That paint is called sparkling burgundy. It is a magenta tinted candy over a silver base. Harley offered that color from 1966 to 1972.
Original paint is crazy, those seats make sense when you're riding. Truly desirable bike
That bike Listed for $2,154 in 1967 and was the highest priced motorcycle at the time. I had a new 1966 and would love to this one.

That is one stunning and headturning bike. Mr. Zauner was the Harley King, when it came to well kept Vintage Harleys. Mark's Dad must have been a encyclopedia of knowledge when it came to Harleys. Love that attention getting and stunning paintjob, and that gorgeous upholstered white leather seat is First Class, and very impressive. Very classy looking.
Mr.zauner had a great eye, one hell of a collection.

I owned that same year bike .same paint it was almost identical too that one.its the one bike after 40 years of riding I wish I never sold,regret it to this day..PS dont lose the bag lids there hard as hens teeth to find..
same age as me , but this model has aged considerably better.... fantastic and beautiful machine ..... but needs to be on the road , where it was meant to be....the new owner will be proud to travel on this .

Oil tank, saddlebags are from the 70's...motor has been restored...black cylinders not stock until 1972. Should be silver.

Well I think it's called sparkling burgundy I painted my 1980 that color... Can people say it's pink too but it's sparkling burgundy.. I think it was a 1968 color
I was born in 67. As a kid in the mid 70s my dad borrowed his buddies bike like this and I rode on the back. I remember the seat.
Beautiful bike. I have one from 1971, close to original, but not first time factory paint, however, original Harley lacqure.
What color is your 71? I also have a 71 Electra Glide. Sparkling copper color. It's an original paint and I am the third person to register it. Good luck with yours.
