EASA praktische Prüfung
Die praktische PPL Prüfung wird mit einem Examiner durchgeführt. Die Flugplanung, das Wetter, die Schiessgebiete und theoretisches PPL Wissen wird vor dem Flug abgefragt und besprochen. Sämtliche Flugstunden die im Lauf der Ausbildung geflogen wurden werden überprüft. Dann geht es an die Vorflugkontrolle wobei der Examiner spezifische Fragen zu Antennen, Motor und generell zum Flugzeug abfragt. Der praktische Teil umfasst der Abflug, Steigflug, Checks, Reiseflug, Überflug einer VOR Station mit den 5 Ts, time, twist, turn, talk und tabulate, einen Anflug auf einen kontrollierten Flughafen wie ein Durchstartverfahren und eine saubere Landungen innerhalb eines vordefinierten Pistenbereichs. Beim zweiten Teil sind dann Manöver gefragt wie 180s, 360° Kurven mit verschiedenen Kurvenlagen wie 30° Bank, 45° Bank und Notlandeübungen im Feld. Für den Schüler ist es ein langer Tag mit einer grossen Anforderung an ihn. Wichtig dabei ist, dass der Schüler alle Befehle laut wiederholt und viel mit dem Prüfer kommuniziert um so dem Prüfer auch das Gefühl zu vermitteln, die gemachten Entscheidungen basieren auf Fachwissen und dass der Schüler das Flugzeug jederzeit im Griff hat. Das Fliegen ist an der Prüfung nur ein kleiner Teil, es geht auch um Airmanship, Kommunikation mit dem Tower oder anderen Flugzeugführern.

The practical PPL exam is carried out with an examiner. Flight planning, weather, shooting areas and theoretical PPL knowledge are queried and discussed before the flight. All flight hours flown during the training will be checked. Then it's time for the pre-flight inspection, where the examiner asks specific questions about the antennas, engine and the aircraft in general. The practical part includes departure, climb, checks, cruise, overflight of a VOR station with the 5 Ts, time, twist, turn, talk and tabulate, an approach to a controlled airport such as a go-around procedure and a clean landing within a predefined runway area. The second part involves maneuvers such as 180s, 360° turns with different corner positions such as 30° bank, 45° bank and emergency landing exercises in the field. It's a long day for the student and places great demands on him. It is important that the student repeats all commands out loud and communicates a lot with the examiner in order to give the examiner the feeling that the decisions made are based on specialist knowledge and that the student has the aircraft under control at all times. Flying is only a small part of the exam; it also involves airmanship, communication with the tower or other aircraft pilots.
