Thanks for this video. It took him a minute but once his instinct kicked in he was awesome! They are the most incredible breed. Also love the Cardigans. There's nothing like a Corgi...they are my heart❤
My corgi puppy is 10/11 weeks and everytime we take him outside he bites our ankles and barks when we try to move anywhere it’s so funny and cute so cool to see his instincts kicking in
Corgis are actually bred short specifically to avoid being kicked by cattle, and docked also to avoid farm hazards. So corgis are corgis precisely because they are cattle dogs.
"The sheep are trained to handle the test"!? They have a little voice in their head saying, "Run away with the group"! The voice has been evolving for 20 million years.
My corgi mix loves to try and herd our lab and gnaw on her legs. I swear we need to get him a sheep so he knows what kind of animal he's actually supposed to chew on.
One of our corgis had a five year old guest to our home afraid to walk around because she was herding her! I didn’t know she had it in her but she was definitely showing herding behavior.
My Belgian Mal was a street dog before i adopted him so he missed out on that early socialization. I'd be afraid of him catching up to a sheep and latching on.
Rottweliier:Look guys it’s Shorty Corgi Pit bull: let’s see whatever he can do Corgi: can you do this*barks and a bunch of cattle run away* Rottweiler and pitbull: 😳🤯
I'm curious Has he received any herding training? or is this completely instinct? (I know what the title and description says, but he seems to be doing a pretty good job)
@@Qartie, Do you understand the difference between tests and trials? This was probably a preliminary instinct test, not a herding test. In this case, the work of the dog with the herd is not provided. It's enough to collect the sheeps in a heap.
My thoughts exactly. He was just chasing them, not herding them. He split them constantly (which a dog with good herding instinct won't do) and then went off and chased the sheep who split off- not to get it back with the rest, it was just jos hunting instinct kicking in, making the seperated sheep get further away from the flock. There's a difference between a dog chasing and a dog herding. This was chasing. He can probably be trained and shaped into herding, but I would hardly consider this dog good prospect when there's dogs who do better with the same conditions.

The dog has never done it before, it shows that corgis still have that instinct in them to herd sheep. My corgi tried to herd my family when she was a puppy.
@@jennyandersson6238, my doberman puppy had the same instinct to graze sheep but knocked them together (there were 7 of them). And here I see a dog dispersing the herd in different directions. They scatter in all directions! Is it good to chase one sheep all the time?
2:23 He's herding three, but when one gets separated, watch how his head whips to the left for a second, like "That wasn't supposed to happen."

Ravenna S. Agreed. I can’t wait to own one.
The Cardigan Corgi is best for cattle driving.
My corgi used to bite our ankles and try to herd us when she was a puppy ❤️❤️❤️
Same for us
Itzurgurl XD does she still do that!
No
@@brilly1898 I have two corgi's and they both do that.
Mine too. He still does that sometimes
The cutest things to see. Corgi shepherding sheep. Haha
Its beautiful to watch a dog do what he was bred to do....Good Dog Flynn!!!...
I wish there was a pack of vids like this with all dog breeding doing what they were suppose to be doing
My Springer Spaniel was bred to roll in the mud apparently.
omg I love how they just know instinctively

yeah see how you feel 8 months in. ours has mostly stopped that, which is nice.
My corgi is a menace he just bites bites bites, he needs a friend
@@aredub1847 he eventually stopped it was still cute regardless we knew he was just tapping into his herding instincts
@@oneguy118how about you?

I love this! I want my boy to be able to do this.
I like how he was disinterested at first, then all the sudden is instinct kicks in.
Look so cute chasing sheep with short stubby leg lol
Hard to believe that Corgis are cattle dogs.

@@Muircetach
Huh. I always figured that their small size made them easy for a cow to trample.
@@Muircetach, When corgi were real shepherds, 100 years ago, they looked completely different, they had long legs and a short body.😀
@@Alexandr-pp6yf The dwarfism in their legs has been part of the breed for over 400 years, actually
@Henry Butters nope
What a good boy Flynn, excellent job.
Corgi's are simply the best.
Not bad. Corgis are usually better at cattle driving. They're awesome cattle dogs.
Great first try!!! Way to go Flynn!! ❤️❤️

That's a big ass fucking dog, and without the early training that dog can be a menace. I sure hope you know what you're doing.
If a gorgeousness exam existed Flynn would pass with flying colors hands down.
Yamper herding Wooloo
Pretty much.
The action starts 1:30 in. Great video. I didn’t expect Flynn to be such an athlete.
I know right I was flabbergasted by Flynn’s speed and accuracy of the hearding
Corgi's a are freakishly fast and agile with these stumpy legs. Actually Corgi's excel in Agility.
She protec
She attac
But most importantly
She herd the pack 🐶

Loaf of bread herding clouds 😂
I wish we had this in So. FL
That ole Flynn is an Ace!!
Did he pass?
Where is the herding instinct to knock everyone together??😁
how can they run like that with those stumpy little legs ?
They make great strides on the basis of their huge egos!
hearding mode engaged!!!
Flynn is a very chaotic sheep herd i think ❤

why do the sheep run away from such little pet? Im just shocked they could herd.

Collie better than corgi at sheperding
i had a corgi once she tried herding us and i tripped on her once lol
Look at him go!!
Strong short feet...this reminds me of my cute elder sister who is short😄😍😍
