On the one hand it’s a stunning valley and on the other hand you have these ugly, falling apart hotel towers which really do look lieb they came straight out of the apocalypse. These two things clash in a way I honestly haven’t seen yet. Also they had Baumkuchen and a steam locomotive, so they won anyway.

Great start of the journey even if you mostly failed on your plans hahahaha!
It would have been nice to see more of what made Kitagawa an onsen town too.
Glad to see new faces as well as the familiar presence of Ian and Ellen! To think Ian was one of the driving crew in the original JAJ I think, now he’s calling the shots behind the scenes? And I hope to see glimpses of Ellen throughout the series too, her travel with Chris from Hiroshima to Hakata was one of my favorite parts.

This is so entertaining. Love the team and different characters. We have gloomy Brit with self-depricating, sometimes dark humor, Natsuki who is just a joy under any circumstances to watch and others. Great idea, awesome final product. Greetings guys from snowy and cold Poland

We stayed in Kinugawa-onsen in early November this year and we loved every minute of it. We enjoyed relaxing at the onsen every night after a long day and I can say the place is very peaceful. I am aiming to visit the Tohoku region next year and your videos are really helpful to plan my itinerary.

I really enjoyed the video not in spite of the run of bad luck but because of it.
The way Chris and Natski pushed through and laughed at the bad timing of it all brought such a s.ile to my face :)
Can't wait for the next part of the journey

It was great to hear the JAJ music again.
Hearing that music feels like seeing an old friend that you’ve not seen in while. You know that good times are coming.
