MeMe, you brought back a memory from childhood. We were not allowed sweets, so when our parents were not watching, we would spread butter on crackers and sprinkle sugar. Those were so yummy. I made a whole bunch one day before going to play in the woods behind our house and our neighbors. We shared them with our best friends, Chris and Wayne. At first they were a little reluctant, but after they got their first taste, they loved them as much as we did. This was our go to snack that whole summer. Such sweet delicious memories.
You mentioned Etta Collins and I am wondering if you are talking about my dear sweet friend who was from Scottsville VA. Her husband was Andrew and they were 2 of the sweetest people I've ever known. I worked with her for years at a Baptist Daycare and she was known for her Chocolate Chess Pie. I remember she had a son named Gary and one year many years ago our high school basketball team traveled to play in a state tournament game near Radford VA and we spent the night with Gary and his wife. I had forgotten her name until you said Katrina. This can't be just a coincidence so is Katrina your daughter? If so that means Etta's son married your daughter, talk about a small world. I so much enjoy your videos and esp' the way you sign off. I can see that you yourself shine for Jesus just as my sweet friend Etta always did.

I've never made a recipe with cocoa that wasn't over the top. I'll have to try butter and sugar sandwiches. We ate mayonnaise sandwiches when there wasn't anything else to put on them. Loved them still and appreciated whatever we got.
Made this last two night; just had a slice----oh my! The ingredients made this so lucious...you taste the chocolate, milk, and butter! I also used store bought crusts....theyre just as good as homemade and saves time...we also buy them on sale :)

Chess pie is one of my favorite pies. There was a little hot dog stand in Forest Park, GA in the early to mid 1980s called The Great American Hot Dog House and they sold homemade chess pies. Their lemon chess pie was delicious. I'll have to try your chocolate chess pie. It looks divine! 😊
