Oppenheimer won for sure.
Oppenheimer's morose attitude in his later interviews were more than his work being instrumental to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and the near complete erasure of two cities which had stood for centuries, it was that he was fully cognizant of the fact that his work could very easily lead to the extinction of the human race (and very nearly did). That's an impossible burden for a man of conscience to bear, so it's no wonder it broke him.
FYI: Oppenhimer's last name is pronounced (Oh-Pen-Hi-Mer)
