle anyways. This allows you to carry things. 2 minute job.
left brake is the norm for rear brakes on bikes in most other parts of the world
If there was a larger range model, maybe a bit thicker, I would buy it
More Batteries!!Yea!!!
njfulwider5 what about adding a backpack battery for more POWAAAAAAAHHH hahaaaa ohhh yeaaahhh
😊😊👍👍You Got It!!!More Battery Packs, More Batteries More Power!!!!!👍👍😊😊
Can u ride in heavy Irish rain?

Review was good. There's is an e-scooter manufacturer in Florida that uses the wider tires, I wonder how those would fair on cobble.
Do you have any experience with electric outboard motors for boating. Would it be possible to build a water sealed and massive battery for a boat motor?
is it worth it to install a capacitor bank on the ebike to help the battery whit the load ?
so - the usual bricked bike path isn't a problem for the scooter?
Nice video and I would like more videos about everything of electric scooter Xiaomi MI M365. I have bought one and I am interested in knowing more about it. Thank you and good ride.
Just a fast question for ya bike man.... On you Ebike with dual motors, Do both motors run off the same battery pack? Thanks Bike Man.
That looks a nice solid design.
Yep, except for the tyres.

I like your videos, all best from Croatia!
Love watching your videos.
Great review. I'll have to seriously consider this purchase
27km sounds pretty good for that scooter
Yea I was pretty surprised, but with small wheels and a top speed of just 15.5 mph, it isn't a power hog and is quite efficient.
Rohan Pandya there is a cheaper version of it but the range is only 20km
Nice review. Enjoy your videos. Keep your videos coming.
I downloaded an app and I removed the firmware and changed it to Custom Firmware
Speed went up to 30km/h and no e-break regeneration.
if you want more info contact me and make a video about it.
Doug Hnut has a good video on this already:

When doing your aerial shots, do you have on of those quad-copters that will follow you around if your wearing a sensor? Love to see it!

Can take it on airplane? Lithium ion battery size?
Any chance you only review minimotors scooters (speedway or dualtron) or post video on DYI electric scooters?😁
Great video like the footage with the drone.
I got a xiaomi M365 but it’s not foldable, it is that fake? Or is different model? I searched but I don’t find anything about unfolding xiaomi M365. All are foldable.
Hey mica, i missed the Kickstarter for the V2. When is the normal purchase through vruzend.com possible?
great review, with good insights. will be purchasing one
Did you use a drone to film from above
it's nice and compact and easy to hop onto a bus if need be. nice video
Can I change out the capacitors in a 48v controller to handle a 60v battery? The next capacitor available after the 63v is 100v!
Keep it up☺️,Share all the knowledge you have
Hello hello. I was wondering were I can get this scooter for about 300 dollars. Thanks.
Hi ebikeschool how long does it take the scooter to get a full charge again ?
How is it going uphills??
Every time I watch one of your videos, it makes me come up with a reason why I need to buy stuff. My wallet is empty now! :D
Is it possible to add to the power bank that's built in?
Electric scooter or electric skateboards?

Could you review ninebot es2 + battery, compare to this one? Tq
Have you ever done a review on the uberscoot 1000? I'd like to know the whole story behind that. 1000w doesn't sound right for that price
Have you ever heard pkcell battery and what do you think of them
Are your books available on Google Play?
I have a question. The axle on my front hub motor has some space and play sitting in the forks. How can I make it more snug so I don"t have to worry about the forks breaking (My front hub motor is 48v 1500w and will be getting overvolted)
Excellent review, you should try and borrow more electric vehicles to review
The review was great! By the way, where in Tel Aviv did you film this? I wanna go there now
park darom :-)
Thanks :)
It has cruise control - but I don't think you/your video mentioned it
...what kind of frame?
