My dad has been doing that same prank with the bowl of candy holding still while in costume almost every year at their house on Halloween since like 1999. It's hilarious seeing someone else doing the prank on daily dose 😂
My dad did that once to my stepbrother one year. My brother, stepbrother and I helped make the prop, but then my dad undid the prop, got dressed in the clothes and mask, and sat there as my stepbrother got home from school. He put the prop back together again too.
As a person with the disorder called Vasovagal Syncope, that is exactly what happens to me with each episode. They're not as frequent as they were when I was younger anymore, so that's good! The fainting is caused by the anxiety levels of the person, as soon as you try to calm down, the blood pressure suddenly drops and it lacks circulation to the brain for a moment. I don't exactly remember when I faint but I feel myself waking up from a short nap afterwards. My mom described my episodes to me, my eyes roll back and I suddenly lose control of my body as I try to fight it off. In short, it's not a MAJOR condition, just a sudden drop in adrenaline levels. It's completely harmless when sat down, otherwise you can get a concussion from a fall when these happen. (This also happened to me when I got my ears pierced!)
My mum and aunt took my grandma to have her ears pierced way back when and she fainted immediately! My mum turned to the piercer and asked her to quickly do the second ear while she was out of it so she wouldn’t faint again 😂 (This was over 30 years ago)
I relate to the first girl, back when I was in elementary school I had a common occurrence, to which I had a nose bleed almost every week I was there. My mom and teachers were worried that it was a medical issue, so we went to the doctors and they had found that I had a big blood vessel that looked kinda like a tree in my right nostril. So they went in and were able to cauterize it. At the same time I was sitting in the chair after they numbed my nose and made the procedure, I told my mom I wasn’t feeling right, so the doctor came in and checked on me. Just then I felt dizzy and the doctor held my head up by my cheeks and asked if i was okay, to which I replied “yeah I’m okay” even though I was slowly fading out of consciousness. Next thing I knew I woke up with smelling salts slumped over in the chair. I don’t know why I fainted, I wasn’t afraid of it or anything and it didn’t hurt, but my mom would laugh about it every time she remembered that story😂
Fainting just happens sometimes. I personally faint from injections, so I have to take vaccinations lying down. The first time it happened I fell over and injured myself. I am otherwise completely calm about it but my body just doesn't agree.

Little storytime: When i was about 7 and going to the mall to get my ears pierced at God forbid CLAIRE'S, i was super excited. This was my first piercing ever and i didnt feel too nervous or anything. I got up on the chair, the piercer did her thing with a rather unsanitary looking piercing gun. The piercing didnt actually hurt much, but as soon as i stood up i felt a little dizzy. I dismissed it as nothing and told myself i'd feel better in a minute. Well, as soon as i stepped out of the shop i told my dad i was a little lightheaded. Next thing yk i'm out cold on the mall floor with people staring at me. Quite embarrassingly, i had vomited on the floor and had to drag myself to the bathroom to get cleaned up. If something like this has ever happened to you, please dont feel bad or embarrassed about it. I remember i was, but everyone reacts differently. Nothing to be ashamed of.
You should always sit for a few minutes after getting a piercing and the person doing the piercing should tell everyone this but they dont, i got my ears done in claires too! Didnt faint but it hurt like a bitch haha
did your ears ever get infected? thankfully i never got mine done there but my niece ended up getting earrings stuck into her ears because it was cheap clairs jewellery
Your dad didn't even help you to the bathroom 😂 anyway, who is actually embarrassed about something they did when they were 7? And how the hell do you know if something looks unsanitary at that age, when I was 7 I was eating bugs
My stepdad got a piercing and fell onto the sidewalk. His friend happened to be walking in that direction and did what any good friend would do. He stood over him and said, “I don’t know what you’re on, but I want some of it”

Body Piercer for over 12yrs here... Yes, this does happen, but not as much as the uploader states. Generally, in my personal experience, it happens to my younger clients whom are really nervous and don't eat anything beforehand, (which they usually lie about) and we find out afterward. I personally thoroughly screen every client but there's only so much you can do. The trickier/scarier passout piercing jobs are when you are doing a tongue-piercing and mid-piercing the client starts to drop like a sack of potatoes and is trying to swallow while you have there tongue clamped and the needle is still in... Most bring a friend with them and when this happens, you need to act fast and ask for assistance by getting them to hold them up so you can finish the job and then attend to them medically. After they come to, they say it felt like they were "dreaming" and are pretty out of sorts. Once they rest and we give them juice, etc to raise their blood sugar levels; they're fine. It can be pretty scary for the parent or friend watching as they think something went wrong, but, yes, it does happen from time to time and you need to make sure they're calm so the situation doesn't escalate. This post wasn't to scare anyone from getting pierced (hopefully) just wanted to give everyone some further depth and what to expect if this does occur. Stay beautiful everyone... Peace.

If i'm not mistaken, passing out when doing body piercing is what the doctors call an hipersensitive neural reaction. It happens when our body suffers intense pain very suddenly and shortly, and instead of "processing the pain", the body sort of "resets" itself, by "turning off and on". I've had that happen to me once, feels like you fell asleep, and once the person passes out, which usually lasts a minute at most times, they have spasms in their body, and a minute or so later, the person wakes up with no recollection of what happened. For those, and me as well when that happened, it's as if we "fell asleep" for a minute.
Simple that their blood pressure drop, they are either too stress during the procedure or they starve before coming to the appointment or have low sugar level. The same with tattoo
@@NoobieSnake I mean yeah being stabbed to make a permanent hole in your body to look cool is generally not going to have health benefits. They can easily get infected too. But a significant number of people like it and it doesn't seem to have any major health downsides that people aren't willing to take, kind of like alcohol, for example. Not healthy but people have fun with it. Generally, if you are getting a piercing, do be informed, though don't dictate piercings for others.
I love how, out of all of the possibilities, we probably all thought that there being an actual person off camera who sounded exactly like Alexa was less likely than the paddle board actually being some new smart technology
A doctor told me this tip so I wanted to share it here: if you feel like you may faint, lie down with your legs slightly elevated. The blood pools at the back of the head and it becomes, in his words, virtually impossible to faint.
This is the best possible advice as someone who has fainted themselves and have helped a few people through them. Even if you’re in public, just sit down, QUICK. if you’re lucky you may be able to avoid it by just sitting and resting your head on your knees or any position that allows you to essentially hold yourself up if you faint. (Ex butt on the ground, knees up to the chest, arms bracing legs or using arms laid across your knees to rest your head on). That’s the better and less embarrassing position if it’s in public and you’re alone, and you can simply sit, close your eyes, wait it out, and you’ll be fine in most cases. But if you CAN lie down with your knees up at wherever you are during the incident, that’s the guaranteed method. DO NOT: shake the person, yell at them, etc. to the fainted person, that’s about the same experience IRL as playing Minecraft but suddenly being teleported to a location with hostile enemies for no reason all up in your business. It’s very jarring. It’s feels kinda like you fell asleep but suddenly you are in a different place than you were before and people are surrounding you for reasons you have no idea of
Also, drink a glass of juice or water every waking hour. A lot of people feel tired, weak or faint from dehydration. According to the lay press, 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
Personally, I find the opposite helps me. I always carry a small bag of jelly beans in my pocket and when I start feeling dizzy (I get panic attack induced dizziness sometimes), I walk around briskly while eating the jellybeans. The blood pumping and the glucose hit makes the dizziness fade almost instantly (no, I'm not diabetic btw). I've tried sitting down when the dizziness hits quite a few times and it nearly always ends with me out cold.
0:06 Piercing affects the nervous system because it hits certain nerves (in TCM "meridians", in Ayurveda "Nadis") which can lead to tremor + fainting. tattoos affect and trigger the immune system (the ink is perceived as a foreign body and is therefore attacked by the immune system).
That fainting reminds me of a blood test I had years ago. I went for the test on short sleep and no food and had a similar faint - a fit included. It prompted me to ask to lie down for blood tests for years after.
I had a time when I got *several* vials drawn for a smattering of tests, then walked away right after, got to the top of an escalator, then collapsed. Then it turns out that if you’re found unconscious on the floor in a hospital, standard procedure is to check you into the ER for some extra tests before you leave. Fun day…
1:27 I actually find it more interesting as to how Australians don't fall off of Earth. Must be a workout to hold on every moment of the day to not fall off
I passed out from having blood tests done a few months back and that's the first time that has ever happened to me and I've been doing similar bloodwork for ~20 years.
Love the anxiety on the dog's face from seeing the giant squirrel on the screen. I wonder how many restless, sleepless and nightmare filled nights he had from seeing that.
That happens to people taking injections too. A doctor once told me that's a common reaction that's completely involuntary. That is, it's not psychological like fear or anything. It's probably more akin to the body faking a death so you don't look like a threat that should be attacked or something.
@@flipflopsofpeaceandjustice to be completely fair, this is not my field of study. I'm talking off what I was told by that doctor and also from another who asked me if it used to happen to me on vein inoculation of medicine, which also said it was more common than people think it is...

My mum turned to the piercer and asked her to quickly do the second ear while she was out of it so she wouldn’t faint again 😂

I'm good. Nose piercings don't look good, so I don't think I'll have to worry about getting one
@k4vinzenit sure is
You are lucky the numbed your nose. I had mine cauterized with no anesthesia……it hurt

Little storytime:
When i was about 7 and going to the mall to get my ears pierced at God forbid CLAIRE'S, i was super excited.

Body Piercer for over 12yrs here...
Yes, this does happen, but not as much as the uploader states.
Generally, in my personal experience, it happens to my younger clients
whom are really nervous and don't eat anything beforehand,
(which they usually lie about) and we find out afterward.
I personally thoroughly screen every client but there's only so much you can do.
The trickier/scarier passout piercing jobs are when you are doing a tongue-piercing
and mid-piercing the client starts to drop like a sack of potatoes and is trying to swallow
while you have there tongue clamped and the needle is still in...
It can be pretty scary for the parent or friend watching as they think something went wrong,
but, yes, it does happen from time to time and you need to make sure they're calm so the situation doesn't escalate.
This post wasn't to scare anyone from getting pierced (hopefully)
just wanted to give everyone some further depth and what to expect if this does occur.

Turning it off then on again works so well it's a biological feature
Thanks for sharing! I feel that this means that unnatural process of getting pierced can’t be good for our body then?
Simple that their blood pressure drop, they are either too stress during the procedure or they starve before coming to the appointment or have low sugar level. The same with tattoo
@@NoobieSnake I mean yeah being stabbed to make a permanent hole in your body to look cool is generally not going to have health benefits. They can easily get infected too. But a significant number of people like it and it doesn't seem to have any major health downsides that people aren't willing to take, kind of like alcohol, for example. Not healthy but people have fun with it. Generally, if you are getting a piercing, do be informed, though don't dictate piercings for others.
@@midnight4685doesn't even look that cool...

getting pierced can cause a drop in blood sugar. always eat before you go and try to be sober. even weed can make this worse.
Wow... Luckly it said by a doctor... That the base man, head down feet up to help the blood reaching your brain.

2:05 that robot is me after the school year starts 💀
That fainting reminds me of a blood test I had years ago. I went for the test on short sleep and no food and had a similar faint - a fit included. It prompted me to ask to lie down for blood tests for years after.
In the 60s I worked in steel mills on summer vacations from college. I was sitting next to a guy about 220, 6', who fainted when they took some blood.
I had a time when I got *several* vials drawn for a smattering of tests, then walked away right after, got to the top of an escalator, then collapsed. Then it turns out that if you’re found unconscious on the floor in a hospital, standard procedure is to check you into the ER for some extra tests before you leave. Fun day…
