I really liked this video Adam, it's always been really inspiring watching you do regular coding and interacting with people. You're a role model, and I am personally learning a lot from you, not only about coding, but about what life as a SWE is, and how to navigate the different situations life puts us in. Thanks for all the things you put out, it really makes an impact!

Hey Adam! I used to watch you a lot during the bot land days, so I was really excited to see you get back, although I don't have time for livestreams anymore, I really enjoy your videos!
I would suggest you to do some RUclips shorts to pull some viewers to your streams/videos. Like, not dedicate yourself to shorts, but use some of your knowledge/inspire moments from interacting with chat during streams that are worth as short.
One thing I'm seeing is that people are less and less interested in long lived projects and quickly stop watching. I can imagine if you make your projects scope for 1 month, it might be a nice balance between longevity and retention. Almost like, a "mini game" a month that makes 12 a year (people also get bored of games easily, I've noticed).
Either way, I hope you have success! It was such a shame seeing you go last time, so i REALLY hope you can make it.
    Cheers.

Hey, I'm happy that I can still provide content for you here on RUclips! 😁 Shorts are something that I want to try at some point and just haven't gotten around to (and now I'm not sure when I _will_ try them 🤔).
I do think short projects are much easier to follow, but at the same time, there are things I want to make that take longer than a few weeks. On the plus side, at least games are pretty followable once there's enough groundwork done, so I'm hoping Skeleseller attracts some attention and does well once it's released. 🤞

5:33 It would be worth pointing out an example here, watching you work on the documents and projects on stream shows how much effort you put into your stuff and just how well organized you are. Your way of planning and taking notes really is something else 😁

I'd love to watch you read tech/dev articles from time to time and give your opinion about it. I think this would also work well on RUclips. Not saying you should only do this, just another thing to do from time to time. Keep up the good work Adam, much love

Subbed for your keyboard content! I'm still lost how you did all those advanced stuff. I just would use Vial. I'm in the same boat as you struggling between content creation and building a product.

If you want any help with the keyboard stuff, just let me know on Discord. 👍
RE: content creation - I think it depends on what you're doing it for. If it's a hobby, then both are great. If it's for money, then the product route is probably better most of the time. Streaming keeps me motivated, and I've learned a ton throughout the years, so I feel like it's still worthwhile for me to do while pursuing products.

      _chanting_ DO IT! DO IT!
Seriously though, I see a lot of people in the same general position because of the tech bubble in this area-they've been working since they got out of school, and at some point, career progression stops mattering as much as happiness to them, so they start considering their options. For some people, that just means focusing on work-life balance. For others, it means a job/career shift.
I myself have always wanted to create a bunch of stuff and find it difficult to spend the required energy for that when a traditional full-time job is in the mix. I feel like I would regret it if I didn't try pursuing these creative endeavors. I suspect you're somewhat similar given what I know about your journey, so I wish you luck in figuring all of this out! 💪
P.S. nice to see you here, and thanks for subscribing over on Twitch the other day!

@AdamLearns 100%. those years streaming were incredibly fulfilling. financial stress was rough but even still i loved it. full of great memories and real personal growth.
Also agree about managing energy. I can't just do something on the side... I tried and that lead to burn out.
It's just a question of when I pull the trigger again..

If you want to be a content creator on youtube, my advice is to try, step by step !, to complexify your youtube videos a little, with some editing, like when you are talking about your game you are developping, it would have been nice to see some screenshots of the game. All content creators that i know of that earn a living from their activity always do some self promotion at some point in their videos.

I completely agree! This particular video was intentionally sort of "lazy" just to test the waters. I try not to spend more than a day working on each video, that way I can still focus on developing, but I think that at some point, people will probably expect higher production values.
